True, although Geelong aren't known for making crazy offers. The quote from earlier doesn't give away much. Another straight bat answer that really doesn't tell us anything. With finals still on the line, of course Viney is going to say he wants to stay. You don't say otherwise at this point in the season no matter where your head is at. Miss out on finals this weekend and I'd say we will hear pretty quickly of his intentions.

Is the type of player we should be targeting. Would give us some serious pace and some good kicking skills off half back and through the wings. However, he is not the most defensive minded player going around, and you have to wonder how that would fit with our back six when you look at how May praised Rivers for working on that aspect of his game.
-
Media will do that for them. They are desperate for Carlton to be something half decent and will do all in their power to talk them up after any and every win.
-
While he didn't hit the scoreboard, I thought Mitch Brown was good for us tonight. 13 touches and 7 marks and he got up the ground to give us a target as well. His experience was on full display throughout this game. Makes the decision to drop him last week for Preuss look even worse than it already did.

Wonderful recruit. He was everything we needed on the wing. Now, if someone like Baker can also step up to play a consistent game on the wing, then we would REALLY have something.
-
Dear Jason Taylor, Thank you so much for Trent Rivers. We love him. Sincerely, Most Melbourne supporters.
-
That's a bloke who knows that the job isn't done. That's the maturity we want. Be happy with the win, but we need to focus on next week very quickly.
-
Just incredibly proud. Our season is still alive, which is unreal considering all the talk throughout the week that the board, the coach, certain players etc were all done for. The kids really stood up for us. Rivers outstanding, Spargo had a big say in that last term, Baker showed some good signs and, as usual, guys like Trac did some really good things for us. Lots still to dissect, especially with some of the usual turnovers and silly mistakes, but we stood up tonight and it was great to see. However, not sure I can bring myself to watch next week. I'll be too damn nervous!

He did okay in the end. Still doesn't make me feel better about him, but credit where credit is due. Spargo having a very good last term too.
-
100% expected him to kick it after he last two.
-
Ha ha, such a Melbourne supporter attitude. I love it!
-
He kicked it!
-
Oh Nev, still giving 100% for us. You have to love him.
-
Can Spargo teach Fritta how to kick for goal?
-
How the hell is that a free against Oliver? Terrible decision. Viney with his third holding the ball for the night.
-
We are winning clearances, but are -20 in contested possies. If we want to have any chance at winning this game then we need to win that stat in the last term. We can still win this but we also look as though w're just holding on by the skin of our teeth. Could we get a little bit of luck? We're well overdue.

Mitch Brown has been good getting up the ground. Showing even more why it was such a dumb decision to play Preuss last week.
-
They were ALWAYS going to kick a goal then.
-
Love it! Stick that right your clacker, Mummy!
-
ANB then with a soft piece of play. Jumped up then packed his pants and handpassed it to no one.
-
Disagree. His turnover cost us a goal, and it was a shocker. But he hasn't been beaten one on one, taken a few intercept marks and made plenty of important spoils. Far from our worst. Melksham and Viney on the other hand...
-
You almost contradict yourself a little there, mate. On one hand you say Max got slaughtered in those last 10 minutes, which you seem to hint had a direct impact on their late dominance. But then you say the position is overrated. By your logic, if Max stays on top, we do and as a result we play good footy... which would suggest it isn't overrated.
-
Lever had a shocker of a turnover, no doubt about that. But he hasn't been beaten one on one and has spoiled numerous entries by getting to the right positions.
-
He's having a bit of a shocker tonight. Just the four touches and he's been caught twice holding the ball. One of the main senior players who needs to lift.
-
I mean, we're playing much better than the last two weeks, although that wouldn't be hard. But through a combo of horrible umpiring and some even worse turnovers we're going in level at half time. Well and truly still in it, but unless we fix up those mistakes, we won't win this game of footy.
