  1. Wasn't he injured that day, and that's why he was playing forward?
  2. Nugget, how many of the 26/27 of your friends played on any of these players you mentioned and how many of them? "they don't think (going by the couple of games they have played with/against him) that he compares with chriss judd/tom hawkins/xavier ellis/cyril rioli/luke ball/cambell brown etc at the same level at this stage which i still think is true" By my reckoning, only Cyril Rioli and possibly Hawkins/Ellis (and most likely as naive year 10s anyway). I can't see how they can say how Watts is in relation to Judd Ball etc.
  3. Freo fans must be salivating for the arrival of West Sydney
  4. Sorry Chook, but you can't be serious here. The thread was designed entirely to pose ludicrous jokes. Of course the intention of the thread is not to "educate a non-football follower about the Collingwood Football club," this is emphasized by the thread originator using a "bad, insulting joke" to illustrate how he eventually got his point across. Perhaps I.A.N. can tell us of his purpose, but I don't really think he needs to. If his purpose is to share jokes about he Collingwood footy club, which most of us here believe, then the thread is only being "retarded" (impeded) by your good self
  5. "The Amount Will be Included in the Club's 2008 TPP" But yes, the other article states something different... Perhaps journalists trying to fill gaps?
  6. Hopefully we saved enough to pay a rookie for his first year, that would be awesome
  7. We mustn't have had to pay him that much if it was included in our 2008 TPP?
  8. Ain't no "winning culture" like a "premiership winning culture." How financially viable was floundering around the top 8 between 2004-2006? Are you seriously suggesting we put forward a half arsed approach in contrast to trying to win a Premiership? Do you believe that any club in the competition is capable of winning the 2009 Grand Final?
  9. So if the club came out and said "We're aiming to win the 2009 Premiership," the floggings we will probably receive next season will be easier to take? And more people will attend our games? Sorry but I don't see the connection. If the club starts winning and playing well, people will come, if we say we want to win and then get smashed anyway will not get anymore people in the gate than saying we're probably going to have a lean year. I'd say aiming at a Premiership through a direct course of action, playing young players with a gameplan the coach deems as Premiership-winning, is not accepting mediocrity. Selling out on a long term vision to play cheap thrills footy and play over-the-hill players for the sake of more immediate results is accepting mediocrity. I want our club to make a plan to win a Premiership and stick to it, that will be enough for me to attend the footy week in week out. The culture of the club will change and I believe it is changing as we speak, but it will take time.
  10. using the term retarded in a derogatory sense whilst preaching about prejudice... Ironic
  11. hundy should cover it!
  12. Aren't the meanings for "tautology" and "oxymoron" pretty much opposite? Tautology combines two words that effectively mean the same things, whereas oxymoron contains two words complimenting each other that essentially mean the inverse to each other. It's more of an Oxymoron IMO
  13. Or the old classic, pretty sure I read it on these boards a few months ago. You're locked into a room with a Tiger, a Lyon, a Snake and a Collingood supporter. You have a gun with only two bullets, what do you do? Shoot the Collingwood supporter...Twice!
  14. Thanks Alph As always, love your work Caro
  15. We should send some flowers to her care of Demonland. I'd chip in for sure
  16. TS, I know what you're saying and largely agree, but on the flip side, it's these little things that the big clubs do so well and its what helps them get bigger and better. We need to do the basics well, very well, if we are to build our base. Especially into a new market. I'm free most nights, I'd happily volunteer at the club to answer emails.
  17. B: Whelan Garland Warnock HB: Petterd Rivers Bruce C: Buckley Jones Morton HF: Bate Miller (for now) Green F: Davey Robertson Johnson Foll: Jamar Mclean Moloney Int: Wheatley Maric Grimes Aussie Sylvia Bell Bartram Bell, Bartram, Dunn all struggling to find a place IMO. I think Bell can get back into it though. Still just can't see where Sylvia fits. Without Robertson I'd play him out of FF/CHF, telling him to motor through half forward and into the packs. But just still struggle to find a spot. Aussie provides a spark, but I don't see him as best 22 going forward, yet anyway. Maric I think will step up, and I can't wait to see more of Grimes
  18. Why can't our fans have only come when Jim Stynes was playing, or Adem Yze, or now Brad Green
  19. Come on you Spurs! It would seem you're our bunnies Diablo. What a weird thing sport is, and how much does it go to show that all a team needs is a little bit of confidence. And in other news, Chelsea are 3-2 down in a penalty shoot out against Burnley. 4-2, 4-3. This for the Burnley win.... over the crossbar!! And Chelsea score their's. Back level. Heartbreak for Burnley? 5-4, tension! This for Chelsea to stay in. And yes, this just in. Chelsea have lost to Burnley
  20. She was great help in setting up the Melbourne Birthday Party. Hopefully we can build that again next year
  21. Can't believe I didn't notice this earlier, but it's the logo used on the playing cards sold at the shop! I've seen it many times, and often remark how attractive it looks on my cards! Though it's all gold on the cards. How silly of me
  22. Getting my wisdoms out Friday, so I could be pretty useless on Sunday. I'll just bring lots of notes
  23. If we had a permanent changing room in the Southern stand with our own race, that would be awesome if we could paint the seats in the bays around it Red and Blue
  24. Not to mention we currently sell a home game to Canberra, after years of selling it to Brisbane. Clearly Casey is a better option that either of these two
