2018 Membership Thread
Agreed. But if a team is inflating their numbers the sponsors will know about it. Plus they would also want to know average game attendance, average TV audience, number of full season members v a few games etc. There would be a lot more to it than just the number a club promotes on its website.

2018 Membership Thread
The only thing that really matters at the end of the day is revenue generated from memberships, not the number. Giving out memberships is only patching over the issues, which are deep judging by reports of the Saints finncial performances the last few years.

Andrew Gaff
I feel Sloane is similar to the players we already have, while Gaff is a genuine point of difference. Gaff! Gaff! Gaff!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
He looks really solid. Could be an astute pick up by Taylor and Co.

Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
So we got him with the pick we got for Watts..... could be amazing

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
So what happens if they don't sign by that date? They have to leave? Wouldn't work. What if a player simply hasn't made up there mind yet but 6 weeks later they have.

Jon Ralph thinks we paid overs...... means we won the deal. Great work Dees.

Seems fair and reasonable. As long as we don't cave. Adelaide will end up accepting like this as they know he's not signing with another club so what is the point dragging it out?

Agreed. But that was more to do with the middle and forward parts of the ground. Their press through the midfield was abysmal today. Doesn't matter how good a defender is, if the ball keeps coming in you're going to struggle.

Lever played his role today. Nothing more, nothing less. It was a number of other players who lost it for them. He will be a welcome addition if he comes.

Don't think it will be an issue if we are contending. The CBA is going up and guys like Lewis, Jones & Vince will be finishing up or retired. They will be replaced by younger players on a lower wage.

Haha the way he answered it seems he's gone. If you weren't you would say nah mate not going anywhere. How else would he answer the question?

I agree with this. There are times using the handballs to release an open player is important, but I'd like to see us back the players in more and get the ball moving forward. It means the forwards need to always been in the right position to contest and not allow easy marks. The Hawks did this well during their glory years. They wouldn't always move the ball with precision, but they would always get it moving forward with little knock ons.

I think we are paying him slight overs at his current market rate to get him to the club in the hope he pays 8-10 years with us.

Hawthorn with Mitchell. Geelong with Dangerfield. At least Collingwood didn't have to give up a decent player. Picks are all speculative. I'm backing our recruiters in to make the right calls though. They've had a great track record the last 2-3 years.

I don't see why sides like Geelong, Collingwood and Hawthorn can just trade picks for gun players but then we have to give up a lot more? F' em. We offer a first and 2nd round pick and that's it.
