What has happened to Clayton Oliver?
Fantastic game! the calls on here to trade him were ludicrous. This is the Oliver that is so good. His willingness to break from the contest was the best thing to change this year.

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
Yes, I would finish a guy who is coming off an unprecedented break???!!!Touch was always going to be a problem, and this has been common across the league. Dusty Martin looked out of touch and shape. The hyperbole on here is laughable

Artificial Crowd Noise
I found R1 almost impossible to watch without the sound as the normal noise and rhythm was gone. The NRL was great and we should do it.

Oskar Baker
Not following Casey, I’m wondering how this guy is going? Speed is asset we don’t have at MFC, from draft reports he has this. Is he a chance to play sooner than later? thanks in advance.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
As a rule we lose these games. We did not play well but don’t be so high and mighty that you can’t enjoy a win in the last second. Ever heard of “winning ugly”? i was watching this with my kids and with 49 sec to go I suggested “never give up”...a great lesson for the kids and a WIN for the team.

Crowd incident - Hawks Dees
Pretty disappointed to hear people waiting for the full story? Under no circumstances is violence like that acceptable. If the Hawthorn supporter was female would that make a difference? its a passionate game but I would be horrified if I was there with my 7 year old girl who loves the Dees especially Clayton and saw this. I love all sports but will not attend Melb Vic v Melb City to avoid incidents like this. It’s 2019, it’s time for many of you to evolve.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
What concerns me is the lack of enthusiasm particularly early in the game. While I am not a fan of over celebrating I’m a keen observer of how many guys get in to celebrate a goal....who picks someone up off the deck etc. There is signs of form but the spirit is most worrisome. this can be faked which then turns into a genuine spirit and it needs to be done now. the season is at a knifes edge

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Gun forwards who kick 50 goals are rare. We have lost a beauty. Good Luck to Jesse....but more importantly Go Dees!

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Steven May better be pretty effing good

Farewell Jesse Hogan
The charter of a footy club is to win a flag. make no mistake , I am a huge Hogan fan, I want him to stay long term. however, we are dealing with professional footballers who are invested when they rolls the balls out. if we have retain Hogan for a year, win the flag and he goes so be it. but who ever we get whether it be May or picks will not see us closer to a flag.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
I get we are after May but I’m not sold. Not the greatest place to ply your trade on the GC but ..I’d take my chances on Hogan over May
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
I simply don’t understand why many on here are so nonchalant about a flat out 50 plus goal kicker potentially leaving. This is kid can play. The draft picks might.....
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
If it’s true this is fantastic news for our club. Teams build and grow and the shine of early picks are great but I’d take s fit Jess Hogan over an 18 year old for where we are right now.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
I may have missed by I haven’t heard anyone who matters say anything as yet. in October flirt is a business, but to win flags it needs to be a family. if Jesse doesn’t want to go, be careful about falling in love with picks. They are hope and Jesse is a 4/5 year player who is blossoming. When a star is traded in any sport rarely do you get $1 for $1. Star forwards are hard to find and we have one....
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
We have only played 4 big games in 10 years. Buddy has been more than serviceable.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
We have waited a long time for Jesse to become a very good player. so many posters on here are so used to getting excited about draft picks this time of year have you forgotten what he was major part of? remember that time Hawthorn got Gunston up and running and then the fans wanted to trade him? Oh ..They didn’t. Dont feed it. Money aside there is little to enthuse about Freos list and ours is on the rise. The FD pulled the right rein with Watts, they need to hold Hogan.

The moment you know when you’re going to win
Pregame. As the players lined up in positions and the MFC dropped a beat from Eminem. To think we could play this? 5 years ago it would have been a ridiculous pompous gimmick...but it clearly shows how far the club has changed. It is perfect and shows we have many things right on and off the field. go Dees!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Without a doubt the best combination of talent, desire and aggression we have had in 20 years. Imagine him at 27? He is our most important player with daylight second.
-
Andrew Gaff
10 seems about right.
-
Darcy Parish
He plays for someone else. Move on

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Glad to have another tough red head to cheer. I need a Peter Walsh type in my life. Welcome Clay and good luck!

DEBT DEMOLITION
Fantastic news for the club. Another avenue for the club would be to set up a trust account where the club could accept funds which are refundable on request. Minimum deposit would be $1000 and retrievable in a weeks time no questions asked. This money could be set up in offset account which would decrease the amount of interest which we accrue against our debt. For those without a mortgage. EG: Debt $3,000,000 at say 8%. Therefore we accrue around $240,000 per year in interest. If we had a further $1,000,000 pledged into a trust fund then we would only have interest agaist $2,000,000. The interst earned over a year would be $160,000. Therefore we would be $80,000 better off with this simple account.
