NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Yes, the scots tend to think that. However, having spent around 6 months in the Orkney’s they’d say they’re Orcadian first and then drift to Caithness/Sutherland next and Scottish third… must be an island thing 😎

2022 Indigenous Jumper
Art is... always subjective and always cultural. And from what I know as a privileged white middle aged bloke... there will be a story that I can't connect with by merely looking at it... ...until it is put in print to me, in which case I then reflect on the paucity of ritual and connection to land that my ancestors that emigrated here 150 years ago passed on to me. That's when the object that I am looking at makes sense, and transcends my socially constructed version of beautiful art.

NON-MFC: Round 5, 2022
"His record over the past decade, given the talent at his disposal, is remarkable. And he is an old school players’ coach. He refers to them as ‘my sons’. Even Kane Cornes, who is constitutionally required to find fault with everyone and everything, speaks of his former coach with great fondness." I liked this quote from The Guardians Jonathon Horn... I'm not sure when Ken will get the chop... but surely Ken has got the chop?

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs GWS
Are we now 3 games AND % ahead of the teams out of the 8? After 5 [censored] rounds? Have I died and gone to some alternate version of sporting heaven?

NON-MFC: Round 5, 2022
People make their choices given what's in front of them at the time. He was just a Dom Sheed pearler away from having one hanging around his neck. I have no animosity towards Jeremy, even with what appeared to be a slight on the club in some of his commentary over the years. Good on him for getting the double century. It's quite the career... and is just one chapter of who he is.

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
I'm half a pint through a fairly strong beer... and rate my post, so much, I thought I'd post it here. Happy to debate... As per language used now when observing other matches, and how it informs our lens of how we see Goodwin and Co's philosophy. Re: 'Goalfests'... (any team that allows any other team to score over hmmmm 80?) Isn't there a massive shift in the supporters understanding and THUS the language used by us, because we now have a lens of what 'works' to win football matches consistently. It's also not just our - defense (back 6), running parallel to the strength of our 'defence' is still the system - which I still count as a a Goodwin version of gengenpressing. #goodwinpressing ps... does anyone have any data on how many left foot kicks Gus does per match vs right? pps... do you say data or data?

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide
although our forward line has been stagnant, I have been happy with how Sam W has presented and taken marks in the centre of the ground... no different to a BBB role, it's the way it goes sometimes... perhaps a bit of late scoreboard cosmetics for him.

is that the same as, their strategies to nullify our strengths is going well?

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide
Clearly this a ploy from Goodwin... "Lads, you think a 3-5 goal win is pressure, week in, week out ??" "[censored] it, let's test you, let's only get 1 goal up for an entire match and the play the last 5 min, like it's the grand final". Goodwin is genius.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Anyways.. people might correct me on my recollections. I recall when I was a wee tacker, pretending to be all of Jim Stynes, who would tap it to Glen Lovett who'd pass it to Stephen Tingay, and snag a goal as perhaps, Chopper Lovell, on the family farm near Portland... [censored] Richard Osborne in 1993 snagged a lazy 10 and stopped an ongoing streak of losing. Of course, Melbourne were always going to be that team. That is where my MFCCS began. Anyways, I stumbled across this from SirSwamp. Now firstly, you'll be glad that we're not top of the list, even without University. But my mind did drift to... of the wins, that ended the longest losing streaks... how many were Melbourne complicit in? Anyone care to answer...
