  1. I have no idea what you're talking about. Literally, no idea.
  2. There are plenty of tall spuds out there at the minute. If we're going all out mentioning Vickery and Daw, why don't we chase Billy Longer from St. Kilda? Yeah? YEAH??
  3. He was credited with 7. As were Gawn and Vince, while Brayshaw and Dawes had 6. He made some mistakes yesterday, but he had 29 touches and 10 tackles as well. He worked his backside off all day and you gave him little credit for that. I guess that's what you get when you only work with 3 words.
  4. No we don't. If it was the worst then we would be in the bottom 4. Clearly our gameplan works - it overuses the handball a little, and a young side will make some glaring mistakes at times, but the gameplan has shown that it CAN stand up to opposition in the Top 8 (North, WCE, Hawthorn), but it needs everyone to play their role and to play it for 120 minutes. When it falls down, we do too.
  5. Not only that, but we ignored (like other clubs) a bloke who would have been handy in our forward line - Jack Darling. Cook failed because he didn't make the transition to AFL footy very well and, as we all know, our ability to develop young talent at that time wasn't exactly good. Edit - you also mentioned the 4 midfield draft - it's unbelievable to think that, if we decide not to offer Trengove another contract, that all 4 of those midfielders won't be on our list next year. They were supposed to be our nucleus right now. Just further proof of how we stuffed up and how far it really did put us back.
  6. I won't call you wrong. I'll call you naive. To make that call now, without either of them having completed a season of football in the AFL, is as short sighted as they come. Grow up a bit and look past your nose.
  7. Couldn't agree more, Clint. I think they are fielding their weakest side in the modern era at the moment, yet they still find ways to win due to their structure and ability to stick to the game plan at all costs. Just interviewing Adem Yze at three quarter time. What a player he was in his prime.
  8. Any chance she could post here? She knows more about footy than you do Saty.
  9. As do I with you OD. I'm just baffled why people want to just use the throwaway line about the scoreboard. We lost, I hate that and I was shattered to see us go down like we did, but we can also still look at the game objectively and the positives we can take from it. Just shutting people down with the 'we lost, that's all that matters' line is just, as you say, silly.
  10. Lock the thread then guys. We're not allowed to analyse the game or look at anything even remotely positively from the weekend. In fact, someone email Roos and tell him the same thing. Tell him not to go over the tape, educate his players, praise them on the things they did well and show them what they need to work on to try and eliminate the mistakes from this time. It's pointless apparently, just like the discussion on a football forum. Carry on.
  11. Are we? Still, my point stands. The thread said 'rule change for 2017' and I provided one.
  12. You don't think everyone gets that, OD? Just because some choose to look at a variety of aspects in a game doesn't mean we don't get that to win we need to play better overall. We're still allowed to assess the positives from a game as well.
  13. If we're talking about a rule change, the AFL should outlaw the third man up at a ruck contest. It's a 'ruck' contest for a reason, not our fault if your ruckman is poo and can't compete with Gawny.
  14. Plus you would think Prestia knows that his future isn't guaranteed, so he's looking for a big pay day in case it doesn't work out. I'm sure we've got our eye on other players out there.
  15. We could also easily be on 10 wins had we not dropped very winnable games. Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?
  16. A must win next week on our home turf and against a side who are missing plenty of key players. Do we make any changes? I guess it all depends on how the players pull up and what happens down at Casey, but we might go in unchanged after yesterday's effort. Fire away with the changes!
  17. The Saints are a middle of the road side - put them in a potential final interstate or at the MCG and they will get smashed. Too much Etihad is not good for your health. I'd like to believe that we can do better than them, and we've won in QLD, gone extremely close in WA and been beaten by a bigger Swans side in torrential rain. We can win at more venues (as we get more experience) and that will hold us in far better stead than the Saints.
  18. Cheers for looking that up. That's why the Saints don't scare me, nor do I believe they are 'further ahead' than us. You need to be able to play outside footy to win the big one and progress, and they've looked TERRIBLE outside of Etihad. Two of those games played outside saw them smashed by 100 and 88 points.
  19. Would love to know how many games the Saints have won outside of Etihad. Wouldn't be many. Played well but very lucky with the Dogs having so many injuries. Still a middle of the road side like us.
  20. Pretty much spot on P-man. He had 20 touches to go with 9 tackles... but also 6 clangers. He will clean that up in time, especially after missing so much footy. What I do like about him is that he seems to make the right decision with ball in hand. How often does he hit a target inside 50 or fire off a handpass to the right player? As you say, he will be a very good player at the very least.
  21. I think you're right about the game plan as it stands. However, you would hope that as they get older and more games into the legs they would be able to assess these situations a little better - such as getting the ball forward a little quicker, hitting that target under pressure and kicking key goals that give us the breathing room. Our side at the moment lacks in those areas, but with more experience that should get better.
