  1. And they're in Russ Hinze's illegal casino upstairs in fortitude valley.
  2. Spot on. Let's face, this isn't sport anymore this is entertainment. Look after the big clubs. Look after the big stars. Create the blockbusters. Create the drama. Create an over the top ridiculous match day experience. Flexible rules at the tribunal so they can always get the result they want. Flexible rules and interpretations on the field. I truly believe umps are consciously or unconsciously evening games up to keep them close and viewers tuned in. It's not so much the free kick count but where they are paid. We saw it last week and we see it all the time where a big team that's behind gets a couple of softies in front of goal when it looks like they games slipping away from them. The AFL is corrupt. Nice legacy Gil. it's not about the fans or the welfare of the players. It's not about looking after the integrity of the most wonderful sport in the world in my opinion. It's about $ and TV. If it wasn't for my addiction to this club, I'd be just watching the occasional game of local footy. That's entertainment. Go Dees, deeestroy them.
  3. I didn't know Tommy Chong was a Blues supporter man.
  4. I would have thought a logical plan would be... A. Kick it to a team mate 15m clear directly in front forty metres out. If not, B. Kick to the same pocket. It seemed like option A was ignored multiple times on Friday night. There's playing the percentages and keeping it simple and then there's just plain dumb and predictable. We've been worked out.
  5. I wonder about the incompetence but probably more about the fear with a big crowd. I also can't help but wonder if there's some kind of bias to even games up as well. Try and make it a close contest adds to the theatre of it all. It's those ones that get paid directly in front of goal that just make me spew
  6. So true. It was deeply disturbing watching the cats cut us to bits. They do it even better than the pies. Not sure Goodwin is adapting "just got to play our brand"
  7. Watching Ben Brown, it was nice to reminisce and think of Iron Hands Dawes. We have so many problems going forward at the moment. We really should give JVR a go. We're not going to win a flag at the moment unless we change our forward structure and our crappy F50 kick into the pocket entries. It was the Dogs game all over again. I chucked money on the pies at half time at $5.40. it feels very ordinary collecting.
  8. Yes! Missing so many free players dead centre and straight in front and kicking to contests in a dead left hand pocket. Just weird
  9. Foot on throat now press hard!
  10. I hope I hear them boo all night. It means Ed is toweling them up
  11. I guess the Dees go through the "psycho babble" too. I reckon it's essential for a team at this level. Builds the right culture and mental resilience / positivity. You could hear Petracca talk about it late last year. Something like "I made a mistake, forget about it, clear the head, reset and go again." It's important to pick the right program. This one seemed to be about tearing people down. Our culture seems to be about building each other up. I loved Max's press conference after May got all lippy and punchy a while back. He talked about getting rid of that culture of putting each other down. How adopting a better attitude of stamping that habit out reflected positively back into his relationships with family and friends too. This boot camp stuff seems really whacky and toxic. I've trained with ex Special forces people when I walked Kokoda years ago. They were super impressive people and I learnt a lot from them about preparation, leadership following through on your word etc. However, tying to break someone down psychologically over a weekend and then having them dance nude in a drumming circle to build them back up sounds a bit Rugby League.
  12. Standing in a circle yelling obscenities at each other not having washed for days. I've sat in the Collingwood cheer squad before, they've been using this technique for decades.
  13. BT's gardening tips and turf analysis over the last couple of weeks have been nauseating too.
  14. Last Geelong goal was the result of a blatant push in the back. The cats forwards push their opponents in the back, head first into marking packs. It's a dangerous grubby practice and the never get penalised.
  15. This could be hilarious yet
  16. Port's kicking is just vomit
  17. That goal in the pocket by Bedford must have been about four or five defensive efforts in a row by him. Just pure guts and persistence when the game was already in the bag. Great goal
  18. Totally agree. Just watching JVR at 5.0 again today. I reckon we've got to give him a go for a week or two. Petracca needs to get his confidence back in front of goal too.
  19. Maybe the umps are coached the same way 😁
  20. Change the A to an O and the signs still useable
  21. Vineys spin out of a tackle at full pace on that far wing which led to a goal was just beautiful. God he's great to watch at the moment.
  22. I hate relying on other results lack days of old. Can't believe they've got out of jail again. Bloody great round of footy though
  23. Surely not again
  24. Chandler seems to be the form player at Casey at the moment. Really running and tackling hard. Who do you take out? Melksham? Not likely Harmes? Spargo? Not likely either. We really need two talls up forward. If we play with just BB or Weid by themselves, they just get smashed. If BB hasn't recovered, then maybe give JVR a run. JJ may need a rest. Hopefully Lever will be back in. I thought we played a pretty good first half. Our forward entries are generally still garbage though. I think we've got two major problems. 1. We're not as fit as last year AND 2. Teams have worked out how to spread use the corridor and switch play to beat us. We have the talent, not sure we have adjusted our strategy to counter the switching and centre corridor use by the oppo. If players are carrying injuries, they really shouldn't be getting selected. IN - fit players and a new strategy OUT - unfit players and the same down the line BS
