  1. Two things come to mind. Move him to the forwardline if he's beig tagged. Get him to tag a damaging opposition player to make a 2 on 1 our way.
  2. You can just give me your five if you like.
  3. Last year's was amazing, we'll have fun this year regardless.
  4. Pineapple post-match foreshore.
  5. Gold Coast's average games per player was 44.5 on the weekend. Ours was 62.2. It's not the be-all and end-all, but a team with a majority of players in a 3rd game is very different to one of our players being in his 5th. They'll also lose Campbell Brown from that. They had 15 games with less than 50 games experience, we had 11. You're right, the gaps not as large as it would seem, but it's certainly large enough to expect a win even without Moloney (though I hope that's not the players' attitude).
  6. If we can't beat a team of mostly teenagers in their 3rd game without Brent Moloney, we're in a much, much worse position than I'd have thought.
  7. If we lose to GC17 with or without Brent Moloney, we'll have much bigger issues.
  8. Not sure where the "insert player's name-hater" comes from on this site for people who have question marks over a certain players game, but that isn't really the case here anyway. I think you're reading between the lines too much, I didn't mean anything by bringing up Roos' underrated list, just thought it was relevant. The nature of an "underrated" list is interesting as well. You're right, that it's a pretty big thing to be pulled out of over 600 players, but it also means the person doing it recognises that the player isn't very widely rated. I'd say at least 100 players in the AFL are pretty well rated. In terms of Jones, I'm certainly not a "hater." Having played a tiny bit of junior footy with him, I have a soft spot for him. However I just don't think he's damaging enough/clean enough with his disposal. He certainly gives his all and with many players, that's all you can ask for. For those that say he can't be a part of a top 4 team, I think you're forgetting that in his first season he entered late and played a big role in our push for top 4. The fact we couldn't roll Adelaide in Round 22 hurts the cause, but I think he showed then that he could be a cog in a top side. I don't think his game has necessarily gone backwards since then so I think he could find a role. Being a very similar player to Moloney, but not as good, hurts his cause IMO.
  9. They do it right in front of where we sit. I was looking forward to it for Round 1 - but not anymore. Cringeworthy is the word.
  10. He said he's maybe a bit underrated at Melbourne - but I think it was more of a "Nathan Jones is underrated, and he plays at Melbourne." I didn't sense that he was saying the Dees underrated him. He also said that he wrote a few for a newspaper on the weekend - so Jones isn't the most underrated going around according to Roosy.
  11. There was also the game last year in Adelaide featuring the Blues that was a pretty long one (I think there was a stretcher). 7, for some reason, had the game on delay but ended up running about 2 minutes behind live because of how long the game went.
  12. Salute to Jason Day, Adam Scott and Geoff Ogilvy who gave it their best shot at the Masters.
  13. There will be a post-match function whether the club organises one or not.
  14. Leading into Sunday's game I've noticed that neither team have won a first quarter this season. Our poor 1st quarter percentage of 54 looks pretty strong compared to their 15.96%.
  15. Upset of the SEASON. I'll wait for the excuses Dappa.
  16. Rubbish. Would you equate a win over the Gold Coast with a win over the Pies?
  17. Snap. I do agree in the most, that last week's performance was not acceptable. But at the same time, that is to be expected on occasion from young teams. It's a dangerous thing to compare performances across years against the same team and draw too many conclusions. Comparing last week's performance, in isolation, to Round 1 2008 teaches us nothing. 8 weeks later against that same team who smashed us by over 100, we headed them in the last quarter and (if not for a rubbish umpiring decision against Davey) may have rolled them - eventually falling by 19 points. It can't be claimed we improved that much in '08 and you would absolutely not claim that we've gone backwards from that day. Last week's performance wasn't up to scratch, but it has to do with many more factors other than Bailey alone. As has been said before, it's lucky that the club look ahead more than some supporters.
  18. And yet you're happy to pretty much call for his head April.
