  1. More than welcome to join, open to anyone who visits demonland, or is a friend. Good luck!!
  2. Zomer included? Looks like I might owe an apology to timd
  3. I understand what you're saying and you're probably correct however....there would never be a good time for what we've just experienced. Stating that it's bad timing because of a sporting club's sponsorship could be considered a little insensitive, especially if people reading your posts have been affected. I know you didn't mean it in that way though, it's just a really sensitive issue.
  4. Thanks for the report youami. Can you please tell me more a bit more about Jetta, I know he's good overhead and likes the physical stuff but how was his speed and skills today? Cheers
  5. Anyoen who missed out on the first 2 leagues join 755888, I've just created another one.
  6. Thanks for the udates WJ
  7. We finished last in 2008 because of poor leadership, lack of quality talls and no depth. Lack of genuine classy players doesn't help either. Edit: As an afterthought I think the biggest thing that's hurt us over the last half dozen years has been poor player development
  8. I desperately wanted Swift and as Pender was just about to announce our 3rd pick I thought he was ours. The kid is going to be a gun, provided his knees last but who knows the answer to that question? In the end I understand that Strauss is a 'safer' option. There were comments made just after the draft that suggested that we were never interested in him, something about not wanting the talented kids who had question marks over their injury histories.
  9. At least we'll get our cups back
  10. This comment has been the highlight of the thread so far
  11. I don't even know what station he's on, what did he say?
  12. This thread is about 'best to worst' not who is most important to the team. I don't think PJ is in the top 10 best players at the club, I have him behind McLean, Bruce, Green, Morton, Rivers, Robertson, Davey, Miller, Jones, Bate and a couple of others. Who at of that list above do you think PJ is better than?
  13. This is nothing but positive news imo, hopefully we can play the odd pre-season game there as well
  14. Grats on the attempt at one of these, difficult to do and you're bound to upset people, which is what internet forums are all about I guess...Nice attempt though. I'll get the ball rolling I think you have both PJ and Dunn too high, specifically Dunn. I just can't see him being number 14, in fact I think he'll struggle to break into the team going forward once guys like Blease, Strauss and co mature
  15. Or both. Witnessing the slug fest going on in this thread about Schools is akin to a bunch of kids with down syndrome arguing who has the biggest penis.
  16. Yeah, I like the idea of Morton on a wing, running all day. Throw Bate or Buckley on the opposite side fwiw
  17. I agree, storm in a tea cup
  18. I'd be more than happy to have a flawed champion like him on our list if he helped deliver us a premiership
  19. Potential sponsors are interested in exposure for their brand, that means fta viewing and blockbuster games. I just don't think a one page advert in a newspaper will do it. The message we need to sell is a future success.
  20. The opposition paying more attaention to Wona could be considered a positive for us. It basically means less pressure on the other forwards like Davey, Maric & co.
  21. The Febey's were notorious for this... I remember this quote from an apparently famous american NFL coach, I can't remember his name but it went something like this... "Give me a team full of guys in their last year of their contracts and I'll give you a champion team"
  22. I was there, I only got in because I was early. The only reason why people didn't get in was because there were simply too many people. It's hilarous (not saying you are btw) hearing people suggest that there was a conspiracy that night, what they're basically accusing the club of doing was walking up and down the line and asking people who they were going to vote for and only letting the pro mergers in. I remember discussing it with the people I was sitting around with (whom I had never met before), almost all of us made our decisions are hearing both sides present their view. Interestingly everything that tiger Ridley predicted that night has come true, the only thing he got wrong was the CBF from the AFL.
  23. What a complete load of tripe. Just one example...at one stage the pies had three different cheers squads because of their infighting, bickering and politics.
  24. the biggest difference with this situation is that alot of people who are happy about appointment have pencilled in jnr to retire (or delisted) at the end of 09. A two year appointment I can appreciate however
  25. The first step in fixing the problem is understanding what's wrong in the first place. How can you possibly achieve anything if you bury your head in the sand and deny everything? This talk of 'natural list build' is just a weak excuse, our list was screwed because of poor recruiting, list management and development. We have to strive to fix everything or we won't exist in 5 years time. We racked up our debt while having a major sponsor, we don't have many Friday night games and FTA exposure because the network stations don't want us. Why don't they want us? Because we don't pull ratings and haven't for a long time. Now, the correct question to ask is why don't we pull ratings? Don't say it's because of our ladder position because that's incorrect, we haven't rated well for about a decade...
