  1. Agreed. Said that toa mate today, no matter how we play we must wear this jumper.
  2. I think we can all agree that we could all be louder.
  3. It's not a crack at the club it's at the supporters... If you are there, why not get loud? In fairness prior to these times, our crowds have always been quiet.
  4. I went last night with my son and granted we have been beyond poor however, my little fella is 4 and I am just making sure he has some fun at the game no matter what the score. I was astounded after the saints had kicked the first three goals then Kent produced a great smother and snap for the first goal ... The silence was deafening. At that point we were only 2 goals down 20 minutes into a game. No matter what you think of a player, coach whatever..... Make some noise. Plenty of times we had good patches of pressure and I thought I was in a library. Give them the support you all say you have and give them a cheer. Everyone talks how being competitive is a given for a player, well to be a fan and a supporter it is a given that you will cheer and support. These are the things we can control.
  5. So bugger off then. You complain about the players, have a look in the mirror.
  6. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/hawks-comeback-tale-might-inspire-demons-20130410-2hltp.html This is a good article about the step we can take this week. We cannot undo what has been done. We cannot win a flag this week. We can take the smallest step towards respect.
  7. Put a huge bucket of beers in the room and get some camaraderie. Surely it can't hurt.?
  8. Wasn't there a story a few years back when the cats were on the verge of wasting their talent and they had just lost to North at hom and Bomber was under fire and Joel Selwood in his first year called out a few senior players and suggested they were not going hard enoug? After watching Selwood yesterday, lets hope there is half as much in young Jack. Congratulations on the debut. Lets turn it around and win this week!!
  9. Apologies for my ignorance, I tend to avoid footy until the real stuff starts but is there a reason why Tom McDonald isn't in the firsts? I thought he was great last year and was looking for him to cement a spot down back. Feel free to enlighten me. Go Dees!!!!
  10. Crows also lost Gunston. Add that to Bock, Davis, Tippett. They have been ripped.
  11. I have spent a lot if time in Canada, they sing their anthem before every home game in Vancouver (41 games) and it sounds great with 15k peopld singing it. I just wish we would be a little louder and not mumble through it. We love this country be proud!
  12. Jack darling had issues too. Maybe we need some wild cards and cowboys.
  13. Might shoot the email through to the club tomorrow.
  14. Like the Roos did from their success in the 90s??? We can't win games in the preseason but we can win the hearts and minds of the kids.
  15. I was only meaning a select few. Maybe 100 all up. Roughly 2 per player. The impact on a kid would be worth it's weight in gold.
  16. I read with interest a few years ago NHL hockey teams having their players hand deliver season tickets. I thought this would be a great idea to incorporate with us. Perhaps the longest continual member or newest would have a player drop off the passes. I would suggest after one visit they would be Dees for life. This would secure our next generation of supporters and provide us with some good news stories. Thoughts?
  17. Right now I am wondering if I will see a flag. It starts with purely competing for every ball, sponsorship dollar, extra fan, the list goes on. I want other teams to know that when they play us it will be torrid. The hawks, cats and swans have a lot of sides beaten as they run out the race. C'mon Dees
  18. None taken. I don't often post, I was simply surprised that someone in any occupation would leave a job without one ready to go. Things change quickly in footy. If we offered a one year deal, maybe that is better than drifting further into oblivion and not on an afl list.
  19. Blindsided as in Neeld was not prepared for Rick to be so ready to move and confident of interest. Geelong, Collingwood, Brisbane.
  20. While I am sure I am to be howled done as a rumor monger, from a good source who is mates with a recent player, he suggested at the exit interview Ricky and MN did not see eye to eye and Ricky was keen to leave with several clubs interested. This totally blindsided MN. Does he have a contract or can he walk? I guess it will play out in the coming weeks.
  21. Maybe I should gave rephrased it.... Why hawthorn and not collingwood , Carlton, essendon and Geelong , all are big clubs with a premiership culture, the preferred destination is always hawthorn . I was not wondering why them and not us.
