Get stuffed Matt Jones. Under ZERO pressure he can't hit a target 30 metres away.
-
Gold Coast have started well and their structures are better. We just need to tighten things up and use the ball better going forward.
-
Brisbane kicked the first 2 yesterday as well. Let's not get carried away.
-
It will be his last... For 5 minutes anyway...
-
Not until you stop being so positive!
-
I'm nervous.

I remember there was the odd recruiter, back in the day, who said that they would have taken Vickery with the first pick in the '08 draft. I'm assuming none of them currently have jobs in the industry at present.

Who goes first - Leppa or Dimma?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
Wiseblood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree Ricky, although even an eternal optimist like myself who looks for the positives in most things will find it a hard pill to swallow if we get done tomorrow. If we want to move on from just being a 'middle of the road' side then games like tomorrow are the ones we need to win without too much hassle. -
Yep, and a stark reminder of how far we've come since then.
-
They are an absolute basket case at the minute. Regardless of their win last week, they are worse than the drug cheats.
-
John Butcher - 15 touches, 10 marks, 3 goals at 3 quarter time. He must be turning the... oh, wait. It's against Brisbane. Carry on.
-
You're boring. You've missed the point entirely and also missed the fact that I said, twice, that I was disappointed in the game last week. Doesn't mean I have to take a dumb stance about it.
-
And that's the crux of it. If we let both go, who do we recruit to fill the void who plays their roles better? Weideman and Hulett can't ruck, and it would be disappointing to see us let both go only to recruit someone *cough* Vickery *cough* who is a sideways step, not a forward one.
-
If we had played West Coast at the G, in similar conditions, a few weeks ago and been soundly beaten then I would agree. It would be very disappointing. But we didn't. We played them on their home turf, much of it wet, slippery conditions, and if not for wasted opportunities that we should have taken, we win the game. We didn't win it, but to suggest that our game against the Eagles is somehow similar to the one today and that things will 'get ugly' if the Pies get up is a sad, naive and short sighted response. It's a response for those posters who love to wallow in negativity and they'll look for ANY way to push that feeling on others. I say get stuffed. Any reasonable Melbourne supporter would be disappointed with last week's loss (myself included), but see today's outcome, if the Pies get up, as not even close to a reflection of last week or that it shows we are 'behind' the Pies. It's nonsense.
-
You're such a frustrating poster. We kick straight, we win. Pies winning today means zilch and has no reflection on us at all. For an 'old' poster you sure do post thoughts that seemingly come from a 5 year old with little knowledge of footy.
-
Too short? Please. That's a weak argument. He is younger than Grimes and has plenty of scope for improvement in him. We know what we're going to get with Grimes. Big difference.
-
That's the one thing that I feel puts us ahead of the rest - we have been in EVERY game this year, and with some luck and more experience we could be a serious finals chance. If we can offer a decent deal then he would be crazy to ignore it and go somewhere like Ninthmond.
-
He should walk at the end of the day if this continues. I could see Browny writing that article after a slab of VB. That's the only reasonable explanation for it. Take nothing away from the Giants so far though, they are a seriously good footy side.
-
By the end of the day he'll be the new Wayne Carey. Olisik, who dubbed him as such in relation to Lucas Cook, can't watch footy any better than a blind man could.
-
Yes. Giants are playing sublime footy, Tigers are simply atrocious. No run, missing targets, the lot.
-
They were dumb enough to sign him up to a long term deal at the start of the season. It will probably cost them a truck load of dollars to sack him.
-
Goal to Weideman, lead back out to 8 points - 2.2 to 1.0.
-
Tigers are terrible. Jono Brown was trying to argue in the HUN today that they don't need to sack Dimma or make big changes at season's end. He's kidding himself. They have a few good players and the rest are in the average to rubbish region.
-
I'm just waiting for the Tigers or Carlton to kick a couple of goals in a row this afternoon so some can proclaim that they've 'gone past us'.
