Everyone is questioning his effort and courage. He is never going to be Sloane, Selwood or Viney. he never shirked a ruck contest when he was one out which is a different type of courage again. he is more Mark Waugh....when he hits 100, it looks effortless...we he gets stumped dancing down the pitch for 3 hd is lazy. I just can't have talent walking out the door. I certainly want him to stay.

Simply put ....if a player is put up for trade and clubs especially Sydney and Geelong perk up. I would take the player off the table. It seems as though it is going to happen. On face value I don't like it at all, but I simply have to put out faith into the club and hopefully we look back in 5 years and this might be a turning point.

The merchandise is rubbish. The New Era caps are great finally. the key to merchandising is that you can wear it not on game day and not look like [censored]. I wear my cap happily all year round but the t shirts and hoodies are hideous. for those who want only red and blue, make the crazy t shirts etc. for those looking for a little more understated, why can't we have a grey t shirt and in red and blue font saying "demons football". The quality of the material also needs to be looked at. Thin crappy hoodies with crazy logos and flames and trident don't interest me. I would happily buy something in navy or grey with the demons logo in a high quality sewn on

Please....maybe a little support would not go astray. Think about what it means to have a players back.

Super happy with the logo. I will be upgrading the hat. Now just leave it. The MLB hats are so iconic because they don't change and so recognisable. Scarves can't be worn in public one non game day as a rule...these hats are everyday wear, every season. Get on board! Go dees

In fairness to the Blazers they already had Clyde Drexler at shooting guard, Kareem was ruling the league and Hakeem Olajuwon (pick 1) and Ralph Sampson were going to be the next Big things of 7 ft terror. Bowie was a legitimate star college player who had a horrendous injury run. No one had any idea Jordan was going to be what he became.

Talking about changes....one thing that has really ticked me off is that I truly love the absurdity of our game....who punches a ball off ones hand? Why not throw it? Why play a game allllll afternoon? Why is it ok to grab someone and tackle them ....but a slight graze to the face is a free? I hate now how when a mark is taken in the goal square a set shot directly in front is awarded. I loved the theatre of putting the forward on a crazy acute angle. In theory it should be straight on shot...but because our game was so "kooky" you had this acute angle shot. I hate how people moan about poor bounces from the umpires...it's a game and should be fraught with these talking points. Whose to say a round ball won't be introduced? One thing I noticed at the NRL grand final was it felt like it was from a bygone era, two tribes red and green and blue and white. Our game is becoming vanilla. Change the coin toss? For what reason? Fix the queus at ETIHAD, I missed the first quarters of Dees v St Kiilda and Bris this year in line. Go Dees...End rant.

Re : free agency, I like the idea the NBA has where if the free agent elects to leave he will need to take less money and a shorter contract to move. A recent example saw Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks stay in a place with less chance of victory for additional money. He would have sacrificed $30 odd mill to move. Imagine James Frawley right now...go to Geelong, Collingwood etc for $2 mill over 4 years, while the Dees could offer $2.5 over 5 years. the decision becomes more complex. People say the players only care for the money, if he truly wanted success...he may sacrifice $$$$. Traditionally clubs had always had to pay more to snare a player, this would be the inverse making the original club a better option and potentially keeping more players one club players and earning more money that if they switched.

Tremendous game. What about Riley's tackle? We haven't hurt anyone in years. Regarding th last chain of handballs, it was great to see no one blazed away, mcdonald (ithink) could have pumped it long to a 2 on 3 elected to handball, vineyard could have tried to be a hero- found cross....he knew his limitations as he was on 50...slipped it to Salem. Agree with many points, dream big imagine everything and plan to win. I am astounded at the quality of merchandise on offer across all AFL clubs. I love the dees but won't wear more than a traditional scarf. The quality of hoodies , t shirts etc are rubbish. the quality of the American sports apparel leaves us for dead. If we had a pure simple logo, on a hat, t shirt, hoodie you would instantly recognise it and it would get worn. Every New Yorker has a Yankee cap, or a Mets cap. It becomes iconic. There are dollars begging to be generated if they could get this correct. Go Dees!

So many Melbourne guys ran around the ball tonight. Salem went straight at it and had good hands. his shepherd was great. I barracked for the Roy's as a boy and just could not follow them north. Roos was my absolute fave and I hated he headed to Sydney but I was getting a little older and couldn't begrudge him. As a player, super smart. mainly played as an undersized CHB in tandem with Gary Pert, they were amazing in the mid 80s. Could go forward or on the ball at times. I distinctly remember a game he won at Princess Park against the Blues, he had 30 plus disposals when touches meant something and then went forward and got the clearance and snapped truly in the final minute. He was a real general and lead with aplomb. I cannot be happier is the new coach.
