Probably our best win in a decade when you think about it. Brayshaw > sliced bread. -
I could seriously have a pull over some of Brayshaw's efforts today.
-
Brayshaw will be a culture changer. He knew Enright was coming for him on the wing. He had the option of a panicky handball but took a hit for the team to ensure a stoppage. Love him.

If we beat the Cats today I will ....

3 touches for 2 clangers when you come on halfway through the third quarter isn't going to get you a game the next week, ever. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12

Howe and Watts to play deep forward this week, surely? With Gawn resting down there too. I can't see us kicking more than 8-10 goals for the game. -

Terlich, Jones, Riley and ANB (sub) would be my bench. Maybe play Terlich in the forward half. Pretty depressing 'Ins' but can't do much about that. -
Thank you mfc, Celia McDonald and Jesse Hogan

Yes, yes, yes! Thanks for sharing Mark, nice story. -
It's difficult to believe Vince had ZERO pre-season and is playing the way he is. Either he's a freak or pre-seasons are overrated. Maybe both.
-
Pedersen out for the year? Strewth! I thought it would be a 4-5 weeker a la Wines who also broke his wrist earlier in the year. May as well put Frost out for the year too. He has been listed as 6 weeks away for 8 consecutive weeks now. I think we're lucky that despite a long injury list, pretty much none of them are in our best 5-8 players. Imagine if all of Hogan, N. Jones, Vince and Tommy Mac went down!

Don't underestimate the degree of difficulty with that tackle. I've never seen a tackle as good as that on a "Don't Argue". I'd honestly rate it as one of the best, and comparable to Nathan Carroll's tackle on Gehrig back in 2006. It's just a shame it still ended up in a Saints goal not long after it.

Nope, totally agree. And to be honest I'd written Toumpas off after his horror outing against Hawthorn. To see him bounce back and look like he may in fact not be a poor pick after all, is very pleasing.
-
I don't there's any hope he'll be an A-grader. I'm guessing you mean the Selwood, Pendlebury level. He won't get there. But he is similar in style to Leigh Montagna who has had a very servicable career. Montagna isn't overly fast but runs hard and distributes the same way.

I like your attitude and agree with it on the whole. Petracca's tweet yesterday evening was also heartwarming. The most disappointing thing for me was missing a golden chance to break two hoodoos (particularly the Etihad one). I think winning there after 8 years and 20 straight losses would have been a pretty strong sign that the ghosts of the past are finally behind us. Alas not.
-
MFC leading goalkicker in 2014: Chris Dawes (20 goals) Hogan has already surpassed that and hasn't even played half a season. And it's his FIRST season! Very special talent.
-
If it was a short quarter, then surely the coaches would have sent the runner out screaming and shouting as Howe was lining up for goal. It would seem like they didn't do it. Maybe Roos should be blamed for the lack of foresight. No good shouting into the phone when the goal has already been kicked.
-
The first bundle are the serious potential wins, the second are the maybes. We didn't too badly against Collingwood a few days ago and I can't see Cloke kicking 7.0 again (then again he probably will!).
-
After the break we have West Coast (certain loss) then a stretch which includes Essendon, St.Kilda, Carlton and Brisbane all at the MCG. Barring a catastrophe we should be fielding stronger sides by then. We also have Collingwood again and the Bulldogs and Giants at Etihad. I expect us to get more than 4 wins by year's end.
-
Who cares?! The fans need to snap out of this loser mentality as much as the players do!
-
If he plays like this every week (and he won't, but you know what I mean) then it's huge for the club going forward. We drafted him for his elite footskills and creativity, today we saw it on display. He had been building towards a breakout game but today we finally got it. Well done Jimmy and well done picket fence for giving him his due credit.

Toumpas will!

They are still heavily reliant on Riewoldt, when he bows out they will be in strife. I suppose McCartin is there waiting, but he ain't no Hogan. Riewoldt could be 80 years old and in a wheelchair and still take us to the cleaners in a game. Great player, a freak, who always destroys us.

Geelong were woeful in their three games at SS earlier in the year. Flogged by Freo, well-beaten by North and even the Suns nearly pipped them! I know things have changed since then but surely the players can go down the highway with a positive mindset. I wonder if Geelong will bring Clark back, come to think of it. If he's anything less than 100% then they won't.

Ins. Dawes, M. Jones, Fitzpatrick Outs. Pedersen (Inj), Michie, ANB Pedersen looks injured, Dawes can come back. Michie had 3 touches, 2 of them clangers as the sub, that's awful. Must be dropped, even if Matt Jones doesn't offer much. We need Fitzpatrick in for the matchup on Clark, ANB looked a long way off.
