  1. No he wasn't. I believe they didn't attract many applicants because of how bad the place was and certainly wasn't an enticing place to attract good applicants at the time. It took Greg Swann to pick up and put the call out to Fgan and asked if he was interested. Fagan was general manager of footy for the Hawks at the time and had always held interest in coaching so he took the call, went up and interviewed and the rest is history.
  2. Very similar to the mess that Chris Fagan walked into when he took on the Brisbane gig.
  3. Danny Daly. Has been Chris Fagans right hand man for the past couple of years and has been noted as a big architect in their success behind the scenes. Currently a wanted man around the country. Adelaide were chasing him hard as a senior assistant to support Matthew Nicks. Collingwood are also chasing him hard as we speak. Fages pays full credit to Daly for his support and ability to provide calmness and stability when he was stood down for the racial investigation. A wise man who's an incredible character very similar to Fagan.
  4. Article please..
  5. Agree wholeheartedly and made the exact same comment last night when I was tuning in live. His was slurring his speech. Some said it was nerves but it wasn't. I've seen him nervous at a press conference and it was nothing like last night. His introduction of Max Gawn as runner up was just plain weird and bizarre. Some odd pauses and not even a mention of a well deserved recognition for a 7th All Australian jumper.
  6. Huge huge fan of Langford. Don't worry about his deficiencies, the kid is a very natural footballer who is destined to become a top shelf AFL footballer.
  7. I don't use this term on Melbourne players but I will with McHenry.. He is a genuine spud, please do not go near him. We're trying to improve our list, not make it worse with crabs like McHenry.
  8. Yeah I feel Sims has been underrated throughout the year. Wouldn't mind picking him if he'd still there later down the track.
  9. Shanahan and Armstrong are way ahead of him as a forward prospect.
  10. Taura is not what we need. The other 3 fit the bill though.
  11. One source went as far as saying that the jobs of premiership coach Simon Goodwin and Head of Football Alan Richardson are no longer safe; such is the scepticism over the intentions of some.
  12. Pretty sure that's the main reason for the trade. Just had twins and there is zero family support for them up in Sydney where as Wade has family down in Melbourne.
  13. Wayne's just come off a big week celebrating the 1964 premiership so just go easy on him would ya..
  14. Goody a bit slurry on the speech there..
  15. Heard the interview with Jason McCartney this morning. He was very adamant that Derksen would not be traded. Disappointing as I was one who was excited with his potential and ability.
  16. My god that was terrific by Gus. Make him CEO/President.
  17. Well clearly that's not the case.
  18. My money on JVR to win the junior leadership award.
  19. Some heavy competition, and unfortunately probably some are in a better position to offer more then what we can.
  20. Can someone post full article
  21. Saints now have picks 7 and 8. Would the Saints come for Oliver knowing that either those picks would get the deal done?
  22. I'd add Tholstrup to that mix also. Hynes and one of those other elite junior mids keeps us contending for another few years.
