  1. Well, with 6 hours and 15 minutes of voting to go there have been 2810 votes, split 50-50 between the two.
  2. We're not going to win a premiership in the next 4 years. So we don't need an immediate impact from whoever we draft. I don't know too much about who's available in this draft, but from what I can glean from past drafts, a KPP is much harder to find after the first round. Midfielders seem to be draftable from later in the draft. So if it was up to me, we'd take Watts, then use the next couple of picks on midfielders. But I have to agree with Brereton, where he says that we should consult Neitz, Lyon and Schwarz first.
  3. I don't think any of them will go. Moloney puts so much into every match, and I think he and Bailey get along well.
  4. Even if Port wanted to win they wouldn't. They are a long way behind the teams above them on the ladder. North is clearly the 4th best team in the comp, maybe 3rd over the Dogs. Choco should send Mark Harvey a nice gift as thanks for Naitanui.
  5. I'm not sure either... I think what I was trying to say was, regardless of his fitness, Bate probably shouldn't have been selected this week based on form. However I guess I based that on the past couple of weeks after the Essendon game, where he wasn't as good. I did forget that game though.
  6. Just heard on the radio. Has been a valiant servant of the club in the short time he's been here. Will miss his beautiful kicking style.
  7. There's a good chance Collingwood will find themselves interstate next week, so wait for the complaints of 3 travels in 4 weeks.
  8. We're a better chance that we've been given credit for. Richmond know there's nothing left to play for in their season, and Bailey's said many times we don't want the spoon.
  9. I love the trumpeter at our home games, however, I didn't really understand why, at the West Coast game, he started up right as the song began playing over the loudspeakers.
  10. I completely agree. We should have at least tried.
  11. Really don't like Frawley in for Martin, but the rest of the changes are good and will better the team. Glad that Maric got back in. Even if Bate is fit I thought dropping him was the right move.
  12. If Geelong don't beat West Coast by more than 100 points they will have done badly. I have a feeling some of the Richmond players will be thinking: 'finals are over, who cares if we win, we're gonna finish 9th', and they might take their mind of the game a bit. Melbourne will be 100% committed to getting a win (which doesn't help us, but anyway). So I think there is a small but significant chance of a Melbourne win.
  13. Yeah I agree Rogue. Even though we're 99.9% certain to get pick 1, Dermie was still making it more of a hypothetical situation, rather than saying: 'Melbourne should take Watts'.
  14. On the other hand, as a club hearing that one of your players doesn't want to go home because he wants to stay at the club, maybe a new contract should be offered.
  15. I read this in the paper where he rates the 3 players and gives his 'verdict'. Basically he says Watts has what it takes but is a long way off being capable of AFL football, whereas Rich is ready to go next year in Round 1 (because Rich plays senior footy already, Watts doesn't). He says Naitanui has enough to work with, and is kind of in between the other two. Overall I think he leans towards Rich because he's ready to play AFL now. If we were to take Watts, we wouldn't get anything out of him until 2010 at the earliest (says Dermie). I still think Watts, but Dermie's suggestion that Neitz, Schwarz and Lyon all evaluate Watts is a good one, and if they have queries the club should listen to them.
  16. That's what I think. However I did hear the other day that Carroll played in the ruck for Sandy, and he's named at FB (which I guess means he definitely is in), so maybe he might ruck a bit.
  17. None of the following club's clash/away/alternative strips contain white: Adelaide - uses red as the predominant colour Essendon - more red than usual Port Adelaide - I cheat here because they use silver instead Richmond - more yellow than usual West Coast - lighter blue than the home strip Each of these clubs' regular jumper is predominantly a dark colour (dark blue or black), like Melbourne, which suggests to me that they would clash with similar teams. 2 weeks ago Adelaide played Essendon and wore their clash strip, and there was no clash. So one would assume that a predominantly red jumper for us wouldn't clash either. I don't know why we were told to have white in our jumper. Maybe this isn't the AFL, but it's the club that wants the white.
  18. That seems probable. Looking at the team, you'd think that White will ruck, with Holland forward, then when White needs a break maybe he'll go to the bench and Holland will ruck.
  19. I'd like Grimes, Holland, Martin, Morton. Wheatley should be in instead of Frawley.
  20. Hopefully they say no to both and use the red design that has been presented numerous times on this forum.
  21. That would be a stupid decision. If Holland is to come in it should be for Newton.
  22. Me neither. If we were to let him go, we wouldn't get what we know he's worth, so basically we'd make a loss. If we at demonland didn't dream, there wouldn't be a demonland.
