  1. Now, please, for the love of all that is Holy, no body else bid for the Matthew Whelan Jumper!
  2. A tackle is different to a shepherd, it is hardly a moot point
  3. If you're arguing against me mate, I get all the more confident that I'm right
  4. I have to laugh when I head people whinging about not hearing enough from the club, compare what we get now to what we got a few years ago. Yet another email today, the club is constantly in touch at the moment
  5. I can't see any simliarities between Collingwood's and North Melbourne's Jumpers, or Richmond's and Essendon's
  6. Mate, it was on Saturday night (yes, Valentine's day ) It was quite easily one of the best nights of my life, possibly the best, and felt like it went in about 12 minutes. If I get disgustingly happy enough I might even post a photo of the night!
  7. I believe you mean that the head is sacrosanct, not contact to it
  8. Certainly better than nothing given our current situation IMO
  9. Why the hell are we reading about Saul Eslake's views on football?
  10. The other thing is, we've already had a red and blue clash strip with a demon in the middle, perhaps we should look to a new jumper (or use both, i see no problem using three)
  11. I don't like to, but I prefer the White also. Also, why was there an article saying we'd revealed our clash jumper when the club is not conducting a poll seeing which one to use? I think the White is a classier jumper (if you can call it that) and hopefully would sell more. The return of the invincible whites, only this time it would be the "Invincible Demons"
  12. It's not a fact, that's your opinion. I'm not looking at potential at all, I'm looking at where he fits in. This year, I would say he's just in the top 22 because we are at a bare bones level (and even then I struggle to put him in there), that's not saying much. He drifts in and out of games, never able to turn them, is often thoughtless when he doesn't have the footy and I can't think of a position which suits him. I don't see him down back (beyond teaching him to switch on), he's not really a midfielder in my eyes (though he should be able to play there this year) and up forward he has been good only in patches. In the "Very Best 22" thread, I had Sylvia on an extended bench. Not because I'm mocking his "potential," but just that I don't see him clearly in our best 22, that is not to say I don't think he can get there. An inconsistent, injury riddled, often lazy footballer who I have never seen play well enough in any position to say he should be picked there week in week out. Just because you say it's a "fact" he's best 22 does not make it so. Indeed, I don't know why you state his "draft position, attitude and potential" as I have never mentioned these things, I've even gone so far as to say that to "measure potential" is ridiculous as it cannot be measured
  13. It's certainly not a part of the Old Admin, as I remember Stynes being involved (in every photo) right in a period we were signing a few "big name" peoples, the dude from the Basketball team, the Irish Rugby Captain
  14. The short kick to the pocket is often a last resort/used as a way of kicking over the zone
  15. Demons 32, if you think 90% of our list is boarderline best 22 but Sylvia is not boarderline, you must think him to be in the top 4-5 players at the club, is this true?
  16. That'd be around 10-20% of a total sponsorship (for a whole year) for just one game, with minimal exposure (5% of the season in terms of matches). But also you can't forget that matchday is only a small part of sponsorship. A sponsor goes on all apparel bought by supporters, all team gear worn by players, coaches, support staff etc., they are entitled to corporate functions, appearances by players etc. A very small percentage of these duties could be performed in a one week span, certainly not for 10% of a total sponsorship deal and any money gained by doing so (which I couldn't see as raising more than $20g or so) would be lost by our main sponsor spending less money on the deal. This is all just my opinion of course
  17. Whelan put a smother on Brown, not a tackle. But yes i do agree, if it's an accidental clash of heads, i can't really imagine there being another type aside from headbutting, then he should in no way receive such a harsh penalty. Mo, it is an interesting point you raise and i'm sure that's how the AFL justify it also
  18. AFL rules? Not sure man, I wasn't there but I'd hope there was a sausage sizzle etc...
  19. R_K, we were asking for a gold coin donation (at minimum) for the bushfire appeal, wouldn't have looked great to add an entry fee on top of it.
  20. $150-$300 per game? I assume you mean thousands, but I'm also not so sure you should've
  21. Absolutely Rogue, I think people aren't disappointed because he's not a superstar, people are disappointed because he's boarderline 22.
  22. Sprung! Barefoot would definitely go best with the beige option richie! But on topic i think i can get to like this clash jumper, good to see the red and blue back!
  23. Haha I think you've actually thought ideas through, and were just looking for a medium to let them out
