  1. It's there, Layzie - see p.2
  2. Our last 'grand final' win was at night, WCW, and boy did that feel like a grand final win for the success starved! Getting ahead of myself though...
  3. Per my earlier post, Jaded, look at twilight record๐Ÿ˜
  4. 'Balls' was my coach for a 'Play On The G' game (Jeff Hilton was the other) That's when a real connection between past and present - that I wasn't aware of, and which you might normally only associate with 'community' footy - struck me. From my experience, then, it's real...
  5. Sunset 6.14 in Perth, so an hour of 'daylight'. How's our 'twilight' record?
  6. That's who LDVC meant, I'd say, but I think there's another one, now 81...
  7. Next, then - these twenty-three MFC men select themselves. Where's the 'tether'? (PM me) John Lord, Hassa Mann, Ken Emselle, Bob Gormly, Ted Lees, John Toll, Darryl Schwarz, Peter Weekes, Greg Wells, Ray Carr, Stephen Kerley, Kim Smith, John Tossol, Steven Stretch, Mark Bradly, Mark Jamar, Nick Smith, Kyle Cheney, Jack Watts, Max Gawn, Mitch Clisby, Ben Kennedy, Tim Smith. The squad of 23 is sufficient for a modern team but I doubt they'd compete; several have single-figure games tallies, and they wouldn't have all positions covered, I'd say. But it is a unique squad, consisting of players who debuted with the Dees since my childhood second favourite player, John Lord RIP, himself debuted. For nothing other than convenience, I've listed them in debut date order.
  8. Um, I think I pipped him? But, by our mutual 'Likes', I think we're happy to share?!
  9. Ah, so it's not Domino's! (My shock-face reaction was to a tattoo of same, not the product. To pizza, of any persuasion, I too am partial. Indeed, fully!) Nothing from me just yet, then, WCW; you have the floor.
  10. I shall care for them as if they were family (my own being so remote in our current dystopia...)
  11. Would everyone like another? It is only Tuesday, on a slow football week. Not.
  12. DS, you could almost have got away with subbing Essendon's Bruce Dodson in for our Nathan๐Ÿ˜...
  13. Snap, Earl!
  14. Jesse kicking a bag would provide a sentimental bone of interest. Otherwise I'm in the Beat Each Other Up camp.
  15. No Dees. Thoughts?
  16. We will. And we will.
  17. As I was listening, was thinking all the things I'd say about Gus. Then read on and found you'd said them all! Thank you, everyone Would just add, through the constant and widespread messaging, I'm genuinely believing now that the players are genuinely playing for US!
  18. Ah, yes, of course! But 'twas a product of a unique, exploitable and fleeting perversity of rules. Our legion arises from a settled and competitive rules regime. But, with Stan Alves involved, underdog-ness, premiership virginity, victories over disliked teams (I never hate), quirky stars, etc, North's exploits then (but definitely not since) provided me some engagement and thrill when my team's weren't, so much!
  19. Prefer - GWS. We can beat both but a GWS game will bring much less emotional baggage (for me, mainly!) Believe - GWS. Loss of Greene isn't all-or-nothing. GWS emotionally high after last weekend, Geelong shot. Geelong playmakers can be more easily identified, planned for and dealt with.
  20. A subset question to your OP one, Dan: Has a club - MFC particularly but indeed any club - ever put together a better, larger group of 'foreign legionnaires' than our club has? Five 'starting 22' in May, Lever, Tomlinson, Langdon and Brown plus door-knockers Hibberd and Melksham. Throw in Majak Daw and Mitch Brown if depth is needed for a tie-break.
  21. If the West Australians can match the South Australians of last weekend (and I think they might actually do better) then we'll do all right, I reckon. Particularly if GWS is the away team.
  22. A timely thread, Girl; I was looking for somewhere to say I realised some time (well!) after midnight last night that I was overdosing on Demonland. Time for a break!
