  1. I think Richmond's would be and Carlton's too. But I reckon we'd have the others covered. It's not often we win and it's too often we lose badly, so I doubt the emotions would fluctuate quite as severely with most of the other teams.
  2. It's a nasty, nasty place after a loss. But the best place in the world after a win. Everyone will be wonderful again when we beat the Lions. Don't ever change Demonland.
  3. FFS, Brisbane are at the bottom of the ladder. We've won twice as many games as them AND it's our home game. One loss and we're back to Fitzroy-level bad are we? Good old Demonland. We should win, but Brisbane have good recent history against us.
  4. I wonder if it was Roos or Goodwin who decided to throw McDonald forward yesterday. It nearly won us the game. I love seeing a 'plan B' come off, you don't see it too often these days.
  5. You guys listening in to a crappy radio broadcast are seriously dedicated. Kudos. Will Jayden Hunt get another year on the list, I wonder? He knows where the goals are.
  6. No issues at all with them having a beer and even enjoying themselves away from the camera. But posting selfies to your Instagram account when you know you have thousands of fans as followers is a stupid move IMO. What's the point of it?
  7. Good point. Also, some posters were too caught up with St.Kilda flogging them last week and setting themselves up for disappointment. "The Saints flogged them, so we will too!" Footy is way more complex than that. For instance we beat Geelong, who beat Essendon, who beat us! When you put 22 blokes up against 22 other blokes in wet and blustery conditions, anything can happen unless there is a clear gulf in class. Very disappointed to let 4 gettable points slip from our grasp, but we'll learn. I wonder how Dog fans were feeling when we beat them by 39 points a few days after getting belted by 100. I bet they're feeling better now!
  8. He has good hands. He also had a pretty good shot at goal just before half time, but I'm not sure the 'miracle' attempt from the boundary would have gone done well with the coaches. Roos looked angry.
  9. I know we're all meant to hate Howe because he's leaving at the end of the year, and is playing crap.... but surely he won't get suspended for THAT? It was a tackle. One motion. The guy hit his head. Bad luck. Clearly different to the Gibbs one.
  10. I haven't seen much of Brissie this year but I see it as a danger game. They have the wood over us in recent years, even in Victoria. We must win next week and against St.Kilda. Winnable games, as today's was meant to be. 2/3 is not too bad a strike rate. 1/3 is unacceptable and 0/3 I don't even want to think about. I like the idea of Fitzpatrick in for Dawes. At least now we know Fitzy and McDonald can play forward or back. Dawes is a forward only and a fairly useless one at that. They can re-arrange some deckchairs amongst the smaller players if they like, but I'm not fazed.
  11. The Saints loss deflated me more than this one. We must win our next two games now.
  12. We would have won easily if we'd kicked straight and Daniher had been his usual self. Against Geelong we kicked 18.5 today it was 7.18. Most underrated stat in the game. I never expected it to be a formality, so I'm not as upset as others. But I hate Essendon with a passion, and we should have won, so it's terribly disappointing none-the-less.
  13. Yep, personally I'm more worried about what Zaharakis will do to us. He played the best individual game of any opponent against us last year. 30 touches and 4 critical goals from memory. Gun.
  14. No AFL level player is soft in the true sense of the word, but if you put Jack Watts at one end of the spectrum, and Glenn Archer at the other - Heppell is a lot closer to Watts' end. Doesn't mean he can't play, but I don't think the conditions will suit him.
  15. Heppell is a very good player, but very much at the 'softer' end of the spectrum. Surely the wet weather and the ferocious combo of Brayshaw/vandenBerg/Viney/Jones/Cross as his midfield opponents will render him useless. Hope so anyway.
  16. Probably our best team on paper since the Richmond game. Disappointed for Toump but past draft number is irrelevant, on form he's out of credits and I think JKH will offer more on a wet MCG track. Seeing Bail, M.Jones and Spencer all out is bliss. Brayshaw and vandenBerg in tandem in the wet too. That didn't look likely a few days ago.
  17. I wouldn't say he's a certainty to debut yet. I can't remember who it was now, but we elevated a rookie last year under Roos on a Thursday mornning and he was just the emergency. Regardless, I think he probably will debut and look forward to it. He sounds like another Roos-type player. Not flashy but a good role player who goes hard. Stretch and ANB have been welcome additions, I hope he can impact the same way.
  18. Threads like these kinda jumped the shark when that guy didn't follow up on his Rohan Bail tattoo promise. Not even on the butt. By the way, if we don't beat Essendon I won't be overly surprised. We're a bottom 5 side, just like them. A better one, but anything can happen in 2 hours of footy.
  19. Does vandenBerg come straight back, or does he need a game at VFL level? I say bring him back. EDIT: Saw it discussed already. I'm with you hogans_heroes.
  20. I don't listen to the radio a lot but I've always felt that Triple M capture the atmosphere of a good game the best, with a bit of humour thrown on top. The TV commentary is pretty bad these days. I like Eddie, Sandy, Huddo and Dennis the best. The worst of the worst are Bas and Hame commentating in tandem. I will actually mute the game if these two are on. As for special comments, I really like Jonathan Brown. He would make a good coach. Ling is a bit cringe-worthy with some of the things he says but seems like a good bloke. Carey is decent. All the others are rubbish. It annoys me how they get Tim Watson in for Essendon games and Ricciuto for Adelaide. These two are conflicted, despite their best efforts to hide it they should be nowhere near those games.
  21. I'm not sure about that. Win/Lose/Draw we will be in a better place than 2013. The Bombers beat us by 150 points that year don't forget. Losing the game will undo most of the good work of winning in Geelong but the pitchforks don't need to come out. Hawthorn beat them by only 5 goals last week.
  22. Just like we were supposed to beat their top-up side by 10 goals in March. We didn't. We should beat them but I'm already nervous and it's only Sunday evening. Normally the nerves don't set in until game day. The Bombers will have a point to prove and we are coming back from Darwin but we should still get them with the right mindset. One thing is for sure, if they beat us, Demonland will go into meltdown.
  23. No way, Dunn is way too short (190cm vs 201cm). He got owned by the similar sized Tippett earlier in the year. I'd be putting McDonald on him with Fitzy as insurance.
  24. I would LOL hard if Mark Neeld was appointed care taker though.
