Don't think we can afford to lose Chaplin right now tbh, if that's true.

2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen
Needs to work on forward craft, needs to work on playing in front, leading and a big emphasis on actually marking, ball bounces off his hands a lot more than it should. Seems better in the ruck than the forward line. A big 2026 for JVR.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
And there it all was, in 2017, more about himself than team success. A lot of talk and what now looks like self centred perhaps. Thanks for helping win the flag, but seeya Christian.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I applaud the club and new regime for their honesty, clearly we all seen the Goodwin and his favourites mantra and now many of those same boys club are feeling the heat as they arent comfy anymore. This is the circuit breaker we needed, as Goodwin couldn't deliver it, don't get me wrong, it would be hard to part with the crew that brought the ultimate success but you just have to break it all down with a clear mind. May is well and truly cooked, he can barely bend over and he isn't getting back to his best. Also, it is pretty obvious for all the good he brought, that he is toxic and a troublemaker off the field, this isn't good for our culture. Petracca is a shell of his former self, it seems to be a bit of all about Christian, perhaps a taste of business success outside of footy has brought this on. 30yo, pulling out of contests and how could anyone forgive him for his dragging the club through mud last year as well. I also don't think he lived up to his own expectations and standards this year, was surprised he finished R/U in the BnF. Oliver. hasn't been himself on or off field for years, thought his last game was great, but he is a headache for the club in more ways than one & I won't go into it further. Spargo - meh, 25 games in 3yrs? Doesn't get enough of it as a mid, doesn't kick enough goals as a forward, no mans land. McVee I think stitched the club over with not being honest from the get-go, he was going back to WA over a year ago I'm told. Bring on the fresh start and clean out of people who don't want to get their hands dirty and lift the club up. Hawks survived without Franklin, then Hodge and Lewis. All will be OK in the end, patience will be required. 2021 was 4yrs ago, stop referring to it, we aren't that team anymore, cherish it by all means but we need to move forward as a club before we do actually implode.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
More so for him finding his feet, list changes etc. I agree that there isnt too many new ways to play the game, it all has the same core. Thanks Demonstone, misinformation everywhere, he was captain for 4 yrs 2003-2006.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Re King, I think it's important for everyone as a whole not to expect a rebound or too much in 2026. May be wise to expect more in 2027. Patience while he settles in would be appreciated.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I'll be honest and put my hand up here. I have no issues with Bassett, however I feel Jones has a loser mentality, having lost close to 75% of the games he played with us and only knows the Melbourne way. He was also part of a very under performing midfield this year too. I think its best he was moved on and go learn a different skill set elsewhere before coming back, just an opinion thats all.

Now a dream would be that Cats lose the prelim and he starts a week earlier ;)

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
So 1 premiership & how many GF's, is it 3? Knows what it takes.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Definitely wasnt who I thought it was gong to be, however lets see how it all goes. I do like the ballsy decision from the club, however I probably wouldve asked Buckley the main question at the start, not to waste his or our time. Some Geelong intel is exactly what we need. Now we just need Stephen Wells.

2025 Membership Ladder
Alarm bells time.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
OK, I thought I read somewhere he was doing it tough after the divorce and had to sell memorabilia etc. Yes we all know that re Buckley, however he has also been enjoying his cushy media role too.
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Was it Buckley, who not long ago was dealing with financial hardship? Perhaps he will see the $$$ signs with Tassie. But I don't think he would come this far and pull out now....
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
The good old "give me 8 things Andrew to pump out for you, but it comes with a clause that I jab you twice in return" - that'll trick em'

MEMBERSHIP TALLY 2025

2025 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy
Surprised no TMAC (only 17 games) or Turner up there, or Rivers either. Thought Turner had a very solid year and was the highest rated backman in the league for a while in the last part of the year (fox footy), unsure which stat exactly. I would've had MAX, Pickett, Bowey, then Petracca. I thought Oliver's last match was outstanding.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Just imagine if Buckley pulled out now.....just imagine for a sec. I have a feeling we are going to hear more about this coaching process in time. I wonder who is the main interviewer for these applicants?

Delistings 2025
Wow thats woeful on Billings, actually feel sorry for him, [censored] by the club to be fair

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
You can't blame these guys really when we are honest with ourselves and where we are at on & off field lately.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
At the moment it just looks like many don't want a bar of us! Seems a bit of an odd process.

Rule changes proposed for 2026
Go back to basics with the rules I say, mid 90's.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Glad I'm not the only one who had this thought. Devils haven't even got a decision on their stadium yet, Seems a clear intent to land Buckley now, wait and see I suppose.
