  1. Aside from a few weeks of ok form, we're still the same shambolic defence that needed TMAC to go down back to mitigate our awfulness for prime time anzac eve viewing. So that's your answer there.
  2. Sounds like my parents. My dad gets too heated watching it on tv, but somehow nonchalantly can go to his bed at half time and just pop the radio on or turn it off and go to sleep and wake up for the result. And my mum hides in the bathroom or bedroom when a result is even remotely close. Kind of defeats the purpose of following/enjoying watching a sport, but i can think i empathize as i get older and realise it's not good for the heart. It's a very uncomfortable feeling they'd rather avoid. Unless its an important final anyway. I live overseas now, but i find that watching it on delay is the best way for me to take an amount of stress away. i can pause it in and take a break in between goals or even forward thrusts, fast forward through the opponents attack and see if a goal was kicked or if they were repelled. For eg I paused it when Weid marked it and took a 2 minute break to come back to the shot. Makes life easier.
  3. He was slim and athletic instead of solid tonight! Which was good to see. I don't think any team needs a chunky little nugget at half forward that has no strings to his bow. So having a very fit base and slimming down is a good step in the right direction if he wants to prove his worth in the next 13 weeks.
  4. Do i win a spud for predicting that Jenkins would get a hold of Omac? Would've much prefered having Jenkins in our forward line instead of TMac or Smith today.
  5. Probably shouldn't have teased my mother about Saints players eating dodgy sweet n sour pork in China. Probably shouldn't have teased her about St Kilda being a basketcase pre-season either. It all comes back to bite.
  6. Must be the first game Eddie has played without Jetta to smother his influence, at least for a long time anyway. He will be licking his lips.
  7. 3 long bombs from outside 30 that are shepherded through
  8. He's more likely to get caught trying to shrug a third tackler on the run from 30m out
  9. 40 goals for the past 5 seasons before this year, and all people can say about him his 'he only gets joe the goose goals". One of the top 5 most under-rated AFL players.
  10. The ins are ominous. I predict Walker to get off the chain at hf with his running patterns on omac, set up quite a few goals. We move Frost onto him 1/2. Scores reasonably close and Jenkins bobs up for 4 goals in the 2nd half and seal a runaway win. 5 months later Jenkins nominates the Dees for a trade after a coffee date with Goodwin.
  11. Maybe genetics? Dustin Fletcher was never a beefcake
  12. I think he's in our best 22 and great when firing, but he isn't a consistent performer yet and i recall him being dropped at least two times last year. The oft remarked piece of cliche/wisdom is a players stocks grow more rapidly when they're out injured.
  13. Here is an image of all the matchup and position changes Leon made at 3/4 time.
  14. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2019/05/28/dogs-to-target-hawks-premiership-midfielder-and-star-sun-in-potential-trade/ “Trade news comes early, the cashed up Bulldogs have put together their hit list for this year and Isaac Smith is at the top of it. Prodigious talent Jack Martin is the next one on the list. “Smith is a huge favourite of Luke Beveridge’s who spent three years with him at Hawthorn. “Beveridge still believes that Smith is the best wingman in the competition.
  15. There was a critical goal in the first half that should've been touched on the line but Oscar was completely oblivious to a Himmelberg bump that pushed him over the goal line and away from a goal saving spoil. ?‍♂️ Just remembered that one. Bloody clueless.
  16. Bit harsh. His impact last year was worth the years he toiled away in rehab for us taking up a spot on the list. I don't think many players or picks would give us that kind of bang for buck. He has all year to get right for next year and make another big impact.
  17. Anyone that applied for last years end of season draft correct?
  18. We'll need to smother that vaseline somewhere else, against Collingwood the week after.
  19. See, the trick is to watch it on DELAY When it gets to 44-9, you decide to skip through rapidly in 5s increments to see if we're mounting any kind of fight back. Then when its around 56-11 you just skip through minutes at a time and then eventually you've watched quarters 2, 3 & 4 in 10 or so minutes. Then you can devote the hour or two you've saved to doing something useful...
  20. Well the equalization measures suggests that we'll have a logjam in the middle, so i think you need a few more spots to accommodate, 10 in 10 out has a nice symmetry to it. I have a counter point though. Is rewarding the elite accomplishment of finishing 5th and 6th with a home final enough reward? If you're a team like Geelong or St Kilda, then it means nothing when the game is at the MCG and you're playing an MCG team. At least with a top 10, you're giving 5th and 6th an extra weeks rest, and demoting 7th and 8th to an elimination final round vs 9th and 10th straight after the regular season. You'd probably be fresher for a semi final too against a top 4 team. I'm comfortable creating three tiers. top 4, 5 & 6 and then 7-10 but only in the event of a 20 team comp.
  21. Pyke to Sydney, Horse to Kangas, Goodwin to Adelaide, Roos to Melbourne, Scott to Carlton, Bolton to On The Couch You heard it here first.
  22. Nah I want a fresh Tasmanian team, they would be most peoples affectionate 2nd team we all want to see succeed and rooting for the Roos is just too unpalatable. My masterplan for the comp includes 20 teams, 19 round season, 10 team finals series and so North moving to Tassie disrupts that. Fresh Tassie team and another team somewhere else please.
