  1. Not with the dogs loss last night, we still have a game in hand, they have a bye next week and we play swans, in all likelihood we will be in the 8 at the conclusion of round 15 win or loose today
  2. They still have played one more game than us and we have the superior % so long as we win as many games as they do we still finish ahead of them
  3. Tmac and harmes aren’t in the best 22 right now and sparrow is about as fringe as you can get. I think Brown for tmac would be an upgrade from what tmac has shown
  4. Good news is we are winning despite being way off our best, if we can get through the next qtr without being to far down then we should get them in the last with the wind and out superior fitness, think we have only lost one last qtr all year
  5. Looks quite windy dees need to take that into account when kicking not try to pin point a target, run and carry would be my suggestion
  6. The big thing hogan offered besides goals and which none of our current key fwds offer was his up field play, he had a great tank and was arguably more valuable playing as a link player on the wing who could go fwd and create a mismatch. I feel he could play in a team which already has Weid and Jackson, probably taking Melksham or Tomlinsons spot
  7. English likes to drift fwd to create a miss match , something to keep an eye on The main area exposed last week v Grundy was the pies ease at getting it out of the centre clearance, if Preuss can halve that this week we should be fine
  8. Given Polec comes with a large contract over his head and can’t get a game, I wouldn’t be giving north anything back unless they paid some of that, even if they did a late 2nd round is more than enough
  9. Issue is this game is the very definition of a 8 point game, loose this and dogs take our place in the 8, then we have to wait till they or someone else slips up. No point saving Gawn if we don’t play finals
  10. I'd like to know what he thinks has changed since 2018 and how this years team has improved to hopefully take the next step
  11. Seems like he also finally stopped taking his man to the same contest as Weid, if he only does one thing right for the rest of the year it should be to take his man away from Weid into space.
  12. Even as a hypothetical I can’t see it even if we won every game from here on out. None of the top 4 play each other so who will they drop games to
  13. 2 spots left in the 8 imo pies and gws, if we loose tomorrow pies go 10 points clear of us and effectively tie a spot up. Not too worried about the ins and outs but I would say on balance I’d rather be in our position than theres list wise right now. If we are real contender just to make the 8 a win tomorrow is a must.
  14. Tmac now stays in playing the same role as last week, Maybe they can bring smith in to play fwd and relief ruck in place of Jackson? Or if Gawn is fit have him play fwd
  15. I watched tmac closely tonight and although he ended up having an impact he looks so slow now, a number of times his direct opponent just ran past him even though he had position. Against better teams his direct opponent would end up tearing us a new one on the rebound, Melk can at least halve the contest and create a stoppage of nothing else. Fritsch other than kicking more points than goals is in great form right now I wouldn’t be swapping him for anyone
  16. We tried that it didn’t work, unless tmac can play down back again or weid of Jackson go horribly out of form he goes straight out once gawn is fit
  17. Changes should be easy enough Gawn and Viney in Tmac/Jackson(rest) and harmes/jones out I think Spargo, Rivers, Hannan and Sparrow all did enough to hold there spot
  18. If Gawn is out then tmac stays in and him and jackson can share the ruck, not the worst time to give Gawn a rest anyway. I don't think he would have been the difference between winning and loosing this week anyway
  19. 13 inside 50s in the first qtr for no goals, 3 talls doesn’t work
  20. Pack up and get ready for next week ?
  21. Beaten in the middle and the contest, the difference in ability is clear. We won’t be winning this unless lions run out of steam
  22. The adage what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger doesn’t apply in real life, make no mistake this is a disadvantage that has no upside.
  23. This next 2 weeks (14 days) is a nightmare, from Sunday July 26 to this week to Sunday august 9 we play 4 games, which includes the top 2 teams
  24. Every time I see Melksham I see Beavis
  25. No change for me, specifically I'd leave Tmac out. I think Weid was more effective as the main target this week than tmac has been all year and Jackson is more effective as a 2nd ruck and for a big guy does a lot of pressure acts when he doesn't have the ball in hand, i noticed quite a few times Gawn stayed back for the intercept mark while Jackson rucked in the fwd line. While they are both playing well I'm happy to wait and let Tmac push his way back in as I dont think there is room for him without one going out
