  1. 4. Sharp Shooter: An underrated component. Look at Bruest and Gunston and Tory Dickson for current premiership squads, the ball gets to them and they rarely miss. Popping up at key moments against the flow to take a mark at 40 from an innocuous 20m forward entry. The opposition fans gasp and the goal is penciled in already. Watts currently fits the bill and takes his opportunities. Hogan is the ideal dead eye if he can re capture his set shot. Watts and Hogan fulfill the need. But the vulnerability remains if Hogan continues to struggle. Who is our other sharp shooting forward? I haven't seen much of Wiedemann or Hulett, how are they for kicking? Petracca/VDB are more up the ground body on body midfielders. Kent or Kennedy need to be this player or to draft in a player instead of Kennedy that can crumb and be a skillful goal shooter because Garlett has the small forward role locked down and any other pos needs to be a reliable set shot. Not an immediate priority but something we may need to look at.
  2. Who wants to go to Waverley to dig some car park pot holes and slightly lift some of those concrete slab pathways?
  3. I thought they'd be going the Sydney route. If trade talk points are correct, 14+17=2100 and #10 = 1300. Then they only need to offer a #20-25 type pick to even the trade. Would more likely be Hartung, Puopolo or Siciliy to Sydney I think and send 14 + 17 to GCS ?
  4. Some nice defensive marks backing back too. With blonde hair he'll also fit into the defence with Oscar, Tom, Sam, Jayden, Josh & Bernie.
  5. Maybe he can be their families match-day nanny, and can catchup with Lewis about the game after he returns
  6. Both teams with the week off didn't make the 8 last year. Irrespective of how strong they showed to be at certain points this year, they're both still developing clubs. GWS are on a two game losing streak at their home venue now, and Geelong only a month earlier were down by 36 at 3/4 v Richmond. Hardly unbeatable home top 4 prospects.
  7. And just like the drawback with us, who is their backup ruckman?
  8. Do we have an international rookie spot? Wouldn't mind seeing an investment in an athletic sudanese or african/american player like the Saints, Swans & Kangas have done. (Or an Irish ruckman) They couldn't be that far behind Spencer.
  9. My number one priority with the Hibberd trade known already, was to bring in a mature and experienced player with skilful disposal and compusre, like we did with Cross. Dal Santo seemed to be one of the ideal candidates. Jordan Lewis was the most perfectly timed trade that filled that need. Our win against the Hawks in round 19 or 20 might prove to be one of the most important wins we've had in a decade (or a half century)
  10. I meant the trade period as a whole, not the Hibberd trade. We all knew Hibberd was coming a few months ago, but many people still wanted to see a few more trades. In light of Mahoney's interview today, i read that we had not planned to pick up anyone else even if Lewis had not happened.
  11. So Hibberd was the only planned trade for the trade period, I wonder how many people would've reacted to that negatively in this forum if Lewis had not have occurred? I know I would have.
  12. I think we want Hibberd more than we want any one of those 2nd round picks, it will be this years 2nd. Essendon have the cards
  13. Yeah. Unless the Hawks have Rockliff as Plan B, it's probably in their best interests to keep this Jordan Lewis trade waiting for a few days, or demand we give them a 2nd round pick to use for O'Meara. They might force JL to play for one more year if they can ONLY get Tom Mitchell this year. Essendon and Hawthorn are both fighting for our 2nd round picks and both working out whether they should delay or do the Lewis/Hibberd trades. A 3 way with the two worst clubs in the competition.
  14. Butter: Xavier Gold butter Dish Knife: Richards knives, made in Sheffield This is absurd.
  15. The best way for me to contact Mahoney with my idea for a trade, would be to start a rumour. Not saying that is or isn't the case here though. Furthermore, most people are excited by the rumour and want Rockliff, so it kind of suggests that Mahoney should consider the opinions of fans, even if it's been made up. So it's not really the worst thing to happen.
  16. Without internal contacts, I suppose that starting a rumour is the best way to get your trade-in idea to the Recruiter.
  17. I like your reasoning, but key to Melbourne's future?
  18. We'll pay him the high salary and give him a long contract, if he has his tongue and twitter account removed? If he's not going to be in the leadership group, then he won't need to talk.
  19. I'm concerned for Angus' safety, with that many contested ball winning heads to bump into.
  20. One of those players might nominate us if we make the top 4 with Rockliff, Lewis & Hibberd having an immediate impact.
  21. Hilarious to see Hawk fans simultaneously claim that 'Jordan is almost finished anyway' to shield the ego bruising, but then also asking for a high 2nd round pick.
  22. We need more goal-kicking mids though? Bernie seems to have a more intuitive goal sense than D sense, that he showcased in 2015 and went down back this year because we had no other option?
