  1. Dogs leading by that bs free-kick/goal and 2 pointss
  2. It's funny. I gave a fluff last week about the Dogs, But after seeing so many throws and 50/50's go their way and with 4 beers down, i have no nerves and don't care if sydney win. When clubs stretch the rules and expose loopholes, then i lose sympathy. Kennedy is an absolute gun and he'd be dragging any mediocre team across the line on a day with this output. It's good to see him in full stride. #anyonebuthawthorn
  3. 16 disposals, 2 goals 83 af at half time. Next to kennedy granted, but this shows you can't have too many elite inside mids. Certainly would be a deadly combo with viney. If Kennedy isn't ripping the ball out and distrubuting, Mitchell is there to crumb any spill from Kennedy's effort.
  4. 10 throws so far On another topic, people who think low scoring footy sucks are just... Subhuman
  5. I'd imagine Boomer would have been offered a regular thursday and sunday footy show gig, media access in radio and probably discounted advertising for his supplement energy drink business, as salary cap evading side-deals. He's been having 1 on 1 interviews with Barrett on the footy show, so it's no surprise he'd end up there.
  6. Hey DeeSpencer, I just wanted to mention that it's not a matter of arbitrarily grouping people together just because of their race, but acknowledging that many indigenous boys talk about a special brotherhood, bond or comraderie they share together at each club. We have a young leader in Neville Jetta who was nominated for the Jim Stynes medal for community leadership who has signed long term and is purported to have a strong work ethic and is defensively disciplined who would be an ideal mentor for Motlop and I mentioned Geelong because it seems Motlop is the most senior indigenous player at their club and seems a little afloat. Everyone is an individual of course but there are generalisations that have an element of truth. I could be making a wrong assumption, but I just feel these "Geelong have a great environment, so he wouldnt last at our club" comments are a bit simplistic and underestimate the club culture we're growing and can offer that perhaps Geelong can't. It would be a bad generalisation to just assume it is or it isn't a factor. It's just a potentiality.
  7. It's almost like that AFL LOGO they've pasted in their profile picture adds authority and substance, on a subconscious level.
  8. I have an idea that i'm sure will get a rousing round of applause amongst 17 clubs fans. But how about we end this drug saga at the grievance tribunal (Or threaten to) and get Hibberd for nothing (or close). The Bombers have been getting away with playing the feelgood story all year, cheering losses like they've won and now #1 pick and key player re-signings. 2nd round pick is very valuable and how much pressing need do we have to add Hibberd? If we could get Hibberd and Motlop with one 2nd round pick and another late pick or player and go through the tribunal for Hibberds "fresh start" away from their club. Then let's make a bold move. Probably too late, but food for thought.
  9. Would Essendon accept something other than a second rounder for Hibberd, and our 2nd round #27 could be used on Motlop? The club has never publicly stated they're using their 2nd round pick on Hibberd have they?
  10. Their culture has been well spoken about over the years, and they've got some wonderful players and experienced heads. But where were all of the players under the top 6 on the weekend, why didn't they show up? You do have to question the leadership of their club if their mid-lower tier of players go missing so often though. Just as we do with the Dees. Do they really have an excellent culture if they're really a 10th placed team without one player? Selwood might lead by example, but he sure does a lot of sooking and complaining to the umpires when things don't go his way. They're not the team they were 5 years ago and have plenty of players who aren't living up to standards consistently. After their weekend performance, I wouldn't be surprised if they become a mid table side for the next few years, and we accelerate past them.
  11. It's well spoken about by all indigenous players that there is a comraderie and brotherhood with each other. That's not discounting the comraderie they have with non-indigenous players, it's just recognising that they all speak of a special bond with one another. As it stands, Geelong only have a younger player in Nakia Cockatoo. I'm not attributing any turn around solely to indigenous leaders, but it's part of the group dynamic that can help foster a strong culture and Neville Jetta is a community leader and disciplined and consistent afl player who can mentor others in regards to defensive pressure and work ethic.
  12. Correct me if i'm wrong, but the Cats don't have many indigenous afl players. Our club does, we also have a leader in Neville Jetta. We may have the right club environment for him to fit in and work hard amongst his peers. We did for Jeff Garlett.
  13. As they won by two points. His first shot on the boundary was the matchwinner, his second unnecessary shot was the liability that almost cost them the game. If he didn't take the risk of shooting for the 7 point win or missing for a 2point lead with hawk kick in, then he gambles on a throw-in on two occasions with the lead at 1 point. I think everyone knew the Hawks would have the last shot on goal, and so that one behind he kicked was vital.
  14. What's the right deal RB? Motlop & Kersten for a 2017 2nd round pick and other pick swapping shenanigans like our 3rd for their 4th? Which then frees us up to trade Dawes, Dunn and Steak Knives to Brisbane for Pearce Hanley? or Dawes to WCE (instead of Petrie)
  15. Cam Macarthy has 72% goal kicking accuracy in his 2015 season (36g14b). I'd definitely make a play for him if I were WCE.
  16. Fair enough though, its grand final week. SEN listeners don't want an indepth discussion about Melbournes list. Can do that next week. Robbo asked about Collingwoods list last night on afl 360 to buckley and i had to turn it off. Wrong time and place
  17. No surprise considering he wasn't given at least one or two games in the seniors to show something. Seems like a waste, but if the club wouldn't want to even take one chance on weakening the 22 and giving him a go, then he was doomed.
  18. Gaff 21 votes. I think Lachie Neale 20 votes. There are possible trades if he departs.
  19. Our [censored] performance in r23 is going to hand danger the brownlow. Disappointing. GOparker/anyone
  20. I'm surprised no one has mentioned option D, given everyone's familiarity with the topic. D. He'll retire for one year.
  21. They along with GWS also played 0 games in 1 month in September 2015, might have also been a factor. Both preliminary final hosts were 10th and 11th the year before Both away winning preliminary finalists were in the finals last year and have better win/loss records over 2 years. Geelong and GWS last regular season game at the MCG and Spotless respectively, weren't very good performances. Geelong dismal against Richmond. GWS losing to WCE 1-6 was separated by 4 points for the first time ever. 7th 4 points below 6th. 7th had the same points as Brisbane in 2003 There are so many variables in this debate that make the one years sample size irrelevant. This was always going to be the most likely year we see two teams with the week off, losing. Need a bigger sample size to judge the effect of the bye week. BUT if the incentive is to reproduce the incredible week 1 spectacle of fresh clubs going hard at it with 3 of the best matches of the year and discover if preliminary final was an anomaly or unfair to the prelim hosts, then it's a far better incentive than kneejerk scrapping the bye because two home preliminary finalists lost
