  1. It was for gawn holding his jumper at the front. At least thats what we deciphered from where we were sitting. I think he was just conserned it had been too long since he had blown his whistle
  2. haha yep I swear it translates directly to "Sufficient Popularity"
  3. Yeah that is a very fair point. I like the sound of Hunt's speed though. I expect N Jones to go back there a bit on the weekend. With tyson, oliver and most importantly Viney in the middle we have the in and under ball winners to let jones play back but not for the whole game i wouln't think.
  4. Yeah its all so diffucult because if he hit him harder in the chest it would have been let off. Its all very confusing. MRP discussions are hard because more often than not i dont even know what they should do. This instance i think is worth a week but lets face it if Hodge had done it there wouldnt even be an issue.
  5. I cant wait till the first time we see those 3 with Gawn in for a center bounce.
  6. I'm all for bernie getting off because im a Dees man but i think that intent should be the thing that weighs most at the MRP. I hate seeing people being outed for accidental high bumps yet players like sam mitchell giving little knees to players off the ball get nothing because it wasnt hard enough. What bernie did was stupid and deserves a week, deserves it more than big sandilands did for his bump.
  7. I dont know about everyone else but what i love about Max is has always shown the talent is there and now he is starting to fulfill what we thought he could be. I dont think he will be number one ruck this year but i hope he keeps rising because he deserves it.
  8. Yeah very much so. I would like to think they were both sat down and told that it isnt on. If there wasnt a lead there wouldnt have been a problem. if you have to kick over the man on the mark its always going to be a slow loopy kick so why bother. I mean surely if you can hit a kick that precise you can kick the goal.
  9. Shattered for the kid, thats 3 years in a row a first year player has been put out for the whole year. They tend to be all about education so hopefully he can spend some extra time watching Gawny ruck live. Could be good for his development further down the road.
  10. Yeah this is spot on.. I feel like it was just bad luck of Tom having a shocker and Cloke the best game of his life on the same day. Although i would think Dunn is the better matchup this week but wouldnt be to conserned if it was Tom. Have to admit im a little worried about Cloke though, i hope he doesnt find form this week. He was playing pretty bad before us last year as well.
  11. Anyone have thoughts on Hunt? im not sure he would get a game this week but i keep hearing good things but then he is never really considered. Plapp has said he played well in the player review. Do you think he will get a run in the AFL any time soon? link: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-04-12/vfl-player-review-round-1
  12. I think his athleticism suits Moore, he is quick enough to match him for mobility and would be too strong. Daniher in round 2 shows that Tom struggles against the high leaping tall forwards i think he would be better looseish as a sweeper taking intercept marks/3rd man up spoils with dunn on cloke and frost on Moore. However... it is very clear that the club has no interest in playing Frost in defence so for now we will have to wait and see.
  13. if it has " " then it is usually a joke, if it does not then usually I mean what i said. Besides although i said that in jest, you have to admit there are a few that seem to be a little too conserned by the umpires on the weekend, they didnt help but they didnt cost us i dont think.
  14. To be fair, from what I can tell 50% of the people here are blaming the umpires. So seems he was spot on.
  15. I dont like the idea of them being beaten up by the media... dont like playing sides coming hard on the rebound... and assuming richmond lose to WC they will cop it just as much the next week. Couple of very big tests coming up... should be able to win both but neither are going to be easy.
  16. calm down this rule was changed after the incident. which was luckily in the NAB but they came out and said it was right call at the time and also said it was a quirk in the rules that was a little stupid so they fixed it. Well adudicated on the day and well handled by the league IMO.
  17. I agree stretch gives us run but i also feel he is a step or 2 off AFL level maybe a couple of months at Casey and he can play some games later in the year. He will get there but im not sure he is quite ready. Bugg is on very thin ice but i think he did a little better this week. Was it enough to keep his spot? maybe, but with Brayshaw, ANB and Petracca all looking to get spots over the next month or so he might be in trouble.

  19. I think it was fine as is, Blood rule shouldnt be a rotation number thats just not fair on the club and if it happens like that then i guess it's just bad luck. If they wanted petrie back on then maybe they play a man down for however long and have it not be a rotation? but that might be a pain to aduticate
  20. haha yes this is true but we all do that. I think they make bad calls based on that but this one in particular? i dont think so. Personally i thought the bigger issue was that they let him get his hands on it to begin, with someone should have killed the ball as it came in.
  21. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-11/blood-rule-forces-afl-rethink-on-interchange-cap
  22. Haha no it wasnt he got enough of the ball and his eyes we for the ball it was just a good desperate spoil. Im just happy to be debating borderline free kicks rather than who should/shouldn't be dropped for showing no effort.
  23. ball has to be all the way across to me that is part way therefore play on... i didnt think that was really a bad call at all. a camera on the goal post would have been nice though...
  24. In. Garlett, ANB, Brayshaw Out: Bugg, Vanders, Vince (suspended) If Vince gets off then give Brayshaw 1 more week in the 2's no sense rushing the kid. Would also like to see Frost out for O Mac and have Dunn play forward. They clearly think Oscar is the future of the defence (and I agree) and we are struggling for a second tall forward so why not. but I also don't realy think it would happen
