Can we add him to the banner? Too soon?

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
I'm aware of that. I was more referring to his comments made in hindsight. I hope he is right though as we will then have a very strong midfield if he is as good as Roos thinks he will be.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
This is no longer a debate. Petracca is so for ahead it is not funny. I also think Roos article saying he would have Brayshaw at one was a bit strange. On what evidence would he pick Brayshaw ahead of Petracca? That isn't saying Brayshaw won't be a good player, I'm sure he will come into his own as he develops further. But Petracca has abilities that Brayshaw will never have.

In Jason Taylor we trust!
I wonder how he is feeling about his move now..... ha ha ha.

Early picks are definitely very important, but I would argue the later picks are just as important. If you take the Hawks for example, they definitely nailed their early picks in Hodge, Lewis, Franklin, Roughead and Riloi. However, what they were also able to do is get some really good players with mid-late picks as well. Sam Mitchell: Pick 36 Isaac Smith: Pick 19 (not as late but still a good selection) Liam Shiels: Pick 34 Taylor Dureya: Pick 69 Luke Breust: Pick 77 Paul Puopolo: Pick 66 If you nail the late picks and ensure you are getting the majority of early picks right you have the opportunity to build a very strong side. Fingers crossed we've been able to do that!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
As much as I would've liked to use next year's second, we have brought in that many kids over the last 3-4 years so not too concerned about having a year without a lot of draft picks. We may also still trade next year's 2nd with another pick to try and get back into the 2nd round this year, who knows!

Such stark contrast between Essendon and Hawthorn. I know they are different circumstances but one club just got it done and moves on, the other acts like a child. Last year we did the exact same, when we could've easily tried to get a 3rd rounder for Melksham we instead just got it done and moved on. People think Dodoro is a shrewd operator when in fact he is clueless.

It will get done- not too worried about it.

I'd say the assumption is that picks are always going to slide each year with free agency and academy picks. I imagine we are wanting to use our current 2nd round pick on another deal.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
I was more thinking we could go for the record in a single season. I then discovered that GWS have the record with 8 in 2012! Interestingly 2 of those nominations were D Tyson and T Bugg.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
That's pretty disappointing as if he had been eligible we could be going for 4 or 5 nominations this season!

Petracca or Stretch for Rising Star this week? Is Stretch eligible after playing 11 games last season?

Can we get some New Era ones made up? *Tongue in cheek

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
His mark against the Dogs suggests he could be. He is about 4cm shorter than Fyfe at the moment but this could change over the next year,

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
The thing I like is that everyone mentioned the game on the weekend was more at AFL level intensity and he seemed to thrive on that and go up a level. Plus that 45m snap was something else for a first year player.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
I view Parish as a Marc Murphy style player who will be silky skilled, move well and will be an above average footballer. I view Oliver as having the potential to be a Dangerfield/Judd type player who turns entire games and does the freakish things.... Hope I'm right!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
I genuinely believe he could be our best midfielder in a couple of years time. Even better than Brayshaw and Viney (I see Petracca as more a fwd/mid)

That first mark and goal was very impressive. Here's hoping he is over his on-going injury issues and can develop into a gun full forward.

Thanks for that ProDee!

Does anyone know where to find the video of his game against the Blues VFL side?
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Think of it this way RTG, he dominated the TAC cup coming off OP and looking slightly overweight. Once he is in AFL physical condition who knows what level he can get to. He has already matched it with men in the VFL which is another plus.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
If he can get himself super fit he could be anything. Viney, Brayshaw, Oliver, Tyson, Petracca, Vandenberg will be running rampant in the middle. Those guys will seriously hurt other sides.

Has anyone heard from Olisik? I'm imagining he has passed out from pure elation….. If anyone knows where he is you should call an ambulance.

Haha that would be great....

I think the results will be kept fairly secret.
