  1. I agree. However: This is what I think should happen. Try PJ as no. 1 ruckman, Jamar as no. 2 and play White around the ground. White can kick goals and can take a decent mark so could make a makeshift forward. He's also been playing loose in defence through the year so could go there as well. I still think White is too hampered by the centre circle thing whereby he can't time his jump properly.
  2. Yeh, after Sunday's game my first thought of Warnock is that he could play on buddy. Josh Gibson isn't the world's greatest defender but he was tried and succeeded, so i would throw him in the deep end I dunno about Whelan on Williams, we've tried this one many times over the years and never seems to work (though I have no better ideas except maybe Bell). Even if we quell Franklin and Roughead, Williams could easily chip in with 5.
  3. I've never left a game early - defeats the purpose of going in the first place. I wasn't exactly confident that we would win on Sunday, but nonetheless I wanted to see how the team reacted. Plus its not like there was going to be a huge crowd on the trains either.
  4. Actually I thought they picked him as best. However I agree with Yze Magic on this one, it's not like his possessions were terribly influential or special; rather, he just got the ball a lot.
  5. In: Whelan Out: Bell Bartram gets one last chance to do a run with job on a Crow midfielder. Bell needs to play at Sandy to get some form back. PJ should come back via Sandy too. Dunno if Sylvia will be ready, it's a hamstring isn't it?
  6. There's been discussion on 3AW about whether or not Melbourne should have a cheaper membership which doesn't allow entry to games but it still a membership. A lot of other clubs have them. The problem I see with it is that we obviously need both members and larger crowds, this kind of membership will not help at all with our poor attendances. What do people think?
  7. He was better yesterday because he kicked more than he handpassed: he played to his strengths
  8. Wonaeamirri - NAB Rising Star (is this possible for a rookie?)

  10. Loved the Saints match if only because it was a final and the pressure was right on. There are just so many.
  11. Deserves his spot in the team at least for one more week.
  12. I would say this is quite unlikely, considering even in our good years we don't seem to do too well over there.
  13. Exactly. If we come out against Adelaide and play like we did against Hawthorn, Bulldogs etc. then we will have gone nowhere.
  14. Yeh thats what I heard. If he's fit for Adelaide, would he get back in?
  15. I agree. I can see other clubs closer to a premiership trying to poach him from us. He keeps our backline together and makes Warnock, Bell, Garland, Carroll and co. look better at the same time
  16. Best example - West Coast on friday vs Carlton. 48 or so points down, tried to fight back but still lost by 5 goals.
  17. I ask this question because, though I definitely want us to win more games this year, I would be quite annoyed if Essendon or West Coast got pick 1. Still, I don't want the spoon or pick 1. Do people think we need pick 1 to improve?
  18. Essendon won't win the spoon unless they keep getting injuries. They'll get better when their players come back. I think.
  19. I agree, he didn't win many hitouts but he finally used his body around the ground. He was blocking well and he and White did well enough in the ruck to allow us to get some clearances in the second half
  20. He should but I wouldn't want him to in case he gets injured. We look a million times better with him in defense than without him. He reads the play really well. I also liked Warnock's game yesterday, it was one of only a few times I'd seen him play and he surprised me a bit with his spoiling. Also liked Garland and Frawley but then again they'll all look good today from that game when we controlled the ball for a half of football.
  21. You could easily hear his voice from the top floor of the members stand. It was amazing. I think it helped Moloney.
  22. Everyone who showed up should be congratulated. It definitely sounded like more than 19,000. I wish we played someone other than Adelaide in Adelaide next, because a loss there won't help the size of the crowd the week after vs Hawthorn
  23. Yeh the way he said 'great game plan' makes it sound like he's trying to get the media off DB's back. The players are all saying its them and not Bailey, so I guess they're all sticking up for him.
