Melbourne - premiership contenders?
Yes its a fluff article, but actually worth a read. The Melbourne Demons are a genuine 2021 AFL premiership contender

2021 Injury List
This is the exact reason why I wanted two 18 year old power key forwards in Jackson Callow and Kaine Baldwin to be given the opportunity to trial with us over the summer instead of Kobe Farmer or Deakyn Smith. I still felt imo that we needed a developing tall forward sitting in the wings as there were still question marks over BB body. https://afl.draftcentral.com.au/2020/06/11/afl-draft-watch-jackson-callow-tasmania-devils-allies/ https://afl.draftcentral.com.au/player/kaine-baldwin/

This is a big statement to make on the back of 0 internal information. You've put yourself out there..

2021 Injury List
This. Do it with my right shoulder. Felt like I went into games confident that the strapping kept it more stable after an injury many years ago. Haven't had an issue ever since now that I get it taped each game. But yet according to @DeeSpencer I shouldn't have been training all this time ?♂️

Scully "steps away"
1. Open Mike has officially retired (one of my all time favourite shows) 2. We won't hear from Scully. Extremely private fella who'll drift off and most like not have anything to do with footy at all.

2021 Leadership Group
This is a silly argument. Position has no bearing whether you are a successful captain or not. Tom Harley Nick Maxwell Luke Hodge Easton Wood There's 4 successful leaders right there who won premiership as captains playing down back. Chris Judd was one of the best midfielder of the modern game. But he was a terrible leader.

Great opportunity for Sparrow to really step up now.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
Listen to Jason Taylor himself. He was drafted on the back of dominating school footy in 2019 and then tearing the Sandy Dragons trial games at the start of 2020. School footy form is now becoming a key platform for recruiter's now days. His form in that was quiet strong and that along with his draft combine is what got him drafted. A lot of phantom draft and draft talk had him around that pick 30 to 40 range. I do agree that there is probably a little bit too much hype and personally I don't think he'll play round 1 nor do I think he'll start on the wing. I think he'll start forward and play his best footy there.

Max Gawn was pick 34 on the back of 2 knee reconstructions and no TAC cup footy.....

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
Its not a silly comparison. One of Curnow's nights strength was his high end endurance and ability to work his opponents through his workrate. The only thing Rosman would have over Curnow is his contested marking.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
One of the things that impressed me the most when watching his highlights was his vice like contested marking. Sure knows how to take a grab. There was no double grab just full clunks. I know he's been training as a wingman, but do wonder if he'll start up forward. He also has the frame to put on some serious size as well which is exciting.

Kobe Farmer
Sure. Xavier Maher Murray Bushrangers. 185cm inside mid with power and acceleration from the contests who is able to break away from packs with speed and use the footy well. Was part of the AFL Academy program and was tipped to go inside 25 in the draft. Worked with him back in the under 16's. Currently training with Carlton. Melbourne showed interest pre draft. Liam Kolar Northern Knights. 195cm utility who a bit like Rosman is a freakish athlete who plays mostly down back, but was training in the midfield group over the summer with the potential of playing the wing role. Has high level of speed and endurance and another who was tipped to go top 30. Pretty sure who it was Richmond who showed strong interest. Will no doubt get another fair go in the under 19s program. Kaine Baldwin Glenelg Tigers. 194cm strongly built key forward who last few years has been ruined by knee injuries. His under 16's championships was elite to the point that he was then talked about a potential top 5 draft prospect. Since then he's had two knee reconstruction. Sam Fisher Swan Districts. 22 year old mature age player who had an outstanding season in the WAFL this year and averaged about averaged 26.9 disposals (ranked 2nd in the WAFL) and 7.5 clearances (3rd) per game. He won the Sandoval medal by playing as an inside/outside midfielder and has an immense running power that is able to run his opponents to the ground. Who was someone I personally hope that we would invite to train. Would put enormous pressure on our mids, and show them what two way running is all about. Rhyan Mansell Eagle SANFL. One bloke who i thought was extremely stiff to miss out in the draft. 182cm rebounding defender who came from tassie and had a consistent season with the eagle. Great skills by foot but also his ability to read play and use his great strength with his intercept marking. Currently training with Richmond. I hope he gets picked up. Henry Walsh Geelong Falcons. 204cm tall 18 year ruckman who also was part of their AFL Academy Program. He is a good player at ground level and wins a number of clearances with his follow-up work. He was expected to have a huge role at state and NAB League level, but hasn’t been able to show how much he has developed in 12 months. Watch for him in the under 19s program coming up this year. Needs to add a few kilos but. Jackson Callow 195cm Strongly built 18 year old forward from Tasmania who again was extremely stiff to miss out. He is a contested marking beast who again came through the AFL Academy Program. I would have loved either him or Baldwin to be invited for a train on over the summer just to see how they would go in a professional full time environment. Kicked 24 goals in 14 games as a bottom age player in the NAB league back in 2019. Will be keeping a close eye on him this year. I've named 7 players so far @jayceebee31 @Baghdad Bob. Happy to keep going??

Kobe Farmer
I could reel off 10 names from the draft/state leagues that missed out who had far greater impact, but are imo better players in general then farmer.

Scully "steps away"
Speaks more on the individual that they can still hold s grudge on something that happened 10 years ago...

Scully "steps away"
Pretty sure I read a while ago with an interview with Scully that if he had his time over again he would have done things a lot different. So at least he has acknowledged it. I too have no ill feeling towards him and truly wish him and his family good health.

Scully "steps away"
Thought we had the next Judd when we drafted him. He's a very average player. I still focus a lot in watching former dees on telly when I get a chance and sculls is just an average player in general. Still runs hard through games but butchers it still. From a personal point of view I hope he is okay and gets the required support he needs. Think we need to be mindful in that aspect regardless of what you think of him. People struggling enough as it is in this world.
