  1. Thanks match sim watchers; sounds like Josh and James knew what they were talking about!
  2. Is the guy in the suit holding handcuffs? Must have heard that new team with the jailbird stripes was sniffing around Jeremy...
  3. I am, BA! I like that thought, but I'll have to spring it on our little coterie unawares. Or devilishly disguise it, perhaps...mwah ha ha ha!
  4. Congratulations on what eventually proved to be quite an accessible quiz, WH! The '3 links' was an interesting twist. And congrats to all participants, whichever of Grade (me*), District (@Bombay Airconditioning), State (@WalkingCivilWar) or Test (your winners) level they reached. * I have taken some very minor comfort from having understood that 'relatively' was a clue of the effect you intended.
  5. The other fan sites can't touch us for things intellectual! Scientia propter scientiam
  6. I thought Clarry - the ears have it. Also looks like he was pre-emptively self-censoring his current 'do'...
  7. I was just guessing, MD. Nice to have the actual palate palette from a place of experience(?)
  8. Have a read-up on synaesthesia, MD; it's downright fascinating! (a sort of green-tinged magenta/plum?)
  9. Refer to puzzle threads. Says it all, really. And not particularly flatteringly... Anyways... One second chance implies a first chance; thus a group of two. A second second chance implies a second first chance; thus a second group of two, and four chances in all - two plus two. A second second-second chance (in its group of four - see above) implies a first second-second chance (in its group of four); thus a second group of four, and eight chances in all - four plus four - of which the second second second chance is number 8. Or, in other words, two cubed. Glad you asked? Oh, wait, you didn't... 😬
  10. What do I have to do to get such largesse, from you and @Witches Hat? And you flatter me with your desire to best me. Recent performance warrants it not!
  11. [Calculator keys click] That'd be his eighth chance then? Does go with the seven he had with us...
  12. Nup. Still none the wiser. And one guess summarily dismissed overnight.
  13. 'Fritter', @Bitter but optimistic?! Freudian or deliberate?
  14. Gold and silver to @tilly18 in the last two events! Building a reputation! And that @mo64, eh? Very solid over the journey. I've just returned after my initial post and the subsequent wasted hour or so. None the wiser. Shall now sleep (nightmare?) on it...
  15. I'd bet @Demonstone would want no apology and rather (like me) would welcome the continuing growth in this nerdy D'Land sub-culture! Now, 'three parts to the answer' you say? I hear the sound of new ground breaking...
  16. Somewhat detrimental to his trade value, Daise. Though he'd still have 30 goals a season in him, and who needs arms when you can frighten the opposition into turnovers...
  17. Another 'Off The Track' singling-out of Judd, this time from James Harmes. Somethin's goin' on...
  18. 👍Just finished it. I'm an all of the 57 years - and the several before them that the book covers for their effect on 'the 57'. So I'm not a 'particularly', I'm a 'definitely'.
  19. Oh, and by the way, @Demonstone, I'm prepared to hold the fort - or at least toss it around a bit - while you're on what we hope is just a (well-earned) sabbatical.
  20. Probably apocryphal, but Frank Sinatra reputedly said, on being presented with a book as a gift, 'What do I want a book for? I've already read one!'
  21. 👏 @Bombay Airconditioning and @Allus Monk. Persistence Rules!
  22. ('Longshot listener / loneliest throngs / singleton holster - all anagrams of The Rolling Stones' Yours, @Demonstone? 👏) I take heart that, as the full title goes, 'this may be the last time'. So, from my bias, https://www.google.com/search?q=get+back+beatles+youtube&oq=get+back+beatles+youtube&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i512j0i22i30i625l2j0i22i30j0i10i22i30j0i22i30l2.9174j0j4&client=ms-android-samsung-ss&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:f269b487,vid:rG860QcseTI
  23. Gus interviewed at the Coterie golf day: '...[there's] new positions for different players that the people will see...' It sounded like these were relatively settled outcomes from 'the heap of matchplay' they'd been doing at training, as opposed to praccy match try-outs. It will be interesting to see what might be unfolding in this regard next Friday.
  24. Sorry, @Bombay Airconditioning. I was hardly more confident of this answer than the handful I'd already tried!
