Absolutely. All over them at the minute.

Oskar baker you star!
-
Started with Melksham in the middle and Trac deep forward. Don't mind that really. Already looks slippery.
-
I'm surprised you passed it on to be honest. I figured you might have smacked him on the head with it.
-
No names on it because supporters aren't proud to belong after our last two games.
-
Can you stay sober long enough to start a thread on whoever stinks it up tonight? We might need that in a few hours.
-
No mate, I didn't. Sorry! Why do you ask?
-
My money is on after our first turnover for the night. What is the real kicker is that the weather up there tonight is perfect. Just rubbing salt in the wound.
-
Did he do a hammy while warming up with the boys, GC?
-
And if anyone here is going to harbour some expectations after the last two games, it will be me! Seriously though, I'm not expecting anything out of this contest.
-
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm well and truly primed to have my Saturday night ruined.
-
Great. That's one example. I think it's fair to say that the overarching attitude is that we, as supporters, want people in key posts who will run this club professionally and set a high standard of expectations across the board. I don't care if that ends up being a Melbourne person or a non-Melbourne person. Peter Jackson wasn't a Melbourne person and he's been the best thing to happen to this club in the last 20 years. What we want are people who are going to buy in to the club, as Jackson did, and bring their smarts, professionalism etc to the job and the task at hand. When we get those decisions right then everything else will fall into place.
-
Can we win this game? Absolutely. Can we improve on the last two games? Undoubtedly. Do I have confidence we can do both of the above? No. I have absolutely no idea how we'll go tonight, but I do know that there will be some impressive passages of play bookended by other pieces of play that will age us all another 10 years.

Weid has kicked 19 goals in 11 games. Mihocek 17 in 14 games. Having said that, Mihocek would be a handy addition to our forward line, although I think if you sniffed around enough it would just force Collingwood to up their offer and re-sign him.

It can't be a good sign when Preuss is being selected ahead of you and, when that doesn't work, Mitch Brown gets another run as well. For what it's worth, I agree with the decision not to play him. He is so far removed from the player he was in 2018 that it's quite sad. I really thought he was going to hold down that position for years to come. It seems almost unreal that two years on we're talking of trading him.
-
Outside of Lockhart missing out, which continues to be a head scratching decision, I'm not sure what else we could do in this situation. The Preuss experiment was a silly one, and they've rectified that with Brown coming in. It might even signal the end for Tom Mac, although with a few years left on his contract we would have to find a buyer, which could be difficult. Spargo makes sense purely from the standpoint that Bedford isn't really up to it. ANB and Melksham aren't popular choices, but who else do we have to replace them? Brayshaw, Harmes, Jones, Jackson etc are all injured and we don't really have anyone else waiting in the wings. We're stuck at the moment.

Caro has most certainly 'faded' in terms of being close to what is going on in AFL circles these days. I mean, one minute she says that people want Smith to challenge for presidency, before then saying he is focused on his firm and, therefore, won't be challenging. So... what was the point of that? In terms of Bartlett and the board, the article smacks of a few people not being happy with something Bartlett has done, so they have have complained to Caro and she's gone with an article. She isn't shy about sinking the boots into Bartlett either. The one thing, if true, that we can take from it is around Goodwin's contract and that he would need to meet certain criteria to trigger the final year in 2022. That might mean that the club holds fire on him until they see how things unfold next season. Things can change of course - roll over poorly in our last two games and we may have no choice but to sack him, but if that is true about his contract then I think we need to strap ourselves in for Goodwin to be in charge come next season.

All I've got to say is that I'm happy to see Nev back in the side!

I know the question wasn't phrased for me, but I think I'd take it to be honest. I've been conflicted throughout the season around Jack. On the one hand, he is our vice captain, can play to a high level and is clearly the sort of player you want in the trenches around finals time. On the other hand, it's been clearer this season that his style of play can also be to the detriment of the team, and at 26, he may have peaked somewhat. He doesn't always make good decisions and he isn't a good user of the footy either. If the club, and Jack, parted ways respectfully then I think I'd be okay with it. But if it went pear shaped then it could hurt us down the track. So, if Jack said he would like to move on, and the Cats offered something like the above, then I think I would do it and move on.

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/geelong/geelong-eyeing-free-agent-jack-viney-in-bid-to-strengthen-midfield/news-story/798fd6278582bef47832d9863a47bc71 Apparently the Cats are targeting Viney, or Crouch, during free agency. There are no specific quotes as such, just some speculation that they are keen on him and that, if he were to go, he would command around 650k a season which would likely trigger a first round compo pick for us. The article does go on to say that we are still talking to Viney about a new contract and that we could still easily lock him away to a new deal in the next month or so.

Just goes to show how quickly an unsubstantiated rumour can gather legs and become gospel.

Site looks back to normal for me, Andy. Checked my mobile and things seem to be running smoothly there as well. ?
-
The article stated that, if he looked to move on, it is at a Melbourne based club: Narkle, 22, is out of contract and understood to be open to a move if it eventuates, preferably to a Melbourne-based club.
-
Why would he go on a fan podcast and say he wouldn't be coaching? Even if that was the plan, he would never discuss it publicly.

Or Damian Barrett is his new manager?
