Agree mate. For him to actually take the next step he needs to show more then just playing as a loose defender. With his current body size I do worry though. Still looks like a take.

Did Mahoney explain the reason behind Omac omission? Carlton have a 204cm McKay, and 201cm Casboult up forward. Our tallest defender is 195cm tall who is Jake Lever... I must admit I'm a bit surprised he got dropped.

I'm currently watching the Queens Birthday game from 2018 and Joel Smith was the inclusion for Jake Lever. Played a really impressive game in defence that day. Definitely has all the attributes to become a really good defender, but as already noted his body let's him down.

He was more talented then Travis Johnstone.

In my time since supporting the club since 1998 then no I personally I haven't. Could have easily won a brownlow had he not been dogged by injuries..
