  1. And I shake my head at supporters like yourself. What a sad way to go in to each game, not believing we can win. We have had a real crack in every game this year, today will be no different. Hawks will probably be too strong for us, but looking forward to seeing our exciting, young talent having a real crack today. Anything is possible.
  2. Or cue the commentators talking them up as if they're back and bound for finals in 2017. Nothing surer than toss pots like BT salivating over this nothing victory.
  3. Gee the Pies stink. But so do the Tigers. Which club bites the bullet first and gives their coach the flick? Neither Dimma or Buckley are going to get them back into finals contention.
  4. Scott Thompson? He turned out pretty well, so I guess our recruiting team got that one right, even if he did go home.
  5. I wait in earnest to hear more of your views about the footy club, barney. You are such a positive soul.
  6. Both Harmes and M Jones are on even ground at the moment - I still have nightmares of Jones missing Dawes from 30 metres away under no pressure. For all his improvements he is still an ordinary kick.
  7. Barrett just said that the Hawks are keen on Prestia, but are also very keen on Tom Mitchell as well, and there is every chance they could get both with the use of future picks IF they decide to play there. So much for equalisation, eh? He didn't say if either wanted to play there, but that the Hawks have already met with Prestia and they are VERY keen on Mitchell.
  8. Quickly becoming one of my favourite players. Has a little 'X-factor' about him, and while there is still room for improvement, when he's on song his left foot and gut running are up there with the best at the club. As you say Nasher, let's hope he continue to improve over his next 50!
  9. That's a very, very good side. In 2 years time. Reckon we'll give it a real shake on Saturday.
  10. I don't understand the first sentence in relation to my post, but Roos himself said in his presser that they won't leave a decision on him until Saturday morning - if he is still too sore tomorrow then he doesn't play, but they are naming him tonight in the hope that he comes up well tomorrow.
  11. Roos also mentioned that they are naming Hogan to play, but will see how he pulls up tomorrow. If he is no good then he'll be a late change.
  12. I would assume as much. Or Dawes get's dropped...
  13. Weideman to make AFL debut against Hawks Well done to the lad, looking forward to seeing him play!
  14. I speak for all when I say - God I hope you're right GNF!
  15. It's happened to Prestia a number of times. It happened to Petracca once. Bit of a difference. I don't think his knee if 'stuffed', so to speak, I just think there is now considerable risk in trading for him, especially with him breaking down again at the end of this season. Edit - Prestia will have missed 9 games this year and 15 last year. That's a lot of time on the sidelines. It doesn't mean he won't come good from there, but it's still with considerable risk.
  16. That's if we're even interested. I haven't really seen any concrete reports, other than speculation, that we are.
  17. Midfield, to me, isn't their main concern either. They have no support for Riewoldt, who is getting nowhere near it, plus they have only one decent backman in Rance and no ruckman. They have a few decent kids but they lack talent, skills and polish in so many areas. Prestia, with dodgy knees, won't fix any of those problems. I know I've joked with you about Prestia in the past, and while I would have been happy to get him to Melbourne, I think that all signs now point to him going elsewhere. Whether we stopped our interest after last year's trade period, or we don't trust his knees to hold up, it's clear we have our sights set on other players.
  18. Spot on dazzle. They should be looking at their list and going full rebuild. Plugging a few gaps will get them nowhere. I think they'll try and offload Deledio for a first rounder, but who wants to give that up for a bloke who is almost 30 with a body that is failing him?
  19. It's all about the coin. Prestia knows he is probably on borrowed time with his knees and Richmond will be throwing panic cash his way, and good on him if he takes it. Sets him up for the future. We are obviously focused on getting Hibberd into the club, and no doubt we have our eyes on others as well. Prestia isn't the answer for Richmond, though. Recruiting him makes little sense to me.
  20. This. He is a great kick, just sometimes makes the wrong decision. One poor decision doesn't make him a bad kick.
  21. While I agree with this, if you put your opinion out there then you should also expect, and accept, that others will disagree with it and voice that accordingly. Ignoring those that disagree almost goes against what a forum is for - discussion. If he thinks Tyson is overrated and his game on the weekend wasn't flash, then he has to expect the backlash and accept that others (including myself) believe he is wrong. It is just his opinion, but at the same time that doesn't mean it isn't a wrong one.
