  1. I have often wondered about that in the past, cheers. Out of interest, anyone know if this is the same for AFL memberships? Or an MFC membership for that matter? Glad to know I wasn't the only one

  3. Hence Greg March's opposition to it back in March 2010: Tiger fury at lack of protection Interestingly enough, Cam Schwab wasn't so happy about the Dees being drawn into the argument: March backed on young talent
  4. The Superfooty site also has a video of Mark Stevens talking about the new facilities: Demons' new digs
  5. From Adelaide's website... Viney moves to Melbourne
  6. I think they may forget this because its not true B)
  7. Brilliant. Here's hoping your 2011 prediction is for a Demons flag...
  8. Setback in Adelaide bid to secure Jack Viney
  9. Without wanting to alarm the panic-merchants, Mark Stevens claimed on Triple M prior to the weekend's game that securing Viney as a F/S was far from a done deal, and that there was talk that Jack was not really keen to move back to Victoria to play his football. Not sure where Stevens got his information from but he intimated that the Dees would be doing a lot of work behind the scenes between now and then to try and make it happen (which included jokes of Schwabby arranging gift packages to be sent across to SA, etc). The crew then briefly discussed his alternative which would most likely be playing for Western Sydney and being based in Rooty Hill (where Blacktown Olympic Park is situated). As you can imagine with the Triple M crew the discussion quickly disintegrated upon mention of Rooty Hill, but it was interesting that Stevens felt the need to bring it up for discussion and you would have to wonder if it is a serious possibility that he would choose not to come to the Dees. You can't shed any more light on where you got your information from can you, JJJ?
  10. Watts' contract status was mentioned on Footy Classified last week; Hutchy claimed that there was nothing sinister in the fact that he was yet to re-sign, but rather Jack and his manager had decided to back himself in to have a good finish to the year in order to bump up any contract offer that may come from the club... Good on the kid, I say.
  11. Keep pushing that agenda of yours... Pretty good summary. Goodes was too explosive for Morton and clearly out-muscled him on occasion, but name me a player in the entire league who could have contained Goodes in the kind of form he was in... Cale certainly wasn't helped by a couple of his teammate's turnovers either (a couple of which led directly to goals by Goodes), yet he stuck at his task and managed to have an impact for us going forward. No doubt Goodes got the points on the day, but Cale acquitted himself well and will be better for the experience of playing head-to-head on one of the competition's best. Laughable to suggest he is not in the best 22.
  12. Despite his late turnover, Maric's game was pleasing today. Just watched the replay and his harassment and second-efforts certainly stood out on the second viewing. Would have been nice if he finished off his shot on goal in the second term, but definitely a game to build upon. Personally hope he holds his spot for next week as I still believe he has a lot to offer the team long-term.
  13. Riewoldt said in a press conference on Tuesday that he is contracted until the end of 2011, and wanted to remain a Tiger for life.
  14. You're getting your drafts mixed up there - Maric was taken at 21 in the 2007 draft; Roughead went at 31 to the Dogs in the 2008 draft.
  15. Matt Burgan had him going to Essendon at 24. Emma Quayle had him ranked at 20. I believe the general consensus was that he would be an early-to-mid second round pick, so it was a bit of a surprise when the Dees took him at 11. Having said that he was among Shifter Sheehan's top 5 prospects to look out for in the TAC Cup Future Stars show early in 2009, and was apparently on the radar of Sydney at 14 and Geelong at 17. Definitely happy with him so far.
  16. Is this right? I was under the impression they were really good mates.
  17. Ricky Petterd's debut in 2007 was the most impressive I'd seen by a Demon until yesterday... And to think it was against the reigning premiers in a game we lost by 9 goals. Kid looks a gem.
  18. On The Couch came out with an interesting statistic tonight- apparently we have won every game when Jamar has been the lone ruckman, and lost every game when we have had a back-up in the side... Not sure of the exact validity of this stat (Martin played predominantly as a back-up in the win against the Lions and the loss against Norf) but their point was that we lost too much run from the side when we play a second tall off the bench. After seeing Nev Jetta's impact coming in as a late replacement for Spencer, it's pretty hard to argue with them.

  21. Now that you mention it I do recall hearing something about that. Might be worth a look next time we are forced to play at that hell of a stadium, here's hoping the roof is shut
