  1. Can you stop responding to him dazzle? I've been enjoying having him on my ignore list so I don't have to see any of his posts. I smile every time I read through a thread and I can skip his incoherent drivel. You should do the same.
  2. Couldn't disagree more Franky. We have a young list and plenty of players who still have lots of room to improve. You would hope that, potentially, a vast majority of these - Tyson, Viney, Brayshaw, Hogan, Petracca etc. continue to improve their skills and help to guide us further up the ladder. We would all like a 'big fish', but the reality is that our improvement will come from within the club.
  3. See that record over there Steve? It's broken.
  4. Reference that in the future then mate. Just coming in here with something and not saying where you got it from is bad form. There have been many that have done it over the years so that is why many posters, including myself, are wary of people who come in and put forward a rumour without backing it up. If you had said it was from the Sun then it wouldn't have been a problem.
  5. I think someone is yanking our chain.
  6. Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but Josh Mahoney will be on Trade Radio this arvo with some updates about the clubs dealings for the off season. Should give us a little idea of what we're up to.
  7. I'll be honest, that article was the highlight of my day. Let me have the little things in peace Nasher...
  8. I'll be honest - that article gave me a boner.
  9. I have a feeling he may go back to WA, especially if the McCarthy deal doesn't work out for Freo.
  10. He just has a large stable of clients, and it so happens that a big selection of those are either out of contract or looking for more opportunities. They'll have other managers on and so forth over the coming days, like Ben Niall who is Howe's manager and so forth.
  11. Anything else Melbourne related discussed? Any further news on the Chris Dawes rumour for example? The Toump trade seems like one that would make sense, although I'm probably in the minority who would be slightly disappointed to see him go after only a few seasons on the list. Still felt there was something there to work with, but if the club feels there isn't then I'm happy to (begrudgingly) back them in.
  12. I agree... to a point. Oscar Mac and King are still developing, and to be fair Oscar has been playing as a backman. King has shown glimpses at VFL level but is still some distance away from being a foil for Hogan. Pedersen, and possibly Frost, are our only true options for supporting Hogan if Dawes were to be traded. I still think that leaves us a little light on up forward and getting at least one tall in for further coverage would make sense.
  13. While it has been reported elsewhere, and I believe Channel 7 was the first, the above is never a reason to start a thread on here. The sooner people realise Facebook is a horrid place and not worth your time for trade rumours then the better of we'll all be. IF we were to trade Dawes then you would hope we had a replacement all lined up. While Dawes certainly hasn't set the world alight he does take the pressure off Jesse, and with Fitzy being delisted it leaves us with Pedersen... and not much else. I hope the FD know what they're doing if these rumours are true.
  14. Assuming you mean Jones and Dawes... and yes, I agree. You wouldn't be worried about either of them kicking any goals.
  15. Normally I would 100% agree. Players should be allowed to do those sorts of things, particularly in the off season. No complaint from me. However for a bloke who has a bad history and is looking to repair the perception of him I would have thought partying till 5am in the morning and getting on the grog might not be the best choice he could make. If I were him I would have kept a low profile at all costs.
  16. I thought the same thing re: Dawes - what clubs out there would take him? Of the other 17 clubs you would think that Carlton, Brisbane and possibly even Fremantle might have a look, but I doubt he will garner much interest.
  17. With the impending arrival in PA of Dixon I find it hard to believe that we would get anything decent in return for Toumpas. They will potentially be trading their first rounder for this year and next year which makes it difficult for them to give us something of value for Toumpas. Do they have any players who are decent but have lacked a few opportunities? I don't like the sound of it really.
  18. No, it hasn't. He runs out of gas quicker than any car you could drive. His tank is horrible.
  19. I only think they'll end up with one of the above, two at the most. Leuenberger and Carlisle won't go there, especially Carlisle who has stated he wants to stay in Vic. I don't see GWS letting McCarthy go and I feel they'll put their foot down and play hard ball as he is still under contract for the next 2 seasons. That leaves Jetta and Bennell. Bennell they could probably get for a late second rounder if they want to take the punt, and they would probably part with a first rounder for Jetta. I'm just spit balling these ideas, but it looks like Freo still won't fill a need with key position players and just get more mids. I don't think it puts them in a great spot for another flag tilt next year.
  20. Apparently he was out on the grog until 5am in Melbourne after the Brownlow. I don't care how talented he is - after everything that's happened you would think you would be on your best behaviour to prove to clubs you were worth a punt. But to miss a medical and then go out on the grog is just unacceptable.
  21. Has one of the worst tanks in the AFL. Good for half a quarter and then goes missing. Thankfully our club aren't stupid enough to even consider it.
  22. What does that have to do with Django's post?
  23. I don't know why people do it. 95% of the time they are horribly lopsided in our favour, as if another club will happily take a rubbish pick or one of our deadwood players and give us something good in return. But you can't tell them that. It's their opinion and their trade scenarios and if we can't come up with some just as ridiculous then we need to be quiet. Laughable.
  24. I think this has been lost on many of us over the last month - in the hoopla some have created about getting him, or adding him in to every new thread with "gee I hope we can land Prestia and Parker" etc, it's been forgotten that he is fighting back from a pretty serious injury and may not actually be worth recruiting at all. My gut feeling, and it's nothing more than that, is that by holding off for 12 months it gives us and Dion the opportunity to see how he comes back from injury. If it's good then I could certainly see us getting him next year, but if he struggles again you would think the club would stay away from him. I don't care if he and his family are Melbourne supporters - we shouldn't recruit anyone who is going to struggle to get on the park, no matter how good they are. Thanks for the timely follow up WJ.
  25. You know what the forum needs? A dedicated area with that has threads on certain players that are updated only when there is legit news. A twitter post from a journo, something mentioned on Trade Radio etc. It can only be updated by the mods, or you can only post news - there is no discussion, just news. You can discuss it all here though. It would make it easier to log in and see if there was something REALLY happening, rather than sifting through page after page to find there is no news at all. Just a suggestion...
