Yes, it was each of those things.
But for Port Adelaide, a proud club who a fortnight ago beat Adelaide in the local Showdown, to lose to Gold Coast after being 40 points up at 3/4 time - a loss that would have torn at the very fabric of the club and forced everyone at the club to expect so much more the next week and to make amends for what was one of the worst losses of any team in the last few years (if not the worst) and arguably worse than their 2007 GF display - to come out the next week and play against a team without a win who is certainly not better than them and to lose by 10 goals is an absolute disgrace.
I bet my life that if we had have lost to GC, the next week we'd put in a red hot performance (at least in terms of effort). I'm quite confident we will do that on Sunday, which annoys me as well as it's something that any player of any experience can do regularly. You shouldn't need a bake or a poor effort to play hard the next week.
And if someone says that our performance was worse than Gold Coast's today, well that is just self loathing at its highest.
