  1. I don't want to be one of 'those' guys, but... source? I don't need a link, just interested to know where you got it from!
  2. The HUN is now running with the story that the Crows are all but certain to match any offer Geelong makes for Dangerfield, forcing them to do a trade. I absolutely LOVE this. Not only do I think it's the right thing for the Crows to do but it makes so much more harder for those arrogant handbaggers to get him. I'm stoked the Crows have got the guts to stick up for themselves and at least try and get the fairest deal possible.
  3. Jay Clark actually said that in his trade chat on the HUN website today. Still... quality stuff.
  4. Let's wait for the inevitable 'The Spencer White Thread' or 'The Arryn Siposs Thread' with some pathetic attempt at making them seem like great recruits for us next year. If anyone does starts those threads they deserve to be banned. I hope the mods are paying attention!
  5. Unless West Coast or Adelaide offer up a first rounder, which will of course be higher than that.
  6. This stuff is almost getting as bad as the transfer window in soccer. I can recall Manchester United being linked with about 250 players over the course of a few months. North and Richmond are flavour of the month, they'll get linked with everyone.
  7. I agree with that though - if the Pies try to low ball GWS then they should definitely either send him to the PSD or try and look to deal with others. Pies won't do that though... well, they might to begin with, but if they see sense they'll do the right thing as any club would be stoked to have Treloar.
  8. It sets an awful precedent though that would have ramifications for how they are treated by other clubs in the future. If the Pies come to the trade table and play ball then Treloar goes to the Pies. Imagine if they offered a good deal and GWS told them to get stuffed? No one would want to deal with them again. Face facts - Treloar will be a Pie by the end of the 2 trade weeks.
  9. She is generally on the money with the rumours she puts out there. I'm interested to see if she elaborates on it on Footy Classified tonight.
  10. DeeZee - I get where you're coming from. I really do. Maybe it's having gone through so many of these periods with these rumours being 99% untrue and 1% true that forces me to look at them in such a cold manner. 5-6 years ago I would have held on to some sort of hope that we were involved in these sorts of deals. Not anymore. Leon Cameron's comments are simply meant to put a scare through the Pies as we all know the Tigers were right into Treloar. And we all know it's been Geelong or Adelaide for Dangerfield and has been for a year now. The Hawks have been mentioned every now and then but it's nothing more than scuttlebutt. Dazzle might have got that point across with a sledgehammer... but it's true. We aren't players at all in either deal. I am, however, convinced we have plenty going on behind the scenes to improve our list. It just won't be from either one of these guys.
  11. I was going to say the same thing WJ. There has been nothing at all outside of Caro to suggest there is any legs to this rumour. I hope there is, but there isn't too much to it at the moment.
  12. Let me make a slight alteration: I can speculate in reality, you can speculate in dreamland.
  13. At the rate you're going we will land Dangerfield, Treloar, Prestia and any other high profile player with a heartbeat. I know anything can happen... but this won't. He'll either get himself to Collingwood or end up at a potential premiership threat, such as the Tigers. He has no real reason to overlook either of these teams for us. Plus the Pies will come to the party and do the right thing trade wise, even if it takes the full two weeks.
  14. I know Trav personally - we never made contact with him. Was always going to the Pies.
  15. Why anyone would go to Essendon at the moment is beyond me. A shell of a club.
  16. I'm probably being overly negative, but a quote like that says to me that Cameron is trying to force the Pies into giving them exactly what they want and frightening them into action. Of course there are other clubs who are keen, like the Tigers, and it may scare the Pies and make them be more flexible at the trade table.
  17. Which club with throw up a dud next? The trade period is already annoying and exhausting and it doesn't start for another 3 weeks.
  18. We did try and trade Trengove for a first rounder last year - it fell through when he failed his medical. We would have gotten a last first rounder that we could have packaged with the one we already had. I have no doubt there was something cooking there until the trade fell through. Was it Dangerfield? Maybe, but we'll never know.
  19. No one is stopping you from having a fine shiraz! And I'll see myself out...
  20. I think out of all the players mentioned it is one that has the pieces falling together better than others. Port would need to free up room for Dixon with some of the stars also close to re-signing, and with a few kids coming through they might feel that Hartlett is expendable and worth trading to free up the room AND get a quality kid in the door with a high pick as well. I still think it's a long shot but there is more to it than any other high profile player that's been mentioned so far.
  21. Is there much else to the rumour other than Caro? Obviously he would be a terrific player to get, and with Dixon commanding good money and Shulz re-signing I'm sure they need the cap room. Add Ryder to the mix from last year and Wingard's contract coming up soon and it kind of makes sense. Hartlett is an SA boy so we will do well to convince to come across the border.
  22. I would have, but I wasn't just talking to you. Keep your ego in check.
  23. Don't spoil it for him big fella, he still believes in Santa. Best to leave him be.
  24. No, it's not, and you know it. Not all of his family lives in Moggs Creek. There are plenty who live up in Geelong as well. The sooner you grasp this the better off you'll be.
  25. And I hate that this is constantly used a reference point for any trades on here. Clark wanted money, and when we offered him a truck full of money he was only happy to come here. We all know what sort of bloke he is now which only backs up his decision to 'spurn' his family for money in Melbourne. Dangerfield is totally different. It's family in Geelong or his family in Adelaide. He has no reason to play for us. Money is a non factor to him as he will be well paid by the club and through endorsements he gets in the city. Lying might be the second language of the AFL but delusion seems to be the first language of this board sometimes. He isn't coming to Melbourne.
