What I don't get is, why is Goodwin persisting with this bomb long game plan? Why wouldn't he say to Sam, lead to the right areas and we'll pass it to you. Crumbers still play a part if he drops it and seems much simpler to me. Unsure what is with the bomb long thing, maybe he wants to maximise pressure on defenders. Personally I'd prefer Sam to lead, mark, kick.

I think Sam may be one of those players where he will do what he did on Saturday and keep competing and one day it will click and he'll clunk everything at AFL level and snag 7. I just wish he would start grabbing a few of these pack marks and he may be away, look at Oscar, clearly confidence is the trigger. I'm proud of Oscar this year and he's turned into an important cog in back 6. Only concern for me with Sam is his kicking for goal (like Hogan). Would be nice to see him start taking some marks. If Petrie can make it at AFL level then surely Sam will haha

Port are definitely beatable at Adelaide. Saint should have won and Collingwood put in a good effort yesterday. I'm still concerned that people are pencilling in the Pies in round 23, I think they've played much better than people give them credit for this year.

Well I didn't expect to see the quality of posts I do when I started this thread and definitely seems like many agree. To think there isn't corruption of some sort is naive IMO, it even happens in the police force. I've been saying all year, there's more at play here. How much is he record breaking channel 7 contract worth? It's blatant corruption and manipulation of games to make the game look good and competition even. Funny how this season is the closest all of a sudden, I can assure you it isn't equalisation working! For me the blatant cheating of MFC games by Nicholls really upsets me, to the point where I won't go to games he's umpiring anymore. Plucks imaginary frees against and soft frees for opposition. 50m penalties become 80m etc. wish there was an umpire by umpire breakdown of the season. I watch all footy, every weekend, they even up games deliberately but MFC cops it for a few years IMO. Even out MRP outcomes get the max amount of weeks for fickle incidents. As I said, I'm always fair and have always criticised my mates by blaming umpires but this year sticks out like dogs balls.

Against Pies. Simply Whoever isn't performing. Could be Hannan, ANB, Garlett, Vince or could be injuries. It'll work itself out.

Yep credit where it's due, I've given him a hard time with his slowness and fumbles but he was great today. And another I give a hard time to, Jones, was good late too when we needed him. Still think he got a lot of cheap handballs and turnovers early but happy to admit they did well.

Forgot about Bugg Wiseblood, I'd say he'll come back through Casey to get his feel and trust back. Pretty handy to have Bugg, Watts, Salem, Hogan all in twos at pointy end waiting to come back in!

It is Nicholls and Razor who I'm suspicious about mostly, it's just so blatantly obvious when they umpire our games. Agree re other 17 clubs but that's also my point of umps deliberately evening up the games rather than actually paying the right frees. The whole bloody league needs a clean up from umps to MRP.

No need to get personal, umpiring is deliberately evened up during games, makes you wonder why games have been so close all year..... oh yeah, that's equalisation.. give me a break. In QB game, Treloar wasn't pinged about 3 times in last few minutes from memory. WCE we got a very good run

Another team we get crucified against is WCE, some terrible umpiring in the last few years, especially last year. This year I think it was pretty even though. But Perth games especially are suspicious

The first quarter is the style that sucks me in to think the sky is the limit this year, not even Sydney or Adelaide would come close. So proudness of the boys today, hopefully we build that consistency over coming weeks. Great team effort
