  1. Good bump, play on! Still, though you never revealed what you would do. Obviously the most pressing issue from here is obtaining the next major sponsor (well, get another sponsor so we have a major sponsor essentially) and ensure that our shocking record of staff turnover does not continue. From there, I'm pretty confident with much of what has happened so far. Though next time we're up for sponsorship renewal, I hope it doesn't take over 4 months!
  2. Fair enough. I must say, I personally don't agree with what you're arguing, but the way you carry it is very respectable. Hopefully the club can always learn to grow into a bigger and better entity, one that is accountable both in terms of performance and finances
  3. Why would it need a separate thread? I've asked you directly
  4. I have found this discussion fascinating, but I have not found it to be constructive. What are we learning from this, how can our club improve? Hazy, you clearly have an understanding of the issues, how can you best put that knowledge to use?
  5. Tony Hawk Joins the Dees Good to see the club using their sponsors well (unless I'm on something and made up that we're connected with Globe). Also good to see another celebrity in Red and Blue. Quite the list we've got going
  6. Don't play Rivers, don't play! Oh God!
  7. Clint, you've clearly doctored this photo. Brent Harvey isn't lying on the ground wailing for a free kick
  8. Could be worse...you could choose Sylvia
  9. One large reason Miller is still around also IMO is that he works incredibly hard on the track and he carries with him a lot of respect from the playing group for it. He shits on Newton and there is no one who can take the position of CHF from him at the moment. He dobbed two from outside 50 against the Tigers, then the next week shirked at kicking at goal from 40 out. Perhaps he's confused between doing the team thing and doing what the team needs of him. I don't see much of a future for him once Watts/Jurrah start to play if they're half as good as they appear to be.
  10. Grimes easily. You've gotta go a possession winner over a tall defender. Warnock might be an OK player, but he's certainly not going to be great for Supercoach. Grimes is silky and gets the footy, meaning high efficency which equals good point scoring
  11. Enforcerman, i think he may have been trying to refer to Stevie Johnson...HA
  12. On what basis can you possibly claim that his "season is in jeopardy"? To claim this as overly dramatic would be an understatement (though a history of foot injuries could explain the kicking). Do you honestly believe we should have recruited more Ruckmen recently? Martin, as you say, is a possible ruck prospect, and Spencer has also been drafted. Above all, the role and impotance of the Ruckman is one under a considerable cloud at the moment. It would be naive to claim that it is poor list management to not recruit another ruckmen (of which, how many did we miss anyway) in favour of silky, skilled, pacy midfielders and a tall forward.
  13. 649321 A league where no player over 300,000 can be bought. Take a "print screen" of your team when chosen in case you get chased up to provide proof.
  14. HT, in a recent post didn't you just, correctly, lament the fickelness of Melbourne supporters? I hardly say we can be typecast as more loyal than Richmond fans, after the rubbish they've had to put up with
  15. At least it wasn't C@#$#@%d material
  16. You should've seen him at our 150 Heroes Dinner. We, of course, were all scampering around trying to get as many autographs as possible, but none of us could scamper as quickly as Beamer. He was absolutely loving it, no wonder he had a fair crack on QB
  17. did a search on them in google images, some interesting ones there!
  18. With the list we have, if we focused solely on "winning," we would end up in the same position as Sheedy's Bombers a couple of years ago. Competitive in a couple of matches, by largely smashed. Sheedy wanted them playing free flowing, attacking footy. For Melbourne, another season of poor, uncompetitive losses containing a handful of devastating losses would not sell memberships either, and would certainly not help us to "kick goals financially." Our entire club needs to learn how to stay commited to the task, at all times. This will help our young players mature as a group, and help our team match it with other teams who might be better skilled/manned than ours.
  19. Why does Spencer have to play the first half of the season? No harm in finding out if Meesen has anything, and will be good when Jamar comes back. Spencer can be added to the list after Round 11 and start his long career in the Red and Blue, he's not going anywhere
  20. I still haven't gotten over them mate, and they've pretty much come to symbolize for me a lot of what has been wrong with the club since I've been supporting them. I feel an attitude that one must be forever "competitive" or hard at it no matter who is in the side or who you are playing, will go a long way to fixing these problems.
