Not too far fetched to say that was one of the worst halves of footy I've ever seen. Everyone else can talk about the negatives. Viney BOG for us so far. Back line holding up okay. Rivers continues to do some good things and I've liked the move of Melksham to Fyfe. Other than that... there aint much else...

I didn't say it was. It's why I highlighted clearances and contested possies, which are what we build our game on.

The damning stats for me are: Tackles - we had 7 for the term. And marks - they were still able to take 29 marks in that weather. We gave them too much time and space to switch the play and hit up the short 20-30 metre leads. Pressure needs to lift big time.

When you look at the stats, we're doing okay. We lead in clearances and contested possies. However, the same problem arises - when we go forward, the ball is hitting the deck, and they run it out with ease. There were at least three times they ran it from half back to inside 50 without us touching it. Our set up is letting us down big time. And let's be honest - these conditions don't suit guys like ANB, Vanders, Smith etc. Fumbles and turnovers galore.

I said before the game that the seven changes made relative sense considering the short break between games, but Fritta down back smacks of desperation. Our back six was working well - why mess with it?
