CHANGES: AFLW Rd 03 vs St. Kilda
...and one of our faces for the Pride Round / Dees guernsey showing 😒

Covid disrupting Pride Round
For sure! It's proven to be good so far, although the opposition have had their problems, too.

MFC junior Academy Match
Any chance it's a curtain-raiser to the Dees v Saints women tomorrow? But you'd think we'd have heard. And I'm not sure how the new facilities cope with womens and mens teams on the same day?

Round 2 Goal and Mark of the Year - Vote for two Demons!
Phew! Glad my 'Gonna' votes weren't needed. Congrats to Bannan on her 'quinella quinella'; in this one, and made her own one with the Rising Star.

AFLW Pride Guernsey
It's a ripper, isn't it! (would have been even nicer if the colour transitioning in the numbers had matched the subtlety of the yoke's). Men's shape, too, Allus? I think the women's guernsey has a gathered(?) waist and flare(?) over the hips? (not such a prob, though, if you'll be wearing it Zanker-style!😉 I noticed, in the club site vid about the guernsey, that the girls, and Stinear, were at pains to tell it is for diversity of all sorts, not just in sexuality and gender (indeed, the lack of reference to LGBTQI+ - save for the appreciation of the Ruby Demons - was noticeable). I'm not well versed in these things: does the rainbow's embrace extend beyond those letters (and their '+')?

Tom McDonald - Discernable Podcast
A serious thread hijacked by ha-ha-iness. I like it. And Rev. Spooner would like to reclaim his aphasion from Mrs Malaprop. (I thus throw my hat into the smart arze ring...)

Tom McDonald - Discernable Podcast
Seems so. Refer his apparent Federal voting thoughts 😬. Also his thoughts on the '20%' (Side game: Who might the '5 to 10' of his teammates be who share his 'exploring alternatives' tendencies? 5 to 10 of 44 being about 20%, as it happens...) Back on the footy side Wong (not surprisingly, I guess, given his random 'interview' approach) missed an obvious opportunity to explore the effect of COVID on elite fitness. Goodness knows he did other aspects of Tom's/AFL's fitness to death...

Tom McDonald - Discernable Podcast
Why did that even happen? Although, 1. Tom did get COVID (and 'last week'. I presume Wong has a stock of RATs) 2. Tom is considering David Limbrick for his first thoughtful Federal election vote...

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
If I recall, you were going to listen while weeding. 'Weeding'. Hmmmm... Mind blowing indeed.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
😆 But, what happens in SW Gippy stays in SW Gippy... Cue jokes about gene pools...

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Scene: Yesterday; long, rather remote, deserted SW Gippy beach (aka Paradise btw...) Two dots grow bigger to each other from their respective ends of this picture of isolation (the nice kind...), finally closing to conversation distance, and realisation... Dees-capped him: 'Great to see another Melbourne supporter!' Dees-capped me: 'Yes! Hey hey!' Snappy. 🤦♂️

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 2 vs Richmond
I've also since watched the full replay, D_I_O. Couldn't get EZ into my tops. I agree on KP; I was just pleased to see her playing after the letdown for her last year (same round, same oppo? - that must have been a little challenging)

VOTES: AFLW Rd 02 vs Richmond
Just watched the replay ( thank you, https://www.womens.afl/match-replays ) - my 'live': 5. K. Paxman 4. E. McNamara 3. T. Harris 2. K. Hore 1. L. Pearce OMs to E. West, S. Goldrick, D. Pearce. And special mention to E. Zanker for the tucked-in jumper. Stuff tailored style; gimme old school discipline. Unique in the league?

Dees Relaunch Academy Program
So, on a straw poll, that'd be a 'No', a "No', a 'No', a "No', a 'No', a "No', a 'No', and a "No'. Where might I find a case for 'Yes, that's a good idea'?

Anyone? The commentators seemed to 'get it'.

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 2 vs Richmond
Though you were probably referencing the boys WCE game last year, the real oh no not again for the girls would have been the very first game, at Casey, against Brisbane. My family group left the game when the lighting and rain storm set in at half time, and, though it seemed almost certain the game would be called off, Muggins stayed on, through the extended (and wet!) half time. Against the odds, the game resumed, the girls could not adapt to the wet, and we were overrun. Depressing. The inability to adapt to the wet was our downfall in that first year - the later wet game, against GWS, saw us again trying to apply our 'skilled' kicking game, while their 'just kick it long' game won the day and saw us miss the finals.

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 2 vs Richmond
Thanks all posters and just watched the highlights. Must have been a bit like Anzac Eve last year, with Richmond's 'Uh-oh!' start but, again like the boys, being behind means nothing to the girls. I do like this 'reset' attitude that seems to be a whole-of-club thing. Also liking that - again again like the boys - the girls have the 'if x is down, y stands up' capability. Great depth and the ability to maximise its application. Zanker 2 from 2 BOGs it seems? And Harris, on a trajectory yet? - 1, 2, ...? Gee, she's a 'presence', too! Good to see KP back and (from the 'gameday gallery') firing.

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 2 vs Richmond
Tyranny of distance for me again this week. And no FTA. So, looking forward to reports, from those of you in another "very vocal Melbourne crowd".
