  1. Open your eyes. He is a good tackler but is always trying to take shortcuts and refuses to run with his opponents. Stood out with Geelong's chip it around style. I don't question his want to run and tackle, he had a great passage from the half back to the wing where he got to Blicavs. I question his ability to run and shut down an opponent from being an option, the unrewarded running that isn't acknowledged on a stat sheet.
  2. Would love to see Prodee come back and explain this one. Panned out exactly as expected. Anyone who wants to use the argument about the players that were drafted with the picks we traded can get stuffed. Devon Smith and Charlie Cameron were traded for much less and we probably could have got both for the same picks. Didn't think Lever was that bad today though. Might just be an expectations thing.
  3. Sort of, we still easily win if someone man's up Mitch Duncan in the first quarter, Max Gawn doesn't go to water and touches the ball on the goal line in the second quarter, someone stops the handball to Dangerfield in the third quarter. Was pathetic awareness from the whole team on multiple occasions.
  4. No, a midfielder that can run and carry and hit a target is.
  5. Pathetic defence running from Oliver
  6. It was clear we sucked when our b team got point aways from beating our a team.
  7. Nah, we are just [censored]. Clearly in.

3rd game, give it a while before starting with this....

Let's remember we tried to get rid of him a year before to GWS.
  10. They make these sacrifices to play football, which no one else is allowed to do at this stage. Exposure to a confirmed case needs to be a blanket rule. No exceptions. Essentially his manager argued why should he have to sit out when he is negative, which is happening to people all over the country. Football is not that important in the scheme of things. Inconsistencies, such as this and letting people attend a rally set a poor precedent and people will continue to disrespect the rules when they are not enforced consistently and fairly to everyone.
  11. Setting a terrible example for the community, no one else is allowed such luxuries. As much as I love football, having had to remain in isolation myself even after testing negative, I fail to see why they get a seperate set of rules to the rest of us.
  12. I know he is the expert, but how can he say there is nothing unusual? I don't think too many people would have been tested as often as Conor has been and to go Negative, Positive, Negative in such a short timeframe seems very unusual to me. If this is not unusual to be able to clear it in a short space of time, we are never going to get a hold of it in Victoria with asymptomatic cases. Essentially everyone would need to be tested every few days or we're flying blind.
  13. Was that 3 or 4 goals from 50m penalties to the light blue team? Undisciplined.
  14. A lot of goals for the B team early! Did they mix the teams in the second half to avoid the embarrassment?
  15. From what I understand, he went to the club today to do a test, not to train and had limited exposure to other people. Still strange why they would do the test at the club.
  16. Fox footy reported he was To do his test.
  17. May looked pretty good last year when he went forward for us late in a game. If we continue to struggle I wouldn't mind it, but don't want McDonald anywhere near the backline. I've always thought Mitch Brown played his best footy as a defender.
  18. Interesting, I watched the last quarter again and Max lost his feet on 4 or 5 occasions way too easily. Got very lucky on one occasion and got a free kick when Casboult outbodied him. I think he was as much of the problem as anyone in the last quarter.
  19. Fritsch kicked 1.4 and an out on the full from 20 meters out. He should have kicked 5 and then you probably wouldn't be saying this. I'm happy to stick with him playing deep if he can kick straight.
  20. Weideman is definitely not quicker and has no agility. With the amount of cameras and over analysis they do of each moment at a training session, I am more than happy to back the coaching department in on this one. You are clearly a huge Weideman fan, I am not. However, the same question marks we have all been debating with Weideman for the last 3 years are still question marks. To blame his lack of development (I would say progression) on the club is a huge cop out. In 2019 Weideman average 10.3 disposals and a goal a game playing an average of 84% ground time of 20 minute quarters. Jackson played 70% ground time and had 7 disposals from 16 minute quarters. It's a very small sample size but I'll go with the potential on this one. If Jackson has another week with this sort of output and someone is knocking the door down, switch them over but Weideman has not got the runs on the board.
  21. He was for the goal in the last quarter, Cripps easily outbodied Oliver and marked. On the other occasion in the last quarter Rivers was opposed to him but unsure how that matchup came about. In the third quarter Cripps was resting forward and Smith gave away a panic free kick. Nothing to do with Oliver.
  22. It's an extremely small sample but so frustrating when players do it. Key forwards should be dominating in 14 a sides with all the space they will be getting. Without seeing how he kicked his goals, we really can't judge his game. I remember he kicked 6 against Box Hill and I wasn't even remotely impressed as his opponent let him run and jump at every ball unimpeded which will rarely happen at AFL level. Getting the basics right, chasing etc. I would suggest would be more highly valued than kicking goals in these limited number games.
  23. I would say he still needs to work on the little things. Just from watching Carlton's highlights of the practice game, there was an instance where he got outmarked and didn't actively man the mark and his opponent was able to quickly play on. He is not a good enough player to be missing basics like this.
  24. I don't necessarily disagree, but that's something Oliver needs to add to his game to get to the next level. I am not sure if Cripps went forward or was just pushing forward from the midfield, he was always around the clearances in the last quarter. I actually think the one he missed in the last quarter, he got away from Oliver and Rivers was trying to cover, impossible for any of us to know, but a few minutes later when he marked and goaled Oliver was on him in the forward 50 and Cripps got rid of him very easily. Cripps had a shocker with his disposal on the weekend but did have a big last quarter. My point was more that I can't remember too many occasions where Oliver lifts late in the game the way that Cripps, Fyfe, Martin and others do.
  25. He did a great job, but if Cripps kicks straight he is the game winner. Oliver also had the advantage of a much better Ruckman.
