  1. Maybe, but it seems like a very light touch launches him forward like Lockett smashed him in the back
  2. the minute weideman stops running under the footy will be the minute he starts taking more marks.
  3. I reckon one could not so much switch allegiances, rather just follow (not support or barrack) the team that currently plays a style that you personally like/admire. For example, while I hate Hawks and Cats, there have been many times in the past that you could sit and watch them play and (if not playing Melbourne) really enjoy the game of footy. much like watching dunstall, Ablett snr, lockett and duck in days gone by, you always hated playing against them, but jeez it was fun to watch them beat up on some other poor unfortunate team.
  4. Very valid point Rusty, at the moment unless I see improvement by end of this season in the areas that Goodwin keeps telling us they are working really hard on, then I won’t be signing up for next year (1x adult + 3 kids). I’m sure there are many in similar position as me, I’m so bored with seeing the same issues week in week out. Up until the last two weeks I was firmly in the “give them more time” camp but the past two games have swung me (off the back of 18 months of seeing the same issues). New coach, I would sign up no worries.
  5. Told my 7 and 4yo girls after the game that if they wanted to change clubs they could and it was now or never ? The oldest said “no way” and proudly pranced around the house in her demons jumper and footy shorts, the 4yo was like “yeah let’s go for the dogs!!! (Their mothers team) ?
  6. Max has two prying pans attached to his wrists today
  7. Have they changed the holding the ball rule? He had absolutely no prior opportunity
  8. The annoying thing about today is that Geelong have a very simple game plan that is extraordinarily predictable but it works ok for their slow old legs. That we looked surprised that they played that way and didn’t really have any method to counter it other than wait until they miskicked it for a turnover is very frustrating to say the least.
  9. You’ve just doomed us! Never, ever tip Melbourne! ???
  10. Cats 12.1 = 73 Melb 8.20 = 68
  11. Switched off after the first quarter as was bored with how easy the game was for us. Did we win by 15 or 20 goals in the end? jokes, so Melbourne
  12. Heheh that’s quite a funny quip! Can’t wait to beat them this year ?
  13. Super please this year we have practiced winning in the preseason practice games, think this will stand us in good stead come the season proper ?
  14. Pleased to hear this Saty. Said during the season, if he went on the Gawn diet and exercise regimen during the off season he would become far more mobile and could potentially be a deep forward type plus forward 50 ruck. I think the club also said post season that they are looking to develop his forward work so hopefully we are seeing the beginnings of that ?
  15. If we were Carlton we’d get 6
  16. Agree on the sample size, but I think the point is still relevant. Many would think we would be cactus without gawn but the stats don’t seem to suggest that. At the end of the day I don’t think we need 4 ruckman.
  17. Last 3 years: Melb 69 Games for 33wins and 36 losses = 47.8% wins With Gawn playing 59 games for 27wins and 32 losses = 45.7% wins Without Gawn 10 games for 6 wins and 4 losses = 60% wins Given we have an excellent backup option already, plus a backup to the backup. And given our win loss ratio is better when gawn doesn’t play. Not sure a backup to the backup to the backup is required.
  18. Then we sack the club and start a new one from scratch
  19. Love this move, we all want the club to be brave and creative, well here it is! BOOM Also, somebody on trade radio said north may be looking to bottom out as have been mid table for a while. This may be one way they do that whilst improving their position next year to bounce.
  20. For sure, didn’t think about that. Hell make it three first rounders! PS For what it’s worth, I don’t want him to go
  21. Surely 2 first rounders give he played more games than Lever? jokes
  22. Being told it’s another 4-6 week injury
  23. Other than height I made no comparisons between the two and their respective abilities.
