To be honest PF you were smelling smoke when we missed the finals, I don’t want to quote you but sure that you were firmly in the camp of - Sack them all, clean the place out burn the place down - Where there is smoke there must be fire 🔥. To this extent you got part of your wish come true but a lot of it has been media blowing smoke up peoples backsides.

2024 Player Reviews: #20 Adam Tomlinson
Adam is an all round good bloke and very competent footballer, in my mind very stiff to be delisted and leaves our defensive stocks a bit light on.

Picket and Dazzle please paint me a picture whereby the CEO of an AFL club would - off their own bat do a ring around to other AFL clubs and offer up their top player. It just beggars belief. I. E - Perty wakes up one day and says to himself, hmmn a bit bored today I wonder what we could get for young Oliver, the FD, President and Board wouldn’t have any problems with me doing this…????

That is very amusing Dave1711, very droll indeed.

Every one can put their own spin on any issue Dazzle, as I have said ad- nausea’s I don’t readily believe anything I hear and only half of what I see. I bet if Goody rang Steve he would get a different story and I bet Steve’s sister would have a different version of the truth. Fact is - Geelong had no currency to bring in Smith & Oliver at the same time, so they were just muddying up the water, or putting the boots in, there is little love lost between the two teams. I expect that Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca will return to the fold healthy and energised and that both players will contribute significantly to our rise up the ladder.

Yes they have to enhance Tracc’s injury no mention of the wonder boy that caused it. Ha ha.!!

Definitely KC we should have afforded the Petracca family more love initially and shut down the Kozzie rumours quicker. As for Clayton, sounds like a bit of a managers bush picnic, I’d expect the club to sort that out. And perhaps channeled the conversations via a trusted media person, if one exists.

Sorry KozzyCan, in my opinion it was a media pile-on that blew everything out of proportion that pushed the player towards the blues or filth.

Club in crisis - Media pile on - August 2024
Unfortunately Damien Barrett is the worst kind of media personality his behaviour is quite cowardly and vengeful. Time to go hard MFC, we cannot let this spiteful character get away with this attempt at face saving B S.

Club in crisis - Media pile on - August 2024
Yes we watched that with great interest last night sounds like Ch9 have a Very Toxic group leading their Culture, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. AFL haven’t covered themselves in glory either standing idly by watching the media personalities piling on to Dees and ignoring much worse cultural issues at other clubs. Grrrrrrrr…!!

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Unless the MFC roll out the Eddie McGuire model that worked so well for the Pies, come out firing against anything that is untrue or unsubstantiated stay a bit angry and a bit Cranky Franky a bit edgy and predictable, Club first rhetoric. Show no mercy to the Media lightweights and give them a pat on the back when they say something positive. Go after specific dung throwers and put them off their game, the supporters will enjoy it and the AFL will take notice that we are no longer the Lambs to the Slaughter.

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
Thanks Adam Tomlinson there but for a cruel injury you could have been a Premiership hero. Good luck and wish you all the best in any future ventures.

2024 Trade Week Report Cards
I don’t care what the media personalities think, definitely a B+ first off - We held our three guns despite media wanting them out to embarrass the club and teach us a lesson??? We got lucky with pick 5, and then Tim Lamb showed us what he is best at and traded in Pick 9. He then bought in the fastest gun from the North, Harry should play R1. He bought in Campbell early to provide ruck relief for Max, Tom won Sandringham’s B&F, so will elevate Casey immediately. He also moved a number of players out of the club to open up spaces for 4-6 players to help the continued rejuvenation of the club. He was handicapped last year as most players were contracted. Personally I feel much happier about 2025 than I did three weeks ago. If that makes me a “Happy Clapper” count me in.

Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
Id like to see Noah Rookie’d, he is a good size and has shown that he is a talented youngster, being an Yze I see it as repaying Adem in some small way for his great services to the Dees. We have more spots this year and can accommodate him and who knows he could be a ripper and it may help sway others in the years to come. I.e Dees respect the tradition of F/S’s.

Christian Petracca
Thanks robbiefrom13 that was a great read, you captured the very essence of Christian Petracca, well written we should revisit this post at the end of 2025. 👏👏

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Welcome aboard Harry Sharp glad that you chose the Dees looking forward to seeing your extra pace out on the G once you have earned your spurs. Four years in the Lions system so should fit in well with our young brigade.

Dan Houston
All I can say is Pies paid full price for Houston and I am glad that he chose not to come to us, Port could do ok I like Lukosius and Gold Coast get to death ride Pies and Port next year, a bit jealous actually.

Christian Petracca
Wow we have our Christian Petracca back, what a huge effort Tracca, with a lot of luck and hard work from from the rest of our group we could have a huge ‘25 and beyond.
