  1. Maybe the last two years of personal issues have caught up with him and he wants to be out of the spotlight and enjoy the rest of his life for what it is? Or he's had an offer to good to refuse, ie $1.5m x 7? The club is bigger than one player, we wish him well and we continue to build a premiership list.
  2. Cam McCarthy? Yes he did, but that was GWS playing the hard game IIRC. Melbourne wouldn't be dumb enough, surely? He's actually fairly useless, that's why they want Hogan lol
  3. For discussion sake, if Jesse stays this year and decides he wants to go next year, what are we likely to get for him vs what we could this year?
  4. I do like the idea of Hogan or Weid playing CHB. Hoges has lost that contested aerial ability for whatever reason but his field kicking is quite good? Whereas Sam flies and has good presence. I like what Frosty brings also, but I'm done with heart in mouth backmen, we need consistently good decision makers. May, while no superstar, upgrades what we have for sure.
  5. Yep which is what I said in a few posts after that, if it helps us get 2 early picks then so be it, as long as it's not overs I'm happy.
  6. All good, I did mention a package deal earlier, was more that the club was interested in Billings in his draft year. Would replace Bugg with goalkicking
  7. Hopefully all footage is lost mate!
  8. Because Saints dont have picks to give us, I threw it out there as a discussion point, not saying he is coming. Settle petal.
  9. Do you or anyone have any images of him in the Coaches box v WCE? He was at the Geelong game from memory, but I'm unsure of others.
  10. What is Billings worth?
  11. Shame to lose him, has potential but is no use to us when always injured, package up with Tyson for something half decent. If Kent and Hogan go, thats 9 list changes already? Sweep that broom lol
  12. Off topic, but earlier this year Fox went to a clip of Eddie McGuire going off his chops at a Collingwood game. Then Eddie clarified on TripleM on the Monday that he wasn't even at the game! So I don't believe anything anymore, those lengths are boundaries too far IMO.
  13. Yep I'm with ya mate. I just wish they'd fix the rules they introduced first before going for more.
  14. I'm unsure Cards, but I do remember someone, maybe Fox saying he was there?
  15. You'd hope he would be at the clubs most important training session and game surely, wouldn't you?
  16. To show his support for the club and players before such an important game, I agree, red flag.....
  17. I think coaches will counter this by making sure they try and force a stoppage straight away to allow to push players back if getting beaten. Just my thoughts, who bloody knows, I wouldn't have brought in this rule in the first place!
  18. I wouldn't be surprised to see Frost traded TBH.
  19. It's only going ahead for centre bounces, so basically wont make SFA difference IMO.
  20. All along I have wanted May, he improves us and is an upgrade on Oscar and Frost, but I dont think a top 10 pick is fair value.
  21. I don't expect him to go for less than $800k though, I expect he'll go for $1.2-$1.5m. Whether we have to pay 15% like Watts remains to be seen however both totally different comparisons. To get the picks we need, we may have to cough some up and that's fine by me, as long as it isnt over the top.
  22. The same outragists who howled me down for suggesting May at the Dees, then look who we met last week and have been linked with..... Footy has changed these days, supporters become too emotionally attached to players never wanting them to leave and that's fine, but footy has become a serious billion dollar industry. Footy has changed, I don't like the way it's heading but I have to accept it. It's like fans who admire the loyalty of Nathan Jones from the dark years, they can't think clearly to see he has been utterly terrible for most of the year, never stands up when needed and appreciated the way he burrows in to get the hard ball only to cough it up and turn it over. The club needs to handle his exit carefully but the time is soon. I was never for or against trading Jesse, but I'm always open to ideas and getting maximum value out of a player, whether that be ideas about positional changes or trades. The fact of the matter is, be prepared to lose your favourite player, footy is a business now and never believe any word from any player, club, CEO or AFL for that matter as there's always workings going on behind the scenes that we will never hear about, that's why I'm always happy to discuss trading any player. Also contracts aren't really worth the paper they're written on either, at any club. As Paul Roos and Chris Scott say, any player is tradeable for the right price. Whether Jesse stays or goes we don't know, but from a club perspective, right now is the time to cash in on maximum value if he were to ever leave. The fact that he won't extend and is open to a trade tells me he's already halfway out the door anyway. I expect to get 2 x picks under 10 for Jesse FWIW. My biggest concern that nobody has mentioned is, who pays his salary next year if he goes considering he's reportedly on $800k here.
  23. Good point, the fact he won't sign this summer and is open to a trade suggests his head may be already out the door anyway, I wonder for how long.
  24. Thats OK, Jones, Lewis will be gone by then and maybe Hibberd, Jetta also.
