A saviour can't make a champion team. What we see is a club determined to become a champion team and all players will have a role. Some will go on to make it, some will drift by the wayside. Like you WJ I have seen them come and go. I would prefer a Bernie Vince or any number of our young talent rather than focusing on one or two players. I guess that it's hard not to be excited by CP but it's in the context of seeing another young talented player come into the team that already boasts real talent. However, CP needs to prove himself, he needs to be a team orientated player who will sacrifice his game at times for the good of the team. And he needs to stay injury free, which may be a challenge for a young boy with so much bulk. I hope I am proved wrong on the injury front but it is noticeable that our youngsters this year have not bulked up to much and that has not been an impediment in the contest.

Given that you have not been able to get malt for about 40 years OD hardly surprising that you would be regarded with incredulity. The thought of having a banana milkshake with malt and lashings of ice cream has me salivating but not in a lewd manner a la Bitters.

No forgiveness for Melksham or the other cheaters. They had their chance but they fell at every hurdle or opportunity to come clean.

Anyway OD I am enjoying your Renaissance as a loyal enthusiastic and optimistic supporter along with all the other folk on Demonland. I think the second coming is getting closer or as MLK once said "I had a dream" and the dream is becoming a real possibility. We can see the light!

MFC 2016 Membership - Record Broken. Next stop: 40,000

Yep like being at a revivalist meeting except we were worshipping the Demons. Come to think of it, it is ok to worship Shiva. -
My gosh Old Dee you really have turned the corner.

Good to hear Clint. When has a footballer ever been described this way? Must be the first time. Intelligence, humour and charm. Particularly charm. Nice to know that our marauding first ruckman has charm.

It is very heartening to see that our players will not be bullied by opponents and are ready to give back or even initiate some aggression. But like everything there is a balance and I hope that it does not spill over into unnecessary aggro or what in the old days we called "dirty play" which also results in fines, suspensions or even tipping the balance of a game the wrong way. I want to see a Jack Viney out there giving it to them by his sheer dominance and not sidelined by suspension.Sure I want to a hard edge but I much prefer to see our boys punish the opposition on the scoreboard.

How good it is to see our supporters coming to the game and barracking for their new team. No more negative comments and general despair from the stands. Supporters expectations have suddenly changed now we are watching our young team play attractive attacking footy, and actually kicking goals.

Agree on Brayshaw, just such a competitive and smart footballer that does the little things so well. For mine i would keep the side together unless there in injury, soreness or forced absence.

Every time Lumumba has the ball I have my heart in my mouth, i love his run particularly when he is in the clear because it can be so inspirational, however, I get very frustrated when he tries to do it with opposition players around him forcing a turnover. I would like him to be selective with his run and smarter with his ball use, but I am resigned to the fact that this is unlikely to happen. He is more the athlete than the thinking footballer.

you can see the belief growing in the faces of our players. so excited to be there on Sunday nigh with our mob. it so nice to feel pride in our team.

Man love for Bernie who has become the complete player and leader on the field. His talk on the field is really impressive and I have more admiration for the guy than ever. Has to be our best pick-up ever.
-
Like others, I am really excited about our young boys who showed so much composure and competitiveness despite their tender years and few games. Wow we are building a competitive team.

Invented well before the Greeks, as written in the Veda's 5000 years ago and graphically depicted in many parts of what we now call India.

Biff there are times when it is best to remain silent. Although my guess is that you are not the silent type.

The Game Plan - It seems to be working

I would hate to think where we would be without Paul Roos and of course Peter Jackson. Also our President as kept a diplomatic and low key profile and not been prone to make wild and outlandish statements about our future. It has been a stable and purposeful period, so much needed after years of turmoil on and off the field. -
and despite paul roos attraction as our coach and as an intelligent and good looking man, I will not be watching. I would rather see a matador gored by a bull than watch!

happy for MFC players not to go on that piece of TV tripe and have to play along with the idiots who are all too familiar. it does nothing for the player or the club, just used as bait for cheap laughs, ridicule and foolishness. would be happy for club to keep players well away from the pig trough that is the footy show. max gawn may be funny but he would be made to look foolish and any good opinions that he may have would not get any air time. that he plays good footy for us each weekend is enough for me.

Happy to go in as underdogs in this game and every other at least for this season.

The Game Plan - It seems to be working

The only interest in game plans is what I see on the field from week to week. More concerned about skills, decision making, disposal, tackling, contested ball, run, spirit , support for team mates and sheer guts and determination. -
Genetics? Don't forget the differences between family members. I just need to look at my beloved and her sister. Thank goodness for the differences otherwise I would have been committed many years ago just to escape.

until 2016 season never thought he would make it. Too small , too slow and for a period seemed to lack the fire in his belly. But he is a true success story who has turned his career around. Now one of the first picked. Great achievement by Nev and coaches. Restored the pride and reputation of our indigenous brothers at MFC.

Yes Nut an important distinction.
