We can't just treat our players as trading pieces to be shuffled around without taking into account the impact on team morale (and as you said dynamics). How can the club demand loyalty and keep a strong list together in an environment where they'd need to accept less money if we turned around and did that? Trading Jesse who is a loved and respected figure at the club would have much bigger ramifications than just player in/player out. Football isn't the same as a straight business where the prime objective is to make as much money as possible - its a lot more emotional than that!

Unless he requests a trade, I can't see it happening...Goodwin hasn't built the foundations of the club on strong relationships only to offload one of our most promising young stars when he's just about to peak

Bad idea. He's not going to want to go to Freo they are rubbish. And I'm not sure it's great idea to make one of our main rivals (West Coast) stronger while weakening our forward options.
