  1. I would think we can play in an Elimination Final (win it a bonus). I really hope its in Melbourne but i suspect we will be 7th/8th so it will be hoping and praying that we end up against a fellow victorian team. Saints, Hawks or Cats might be the ones. Would love it to be the Hawks, Nice passing of the baton as one Era ends and another begins. Wins against the Pies, Saints, Carlton and the Roos are a must. Playing them twice we should really be able to chalk up 6 or 7 out 8. Doing that means we only need to find another 7 wins for the rest of the year and we're in. Easier said than done but our draw really means there's no more excuses. Id like to see us create a fortress at the MCG. I really want to begin hearing people say "We could beat the Dees but just not at the G" And a big interstate away win would be nice GWS, Adelaide or WC. 1/3 is good enough And finally the Friday night against the Swans. We need to perform, assuming they will be premiership contenders again, the win is not a requirement but we need to push them all the way.
  2. Not really the mindset I want the club to have
  3. Idk why so many here are so offended by the white. Its simple clean and makes telling each other appart so easy. Yeah I preffer the traditional jumpers but if a white jumper is done right then it can look ok. We always have to play the victim because a big club did this or a big club did that. It really makes no difference to us, we are going to have a clash strip every year that is white. A decision that likely comes from the club not from the AFL. So why cant we focus on trying to get a good white design (which is possible) rather than worrying about the colour.
  4. When it comes down to it... at least we dont have sleeves
  5. haha damn I was a fraction too slow
  6. If asked why he did it can he say he was following his footy role model Luke Hodge?
  7. So much better, Ik alot hate the white but at least this looks the person who made it should get paid. The other which it makes me sick that somebody got paid to put the logo on a white background!
  8. Agree. Havent been able to go through them all in super detail but I have us around about the top 5 with the likes of the Saints, Dogs, Swans and Giants. Compared to some we have nothing to complain about.
  9. How did the Saints end up with 4 friday nights and only 4 six day breaks. I feel like every step of improvement we make the Saints are half a step ahead.
  10. Im starting to think some here don't quite understand how far appart Alice and Darwin is.
  11. I noticed the Adelaide game in Darwin is one of the FTA games, as is the WC game in Perth. Fantastic for us our interstate games have never been FTA .
  12. I believe Geelong does not have access to Simmonds in the first 8 rounds due to the new stand
  13. Make the G our fortress and finish the season at 10 wins and 2 losses on the G (doable given our opponents) and then we only need to scrape together 3 wins and 7 losses everywhere else and we play finals.
  14. NO home game at Etihad!!!
  15. Ignoring our history of ordinary results there I actually quite like Kardinia Park its a nice little stadium. While I will not be happy at all to play a home game at Etihad. I suspect we will once again have to. I feel like I'd much rather it against a Geelong than a St Kilda. At least then we will still get the attendance of a VIc side and we arnt playing someone at their home ground.
  16. I would have thought "The Good Word"
  17. Until we play 22 games at the MCG we will always be unhappy with the fixture
  18. 1. GWS 2. Bulldogs 3. Sydney 4. Geelong 5. Adelaide 6. Hawthorn 7. Melbourne 8. St Kilda (W.C on equal wins, Saints percentage to get them over the line)
  19. I disagree. Currently we have 2 genuine small forwards who are AFL standard: Kent and Garlett. We have speculative options below that but nothing to get too excited about. BenKen is average at best and is quickly running our of time to be any more than a battler, JKH is injury prone and every other name that has come up is a midfielder who only plays forward because you cant fit them in the midfield. Green has played to AFL standard before and despite a poor year is young enough that the game has not passed him. He comes to the club on the cheap and while is no guarantee to become a regular, he is far from the worst option going around.
  20. Thank God you're not involved in list management because that is just madness
  21. He kicked 33 in a [censored] team in 2014.. that was just his 4th season. Jeffy has been around alot longer, and has had big years but last year was his only big year in an average side the others have all been in much better sides than Greens was in. Green is no superman and i understand your consern but he isnt the spud you seem to be making him out to be. He had a shocking year as did the rest of his side. A fresh start might do him the world of good
  22. First line I agree to a point Hibbard, Hunt, Kent all will be playing primarily in roles other than an outside mid you labeled them as, but yes he would be behind them. The second line yes he would behind the first 3 but after that I would have him easily ahead of the others. Vanders would play a 4th tall kind of role anyway so not in competition but unless his form spikes he wont be in the 22 because he isnt vital enough, Lewis just took his spot. Trenners may very well never play again (a reality that too many here are too scared or too sentimental to face) and there is no way in hell they would play him as a small forward he is an inside mid or a VFL player. ANB is on thin ice and while is young and has another year of development to go before a proper judgement is made he is a long way off it. Green is at an age where 1 proper preseason can set him up to break into the side by maybe round 6/7. He is only 23 so he has plenty of time not like he is a 28yo we need to be have an instant impact.. Bring him in see what we can get, might be something, might be nothing but has more to offer than Michie ever did.
  23. So you would delist depth and then not replace it with some other form of depth? the best kind of depth is the one with even the slimist chance of becoming a regular player. Green has (admitedly a couple of years in the past) proven himself more than capable at AFL level and at his best would easily push for a spot. I think he could provide depth as well as Michie ever did. He can play through the midfield has speed which we lack desperatly and he can be a creative forward when he needs to be. He would play at Casey more than not, at least to start. But if Garlett or Kent go down with injuries/form slumps theres no reason why he couldnt be right up there to take their spots in the 22.
  24. I didnt really want to get involved in the argument but what need did Michie fill?
  25. Anyone who thinks Green has no tallent is mad. He has obvious work ethic issues and didnt fit into the Lions side this year. However as most would know when they team is poor the first players to go out are the small forwards. I sit on the fence a little because if we passed on him the reasons are obvious but given what he may be capable of, signing him on would not be the worst idea. Back the club to at least try and make something of him as a DFA he is a free Hit. He might be the average player who is crap in a bad team and brilliant in a good team which next year we should be. Really hard to be a small forward in a side that doesnt get the ball forward. We put him in our side with our high i50 style of play I think he could kick a couple of goals a game for us. That would make him plenty valuable.
