  1. I think he's taking into account the pick they may get for Neale?
  2. Port did last year. Gold Coast need and will get players. GWS would trade Shiel as he's likely to leave next year plus they are under massive cap pressure. I'm not saying my scenario would or will happen, I'm just providing ideas that it could happen. I do not rate Shiel, May or Martin as highly as most, even though they are handy players. My actual point was, would people be happy to lose Hogan if we gained better players and more depth.
  3. Preuss comes for peanuts (2nd or 3rd round), Gaff is a free agent (no picks required), Shiel/Martin and May can come via Freo trade (for eg 2 early picks), Lever is already on the list so doesn't require anything. Perhaps discuss the topic than be a smartarse? It's all very doable, as Mahoney has said, we have enough cap space for 2 stars. Vince retiring ($500k), Hogan leaving ($800k), Lewis/Jones contracts likely front loaded, extra space via the new cap plus whatever we have backloaded since the new system took place (which North have done). Obviously we would lose players, possibly Frost, Kent, Hunt etc.
  4. Yeah he didn't even win the Brownlow so I'd ship him off quick smart.
  5. What if we lose Hogan and get Preuss, Gaff, May, Shiel, Jack Martin as well as getting Lever back next year - would people be happy then?
  6. The other question also is, when Jesse's contract is up, what is he going to ask for? $1.2-$1.5m? That's another factor at play here that hasn't been mentioned much. It could be a value for money thing, risk v reward.
  7. Cats, Dogs, Crows, Blues, Bombers, Saints, Port all looking for a number 1 ruck and theirs are near the end, Gawn only 26. Very interesting.
  8. It needs looking in to. Some of last nights voting was shocking at best. Gone are the days of real class and match winners in Voss, Hird, Judd, Buckley, Cousins etc. It just isn't worth watching these days and if you speak to a few players they will quietly tell you they rate the AFLCA and AFLPA awards much higher.
  9. Well actually it wasn't, he was running at 51% DE.
  10. Yes stats are nice but it's what you do with those disposals that should count.
  11. It makes absolutely no sense to me this, unless one of our big guys are on the move. We need a backup sure, but this guy could be first ruck at probably 8-9 clubs. Something is cooking in the kitchen I feel.
  12. Oh well, spring is here and the snapper are already biting. Am looking forward to see what talent we bring in. We also did well to get as far as we did without our CHF and CHB.
  13. We had brutal opposition for 6 games in a row was my point, dwell in misery, I'm already over it and looking forward to next year.
  14. All I keep thinking about is the dropped games vs Cats x 2, STK and Port.......what could have been.
  15. A couple of things that have annoyed me: 1. Brayshaw constantly using his left foot when he can use his right, the ball goes up in the air and half the side off the side of his foot making the ball spin wonky, he needs to use that right foot when he can for penetration, when he uses his left it just looks like hes showing off. 2. Petraccas set shots for goals and one step field kicking. 3. Lewis, Jones, Tyson. Can the club make the hard calls. 4. On a sunny 26'c day in Perth, how can we slip and fall over as much as we did, I just cannot believe it. 5. Just a bad day, every club has them. 0 goals in a half of a prelim is shattering and embarrassing, but all in all a positive year. 6. The boys started to look tired v Hawks, we had the toughest run home of anyone don't forget. WCE in Perth, Sydney, GWS then Cats, Hawks and WCE in Perth again. I'm looking forward to see what Jason Taylor etc can bring in, we seriously lack polish and skill, have done for decades.
  16. Goalless at 1/2 time in a VFL / #AFLFinal 1897 Essendon 1897 Melbourne 1901 Collingwood 1903 Geelong 1905 Collingwood 1908 St Kilda 1913 St Kilda 1927 Richmond 2018 Melbourne
  17. Lewis set the tone early for a young side with his stupidity and unprofessional brain fades and Jones had 8 touches to 3/4 time and laid 0 tackles for the game and he’s a captain. I’ll leave it at that, but those two did not lead from the front one bit, the rest followed badly.
  18. Nathan Jones and Lewis absolutely horrendous today. Jones 8 touches in 3 quarters (again goes missing) and Lewis has been so dumb it is alarming. Gawn 6 touches, Tyson and Milkshake 8 each, Weid and Frost way out of depth
  19. 9 tackles 2/3 way through 2nd quarter, WTF? Jones should retire
  20. Smith for Tyson wouldn't be a bad decision IMO, coinsidering WCE forward line, I'm happy either way but another intercept defender wouldn't hurt IMO. I've warmed to it.
