PODCAST: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
Thanks Andy Binman and all posters, I had a listen on Tuesday night and concur with all the positive posters, another great listen on a game that really could have been ours. Really enjoyed your thoughts on the game nice to get a clear perspective on the whyโs, whereforeโs and nuances of the game and strange how we were right in it despite Tracc, Clarry and Max all being well down on their average performances. Itโs a bit of a shame that the negativity is outweighing the on field gains that we are currently seeing with our playing group, I hope for the FD and playing groups sake that they turn up for each and every game left in this unholy season. Thanks again.๐๐

Trade Targets
Thanks SONS but are you suggesting that Clayton is only worth 300K a year, he is still in our top 5 and will be 28 next year. May has a year to go but could go again, Rick has strong leadership qualities that we need and has been cruelled by injury, he needs an injury free preseason to get back to his elite best. Melksham should go again but we need to clear some space in the List, we need to clear 6-8 spots and fast track Adamโs, Verrall, Kentfield and Seston if we are keeping them. Itโs a tough gig SONS but there will need to be some hard decisions made going into 2026.

Farewell Judd McVee
I really rate Judd McVee and hope that he stays with us for the rest of his career, he has a good skill set that currently suits our needs. We donโt know what is happening behind the scenes to cause his reluctance to sign a new contract particularly 7 weeks out from seasons end but I hope we can resolve his concerns.

You should take some time out to watch our games doomsday Dee, we beat Brissie up there, also Freo, Swans, pushed Hawks, Pies, GCS and Crows also pushed GWS to within a goal. We really arenโt that far off the pace but I guess that doesnโt suit your agenda. If the Team was lost do you think we would be pushing the top sides to within a couple of goals??

We may have to cash in our 2026 1st rounder to buy a few 2nd and 3rd rounders to help refresh the list. Iโm thinking trades not Rookies, so many uncertainties.

Surely there is a tall fwd on a list that is caught in a logjam at their club who would consider coming to the Dees, one of the Whitlocks for example. And donโt call me Shirley.

TRAINING: Tuesday 8th July 2025
Another big thanks to Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters and special comments, greatly appreciated. Good to hear that Sesto is only a further week away and that Luker shrinks during the day (lol), good turn up given the atrocious conditions GW, you reporters are dedicated indeed. Letโs hope the boys set themselves for North this week.

Time to go Goody?
Itโs pretty sad when you want your team to lose to get your own way, me I hope we win every game we play, I ride every win and loss with our team and hope fervently that we can arise again with most of our team intact and that we only trade in to cover immediate needs. ie a Back a Fwd and a Mid of some quality. I trust our coaches more than I do some of our supporters.

And yet they have 6 Keith Bluey Truscottโs, 2 AFL Coaches Awards, a Premiership and our only Norm Smith Medal between them. Jeezuz the worm turns quickly doesnโt it.

Tracc is currently 26th & Clayton is 39th for total disposals so far this year and they are both coming off injuries, Tracc is also 4th in Score involvements 114, Tracc 62 tackles, Claz 80 tackles and Salem is 4th for Marks in the league. No one else bar Max is even close. Re you solely basing your opinions on points scored??

Stats File - 2025 edition
I think that one of the reasons that we stayed in the game was the way the team was utilised to nullify their teams advantages and that included Riv, Langford, Chandler and Sparrow playing their roles. Besides we got plenty of the ball, they were more efficient. I considered that our coaches initially seized the initiative and then readjusted the side after half time to stay right in the game until the dying minutes and who knows what May have happened if the non goal wasnโt paid their way at a very crucial time in the game. Tracc, Clayton and JV all played their role just poor finishing let us down.

CASEY: Rd 15 vs Coburg
Agree NC why isnโt he playing in the fwd line and using his 199cm to mark or bring the ball to ground, feels like he is being wasted.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
If you go back and watch the first half you will see that we played in a similar manner to our game V Dockers, lots of short passes, playing on quickly and taking their tall marking players out of the game. It worked really well just let ourselves down in kicking for goal. Crows coach said they had to make a number of structural changes to get them back in the game. Crows and Dockers have plenty of tall excellent marking options that are hard to nullify, they got back the momentum half way through the 2nd then we had to adjust our game plan in the 2nd half to stay with them, Which we did.

CASEY: Rd 15 vs Coburg
DiscoStu17, I think that JvR is our No.2 and Petty will hold down No.1 until we find a suitable replacement, so Jeffo could be developed as our No.3 to let him find his feet and add the extra height in the forward line. Who knows Kentfield may be well and truly ready in 2026 to add to the mix. Has Jed Adamโs ever played forward? Just thinking out loud but Verrall needs to be developed as a fwd/ruck as well. Interesting six months ahead I believe.
