  1. Watching last quarter of R23, with commentary for Tom Sparrow's kick at goal, last quarter, for the lead: "If he can nail this it'll be the biggest of his career, by some margin". Wouldn't have lasted long... 😆
  2. Yeah, thanks @dazzledavey36; I did have a spare 20, easy to find in Premiers2021land. Such a pleasure to watch where he is in the lead-up to his goals, knowing he's going to get it; I was struck by his sense, read and speed getting to the fall of the ball, sometimes from well away from the drop.
  3. Anything then to be taken from the running over the top of them in the praccy match? The squad sure seems to have a balance and dynamic reflective of the mens'. I've reflected on MFCSS coming for the women's team on another thread. This thread is for POSITIVE!
  4. Being reminded of the opportunity COVID wrenched from the women (and so us!) in 2020, along with a main angle in Birch's article - that, notwithstanding the voluntary actions (presumably all teams are taking), ultimate success rests on "...if you can beat COVID..." - I'm wondering if MFCSS, now cured (in remission? *cough*) with respect to the men's team, is trying to find a toehold in our following of the women's fortunes? The possibility that a team a dozen or more players below full strength might be required to play a team at full strength doesn't help...
  5. Interesting 'get', dc. I had to look that up; did you? And I see your Haha, @WalkingCivilWar. Did you have to look it up too?
  6. (Quoted cos 1 emojed response not sufficient for 2 clevernesses...)
  7. Gosh, Redleg, I thought I'd at least have to reach junior officer level for such an invitation! No confusion at all - though I realise my naming of the Valiant Vessel should have been NT$NBS. My reference, and congratulations, to 'Thread' was to (The) NT$NBS - i.e. No T$ No BS - thread, definitely not, in any way to the individual WSNBN. But, a 'mea culpa' if (as the mealy-mouthed contrite like to say these days) 'anyone has been offended'. Onwards across the seven seas!
  8. You got me thinking, Mr Stone; I realise I've been in the camp muariesy's quip identifies. So, online I went, and Merriam-Webster there has detailed etymological discussion approving both for the purpose of saying (to use M-W's suggested confusion-avoiding alternative) 'zero in' on something. Regardless, I'm expecting Goody's next update to refer to zero injuries or other issues, with skills and fitness being further honed, and all directed towards a home premiership.
  9. It seems no-one noticed the passing of NTSNBS's 10th birthday on 8 July. Belated congratulations to you then, Thread, to your single parent @Redleg, and to all who have sailed in you (me being only a very green rating). Granted, as @old dee's orphan post on the day glumly reflected, it was the week after the season-ending (😄😆🤣😂) Giant's loss, so there might have been other things on the Good Ship NTSNBS's collective mind...
  10. And don't forget the distraction/relief/pleasure afforded by the weekly wins, and the attendant mounting anticipation stretching across the year along the way! 😊
  11. You're not any more, Neil!😄
  12. Including former team, Stephen Powell-ish (quite an asset to us, including in finals, in his time)? But it's so hard to see anyone breaking into this team other than as caused by (gulp) the 'i' word.
  13. Posted Wednesday evening with, but for a few thumbs, no responses since. We're not as excited?...
  14. And sometimes the bananas rise even higher!
  15. Not mine, WCW (when you read this after 24 hours' banishment...) - I was referring to the Post GF thread, homing in on 100 😁 p.s. And, yes, you really do need to!😠 Nah, just kidding 😄
  16. You should post that over on that thread pushing for 100 pages, Red😄 Anyone else got a COVID face like mine? We only get about 2/3 of that well-identified feeling then, Red, but it's still mighty fine.
  17. On track (Trac?) for 100 pages in 100 days (Monday)! (p.s. Monday is NOT to be the end of the honeymoon! MFC is the polar opposite of politics!)
  18. On my umpteenth viewing last week I noticed that, after his initial involvement in the bounce, Luke isn't on the receiving end of Viney's toe poke by design; he actually stumbles out of the centre action but amazingly it's to where the toe poke goes, and in the direction of its movement. He recovers instantly, and the rest is history.
  19. He does, but then in a funny way he doesn't seem to. He's one of those players for whom time seems to slow. I also noticed in 'The 59' how much Tom McDonald was involved in the delivery to him. Also noticed quite a few one-hand scoops on the run, of which 'that' GF goal was the pinnacle - a trademark unfolding? And isn't it great to see good old fashioned leads, to precision (yes, precision!) delivery, culminating in leaping chest marks.
  20. In the Merry Month of May...
  21. ...so, my son has pointed out, he went 2 soon... He saw himself out...
  22. Veer? That was too good for it not to, Mr Stone, to be sure. Brilliantly unearthed, too.
