Collingwood 4th quarter percentage this year is 257. Footscray's is 80. It's fair to assume Collingwood are a fitter, better team than the dogs. The dogs were also coming back from a night game in Perth. Obviously Mick would've given them a spray and that may've had some impact, but to imply that only he could have given that spray to inspire that performance I don't buy. If it worked - why then did the Dogs have 4 of the first 5 scoring shots in a close last quarter?

The Dogs kicked 1.3 to a point in the first 5 minutes of the last. More accurate kicking could've seen them hit the front. The reality is that they're a better team and should have won. The Dogs got some nice momentum, but I wouldn't really put the last term pull-away to Malthouse giving them the "evil eye."

It's getting ridiculous. Now you're saying that "at present" Jack Watts isn't being backed up by his senior teamates. "At present" of course implies that this has been happening for some time. This is the same Jack Watts who was nearly dropped two weeks ago, but instead was made the sub. He's now put one good game together in a row.

Yes, it was each of those things. But for Port Adelaide, a proud club who a fortnight ago beat Adelaide in the local Showdown, to lose to Gold Coast after being 40 points up at 3/4 time - a loss that would have torn at the very fabric of the club and forced everyone at the club to expect so much more the next week and to make amends for what was one of the worst losses of any team in the last few years (if not the worst) and arguably worse than their 2007 GF display - to come out the next week and play against a team without a win who is certainly not better than them and to lose by 10 goals is an absolute disgrace. I bet my life that if we had have lost to GC, the next week we'd put in a red hot performance (at least in terms of effort). I'm quite confident we will do that on Sunday, which annoys me as well as it's something that any player of any experience can do regularly. You shouldn't need a bake or a poor effort to play hard the next week. And if someone says that our performance was worse than Gold Coast's today, well that is just self loathing at its highest.

Ours was the 3rd worst performance from the 7 matches this week IMO.

This is what confuses me about the whole "game play" debate. Did Geelong change it mid-game, or did they just start playing better? Did we change ours against the Pies - or did we just play better? If we changed it, if even a tweak, why would we change it back afterwards? Not arguing with you - just saying what often ponders me.

I'm just wary of the posters who will probably not watch the game but will come on later to say "oh man (insert player's name here) shud totes com in 'cos he got 30 tuchez n wud b so beta dan da deez playaz." Obviously I'm not saying that players can't play well in a big win (if indeed that's how this turns out - which it very well may not) but I just think people should be tempered in their measure and understand that it's a better team with AFL listed players at home against a stand alone club.

Petterd has come off with what looks like a knee injury. Has gone up the race - commentators said it looked like a dislocated kneecap (I think just because he was knocking at his knee). I don't really agree with them but didn't look fantastic. A minute later Blease backed into a pack and got crunched. Has come off but should be fine. Nicholson and Bate have goals. 2.1 13 - 2.0
