Can confess that I also thought he was gone just recently but very glad to be wrong about that. Where they play him may provide an an insight into the things he has needed to work on at VFL level.. I believe he is a replacement for out of form players like Smith and Wagner off half back who have been a little flat on their return. Has been playing off half back in VFL recently. The other possibility is he replaces Vince in a run with role on one of ports mids. They tend to be strong bodied but can't think of any of them being really quick

Part of their roles are to manage the pr of the afl positively. Simon in particular couldn't continue. No wonder the Oliver investigation never seemed to be a priority. That and the fact their was nothing in it

Just how he keeps his pants on if he does

Think you are giving Neeld too much credit. Kicking along the boundary isn't a game plan

We might have 1st dibs on him already. Mahoney quote, 'This would, if approved, allow the opportunity for Dom to re-engage with the Melbourne Football Club should Dom rekindle his passion for AFL' http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/melbourne/dom-barry-quits-afl-leaves-melbourne-to-return-home/news-story/09b42dc063721d6311b7f8864ec17530

Liked his interview also. It was a smart choice by the club to have Lewis address the media knowing he understands culture better than most and can hit their headline seeking questions for 6

Goodwin would recall Blight coming into Adelaide and moving on jarman, mcguiness, mcdermott, and anderson while they still had some life in them and backing in the new crop of young blokes with success. Grimes and Trengrove might be part of the same thinking. Gee we treat our captains poorly in recent times.

My best bit was when they asked a questions along the lines of ... where you upset about the way the clubs culture was called into question last week. He said he wasn't but he was actually filthy about it and then proceed to state that it was more that some people don't know what culture actually is. Referring to most journo's who have never kicked an aussie rules footy in anger

Tom McDonald - are his days as a defender over?
Demons1858 replied to Nasher's topic in Melbourne Demons
Matthew Richardson was frustrated in the goal square also but l hear he could play a bit. Issues is more to do with the way the game is played these days and there isn't really room for a permanent stay at home forward in any side -
Tom McDonald - are his days as a defender over?
Demons1858 replied to Nasher's topic in Melbourne Demons
Some may recall that he has played up forward before briefly in 2014 and then in 2015 with some success. Since then he has developed his attacking powers while running out of defence. Perhaps it's part of his evolution to become a permanent forward now. Looked 'likely' playing forward in years gone by. I'm not suprised by his output unlike some in a side now with better delivery and superior competitiveness. He is kicking accuately at the moment but not expecting him to kick 5 straight reach week http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2015-07-19/mcdonald-provides-newfound-flexibility -
Reasonably balanced article but wasI that the same Mick Malthouse that gave a glowing endorsement of Mark Neeld.

Got no doubt he'll be an assistant coach to an AFL club when goes.

He's been getting 25 to 30 possessions most weeks. Didn't look slow when played last year either

Yes to some extent l agree but we get nothing other than vanilla reports from Plapp e.g. JT is professional, JT is showing leadership blah blah blah. Just want an understanding areas of improvement its not that big a deal. If l was asking about the color of his jocks or his personal life then l would agree with you

Bugg is an easy target because of some of his antics and the media haven't held back. That and the fact Mills has a glass jaw hasn't helped him. Feel a little sorry for him to be honest.

A club should never put a line through a player as they can sometimes surprise you with their development. Having said that it does feel like that is happening to Jack. It's gone from me being disappointed about the situation to a lower level of anger towards the club. CAN THE CLUB PLS EXPLAIN WHAT HIS AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT ARE!!! Plapp talks about the development of others at VFL but less so JT. If it's speed then say so !!!! I've had enough of it - members are entitled to know what he needs to improve on

Still trying to get passed the fact that White was elevated to play Sydney ahead of him. Doubt he will play again for the mfc which upsets me somewhat

I think with Roos part of it is that he just loves the whole handover to another coach thing and plugs the teams that have done it. Suspect he would love to do it again. Magpies won't try it a second time I suspect
-
Is very cool under pressure and doesn't fumble. His gather while running in the last quarter when it looked for a moment that it will spill and hibberds precise kick to the top of square under pressure were examples of the things that win you right games

Unless Bradshaw wants out, it would be tasteless of the MFC to trade him out when he is struggling with concussion issues
-
I think they would have told him he is only a chance to play if a really specific role can't be filled by someone younger than him of roughly equal ability. Similar to Grimes. Is a good mark for his height so imagine he might be a good replacement for Watts but its not going to happen. In any case its better he doesn't get selected in the squad if he isn't going to play. Don't need him travelling to WA again to sit on the bench like they did in the JLT. Media should ask or club should explain in the VFL reports what he needs to work on to make AFL

Ideas like this have the potential to go viral on social media ... lets have more of it ... sensational in every way
