  1. Can't help. But a wooden spoon year? Ploise exploin!
  2. I presume you meant the first name, not the second? If the second, not Nigel, I presume. It certainly is an 'active' one much more locally, where Rhyan hails from! Any relation? And another Indigenous lad therefore?
  3. Re OP, not as an indicator of government attitude, I would say. At best, a negotiation leverage for Rennick, Mahoney, et al, if well grasped (to go with all those OTHER leverages listed above!) Seems to be strongly based on its community credentials in the Gamadji and Houli aspects, while our plans are viewable, by those who might want to, as self serving. Fascinating that a club that has won 3 of the last 4 flags can make a case for "...improvements and much needed upgrades to (its) men's...football facilities..."
  4. A mixed day for our Number 53 draft picks! Perhaps lucky we've traded out of our 2020 holding of that pick... Thanks Oscar (and good luck Aaron). I'm remembering the good bits.
  5. Ironic referencing J.Lord in a B.Brown thread - opposite ends of the hirsute spectrum! JL was an early, premiership hero of mine - I must have intuited where my own head was going! I'm fascinated by the polarisation here on Brown (though it's heavily positively one-sided). Me, I can't guess how he's going to be; I'm just waiting to be very pleasantly surprised and looking forward to the extra watchability he'll bring.
  6. Well, if no-one else will...
  7. Move over Angus Brayshaw. Can someone do a Brown mop / Gawn broom mash-up for a 2021 'Captain's Run' promo?
  8. Please feel free to borrow my hyphen, anyone using this word! Shudders otherwise!?
  9. Michael's is one of those stories, isn't it. Nice then.
  10. Felt like we ALL were this year, Doffa! Pile my thanks on to all the others, Demonland Elves?
  11. Brad has put some (dare I say it!?) demons to bed, which is warming to see. I happened to call what turned out to be his Mum in a membership call-out shortly after he 'left' the club. She was NOT happy. Welcome back, Brad. And MRS Green, I hope!?
  12. I worked with David Rennick, as a representative of a corporate client using his firm's property, development and construction expertise, over a number of years in a past life. Serious Dees supporter (our relationship was during the exciting '90s!), central to growing his niche firm to major status, and/but a down to earth regular guy. I expect his worth will be considerable in the new headquarters project.
  13. Does the idea come with any "You've got mail" weight, Simon??
  14. "eek two or three more years..." Tom? Eek indeed!
  15. I'd be in the 'sad / whatever's best for Nev / concern for effect on remaining players' camp. Over on their board, I expected to find universal "What thu?!" but they seem not totally against it, though pretty luke warm! Themes seem to be his fit for an all-or-nothing go at 2021, and like-for-like replacement. Also mention of playing forward. And getting a good person (?DeeSpencer) in an area where they have been battling to prove they're alright?...
  16. Jeez, isn't Membership supposed to be core business for a CLUB, which I think is in the name of both organisations?! G.Pert has certainly made a big thing of it in COVID-20! Has anyone emailed Pert directly on this? (I'm not affected; financial constraints many years ago meant I had to choose and I went the 'DrysdaleD path'?...)
  17. His interview after the Fremantle (Sydney?) loss confirms Christian tells it like it is. So his NAB piece here seems like an insight into how players at this top level might actually fundamentally feel: that 'success' lies in getting there, being there, performing there, excelling there, staying there, enjoying there, on a weekly basis; that 'ultimate' success to them may be a happy (and rare) consequence, rather than a driver, of their week-in-week-out, career-long efforts directed at the more fundamental success? Supporters' focus is a little different, of course?...
  18. On a serious note, Brown vs TMac?How much different was Brown's 2020 form from Tom's? Can all Brown's fall be blamed on others? Can all Tom's fall be blamed on him?
  19. *cough* Chris Dawes (Just being a smartie; I actually didn't mind his contribution. ...and there goes my cred.)
  20. I did Sarge n you beat me to it!? Yep, so many players, weren't there! Jacko gave my kids a twinkle of interest but Stinga finally sold them on the Dees. They've regretted it pretty much ever since, mind you...?
  21. And Demonland going for our 'second Firsts' with increasing attention and appreciation. Nice! (Foundation Member)
  22. ...with his right foot, perhaps, as you say 58er!
  23. As a 60-year supporter of the club, regardless of 'ultimate' (IS it, though?) success, I can't help but have special regard for players applying similar, unshakeable loyalty - with the bonus of a healthy income! - in the relatively small number of years that is their playing life. So I'm in the "Great news!" camp. 36 goals in 135 games; that's something to work on though...
  24. From the club's website, our AFLW list manager Todd Patterson is saying "This year’s pool is strong (sic) than ever before." The exposed form must be a year old though? Re interstate players, this aspect is influenced by prospective draftees being able to nominate state/s they will go to. Anyway, I agree with WWSW; good luck to all the girls. And it's nice having TWO seasons to look forward to!?
  25. What's everyone's collective memories of the last time/s this amount of media and D'land speculation on 'significant result X' DIDN'T end with X resulting? I'm thinking there might have been quite a few??
